Junior was the single most powerful capo in the family, in season 1 Tony couldn't just talk to him like a klutz. Just all the other capos backed Tony which tipped the scales in his favour. Still, Uncle Jun for years prior had been above his "little nephew" in the power stakes.
Barese crew was the biggest and most powerful crew in family actually. Its just the fact that Albert and Larry never wanted the heat, they always backed up Tony. Sadly we never see anyone from that crew
