Young brother, what you are hearing is REAL MUSIC made by REAL MUSICIANS. No Autotune, no sampling, no beat or drum machine, just real acoustic instruments playing in the studio. As for "I didn't know Stevie Wonder had vocals like that!"...... Now you know WHY he is a legend. He did not get there by accident. By the way, "Sir Duke" is his musical tribute to the jazz legend "Duke" Ellington.

Stevie Wonder recorded a series of records that are literally legendary. "Talking Book"; "Innervisions"; "Fulfillingness' First Finale"; and "Songs In the Key of Life". These are, in my opinion, essential listening for fans of great music.
    "Boogie On Reggae Woman"
    "You Haven't Done nothing"
    "I Wish"
    "Isn't She Lovely"
    "Higher Ground" - Highly recommended
""Living For the City" - Highly recommended
"Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing"
"You Are the Sunshine of My Life"
These are just some of the hit singles that these albums generated. We're not even getting into the 'deep tracks' on these records. There isn't a bad track anywhere to be found on any of the records I mentioned, but definitely start with these to give yourself an overview of one of the greatest talents in the history of American music.
Speaking of American music history, Stevie sings these lines in Sir Duke:
"Here are some of music's pioneers
That time will not allow us to forget
    Well there's Basie, Miller, Satchmo
And the king of all Sir Duke
And with a voice like Ella's ringing out
There's no way the band can lose"
"Sir Duke" refers to the great American band leader and composer Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington. Then there's Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong and the voice of Ella Fitzgerald. If you are not familiar with the music of these legendary icons of American music you owe it to yourself to do a bit of exploration into the contributions they made. Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith and Sister Rosetta Tharpe are also names that you should to a deep dive into. Some of the greatest music ever recorded, in my opinion.

Dude the man is a God and a musical genius. You should react to “you haven’t done nothin” as he gets the Jackson five to be the back up vocalists for that song. He also does a tribute to Bob Marley and to reggae in general on “master blaster jammin” and you may know Jodeci’s version of Stevie’s brilliant ballad “Lately” so you could react to that as well.

I am crying right now because you are a young person listening to music from the past and it makes me happy.

The horn riff is fire and his band is absolutely tight.

Your face says it all, the 70s Stevie is his best decade, that intro ooft, genius, legend, there aren't enough superlatives to describe him.

Not specific to this reaction but I wanted to point it out
It's refreshing to see young people who can get into older music. Keep it coming. Here are a couple of black artists you should see. "Solomon burke - cry to me" 1961. "Jackie Wilson - lonely teardrops" 1959, "higher and higher" 1961

Stevie didn't need anyone else's participation to make a great album. He did it all.

I grew up at the same time as Stevie Wonder! I was about 10 years old when I heard him for the first time on the radio. He was known as Little Stevie Wonder back then, a dynamo of talent! I still have some of his hits on my old 45 records!

Stevies 60's motown stuff is worth a listen. You think his voice sounds great here, go there. I LOVE watching you youngins discover REAL MUSIC. Keep it up my brother, you're only scratching the surface of greatness.

Stevie Wonder had a LIFETIME of creating great music. I remember seeing him singing "Fingertips" when he was just a little kid! It was only "up" from there. He, to me (an old white boomer) was and will always be one of the greatest music creators and performers. It's a pleasure to see new generations discovering him and his genius.

Your reaction is the same reaction we had when we first heard this song. When this album came out it had a seismic effect on music. It still has an effect on me today. I slip right back to that time I heard this on AM radio in the car.
