Cradle Catholic here who wasn't raised in the church.... Father Almighty has been drawing me neigh over the last 16 years, and the quickening has been exponential the closer I get. Once I learned about praying the office by Word on Fire, I immediately was guided to Singing the Hours. Thank you Brother. Vivat Jesus! I wish I could sing, my gift is the guitar.
Thank you so much for this conversation. My heart was so moved, especially when hearing the Magnificat chanted in the church! Tears flowed brothers! You guys are on to something big, I mean really big! France and all of Europe will be brought back in Love with the ever ancient ever new Faith through beauty. Pax et Bonum!
Aint nobody kicking me out of my fathers house....but my father 😅 good job guys spreading the faith 🙏 thank you. May God bless you both for this video.
Kudos, guys. While I couldn't find Georgio's website 😢, I did end up ordering a children's chant book with a built in keyboard from Parousia Media in Australia. God is great!
This made me think of an idea that would be a variation of the LOTH retreats. What if you did the same thing you do on vacation but in the US for a day? It would be picking a city (in the US) with a number of beautiful churches and organizing a group to sing each hour at a different church in the area over the course of a day. Thoughts?
Brother, you belong to a hierarchical church. The pastor is a representative of the local Bishop and has the authority to bless or not bless anything anyone does in the cathedral. You are an American, no matter your origin, and it is hubris not to ask for his blessing before you sing. Do it the right way! Do it the Italian way! You are not a Protestant forcing your personal will on everybody else. Humbly ask for permission of the rightful authority. Your work is wonderful, make this little sacrifice! Blessings.
Love this. There’s no rules against singing in these empty open churches, with the Blessed Sacrament reposed, waiting to be worshipped. If a priest is there, I will often ask. churches are open for prayer. As in the orthodox tradition, it’s deeply catholic that prayer is by default sung. Usually there’s nothing going on or an obvious person to ask. I would never disobey the priest who requests silence.
Years ago when I was a seminarian I was in my nonna's church in San Michele al Tagliamento in the Veneto. There was nobody in the church and I began to play one of the Bach fugues on pipe organ. All of a sudden the sexton, a woman, came over, closed the fallboard and covered the console and told me I had no permission to play. The people in that position feel extreme ownership and usually they are chosen, because they are forceful by nature. I learned quickly to respect their social order which has been operative for millennia.
ive been anti pew for a long time, my reasons have more to do with the liturgical space and how our minds interact with the space created by pews if you ever get the chance to go to a byzantine liturgy go to one with pews then go to one without the difference is insane
@@gabeg_jmj They mentioned Puglia at one point in the video; i cannot remember where. They never mentioned Luisa; I was reminded of her when they mention Puglia. ❤️🔥🇻🇦🇺🇸

It is amazing to hear that church in Parma fill up with the beautiful sound of the music of the faith with only three voices. It gives me hope.
I attend a SSPX chapel and just to hear the Gregorian chant it’s elevates the soul to God. Saint Augustine said to sing is to pray twice

Love this idea. Definitely something to think about...
Wonder if missals prior to ‘62 had lay postures. Missalettes for TLM have prompts for laity so their must be an authoritive ?
Nope! No postures whatsoever. All of those are pious conventions.

What is the year of the Divine Office that you are praying/chanting?
