And, again in my opinion, Elton John's songs are more suited to his voice. Yes, the covers of Queen are beautiful and the similarity with the voice of Freddie Mercury is exciting, but I prefer to hear him sing with his real voice.

Wrong. He is putting emotion and grit into those high notes, He sings higher notes all the time, without strain. He is putting strain into it because that is the emotion of pain being expressed. This song is NOT a cute little pop ditty. Those who sing it like that are ruining it.
