To never listen to Stevie Wonder is very sad. This man is an Cultural Icon. He has written some of the most beautiful songs ever. I'm glad you are discovering him now bro. This man has been doing this to us since he was 11 years old. This is a true musical genius. Genius is a over used term but not when it comes to Stevie the term applies.

"Well respected in the music industry" is the understatement of the century, bro. This man changed music forever. He was signed to Motown Records at ELEVEN YEARS OLD, and has sold over 100 million records and won twenty-something Grammys. Yeah, he's well respected. 😁 Great choice to start your Stevie journey. Keep going!

Glad you loved this. You should have seen our reaction when this first dropped. Stevie's first hit was when he was 12 "Fingertips Pt 2". Stevie has a lot of hits man. Try "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing", "If You Really Loved Me", "Master Blaster", "Living For The City", "Boogie On Reggae Woman", the beautiful "Overjoyed" and "As", "I Wish", "Higher Ground", and the stunning "Ribbon In The Sky" for just a few of his songs. The only time I saw Stevie was (and don't hate me) when this first came out and he was on the same bill as the Rolling Stones here in NYC at MSG many long years ago. The days man.

"Songs In The Key Of Life". All I can say is get ready for the ride of your life. See, what you don't understand is Stevie does EVERYTHING on his albums. The arrangement of all instruments (every sound), note, voice, layering...the whole production. A lot of artist try to copy his arrangements, but realize his arrangements are next level. Enjoy! It was a thrill to play latest song to friends . no wifi back then. Record players and 8 track and cassette. Only we had to get togetherer to listen. You guys missed it all.
    White boys had Fros
And loved rock soul funk and jazz at once. Ask older people about 60s and 70s togetherness. It was a thing.
Stevie Wonder was a great singer/musician.

His live performances of this are crazy cuz that man just goes NUTS on the keys! Like I remember when I was little, I have no idea what my grandma was watching (this was only like 15 years ago or so cuz I'm only 20 too!) but they were showing his Soul Train performance of this song when he was pretty young and I was amazed when I found out he was blind cuz the way he was jamming those funky keys blew my mind! As a 20 year old I'm so glad I grew up around this kind of music because my little old grandma had some TASTE!
Also: recommend checking out his soul train performance of this if ur just interested in seeing it live, and then also his performance of "higher ground" from a tv show in 1974 (if u search it you will see it, there aren't too many other vids of it).

I saw Stevie Wonder with India Arie in Seattle. Their show was 3 hours of amazement sitting in ahh of such great talent. If I could wish for a do over, I would, but I think it was his last tour. One of my favorites from Stevie Wonder is Sir Duke. I have never watched your channel and came across it tonight because I am having a hard time going to sleep. I like watching you enjoying the music I grew up listening to, Great reaction

There’s a movie called “The Blues Brothers” that came out in 1980. It has a LOT of greats in it... Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, James Brown, Cab Calloway, and last, but CERTAINLY not least, Aretha Franklin. You should do a day where you react to all their songs from that movie.

What cemented my love for this song was when Stevie and his band did this song on Sesame Street (1973)!

You may like The Elgins. Two of their song titles are: "Darling Baby" and "Heaven Must Have Sent You".

That little growl....followed by his scream about 15 seconds later in the middle of the song.= VOCAL CLASSIC.

All studio soundboard. Your electronic sounds today basically come from Stevies studio work. Started singing on stage age 5. His biography is the stuff of legends, and he's still alive!

I think the horns you hear are probably a trumpet; trombone; tenor sax and a baritone sax. The main riff is all 4 but there are also parts where it's just the two brass (trumpet and trombone) and other places where it's just the two woodwinds (the two saxophones). There is also one section near the very end that's a muted trumpet (a mute is a device that goes inside the bell of the trumpet or other horn that make different distinct muffled sounds depend on the mute).

If you like the horns you have got to listen and react to Chicago. The Band not the city.
