I love season 1 because a) it's just so fucking Jersey. And b) Junior Soprano is still a mobster in solid standing. Has a crew for crying out loud. Starting with season 2 he's basically shelved and then in later seasons he develops dementia.
He was still allowed some influence over his former crew though, such as deciding who is the capo. We saw that when he promoted Bobby in season 4 (I think it was)
Exactly, I wish we had another season where it was more like season 1. More backstory. More time with Jackie Sr and Junior as a gangster so we can see more of Tony as a Capo and not the acting boss yet. Before everything went haywire. So if there was 1 other season before season 1 that would be perfect.
