  • The Lucerne Festival Orchestra is made up of world class musicians who come to beautiful Lucerne every summer to perform and enjoy the weather. Sarah Willis enjoyed the music in this episode but not the weather!

She was born in Maryland, USA and grew up in Tokyo, Boston, Moscow and London. At age 14 she started playing French horn and then attended the Royal College of Music Junior Department in London, UK. She studied full-time at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, UK.
In 1991, she moved to Berlin, where she became Second Horn in the Berlin State Opera under Daniel Barenboim.

About ambience and acoustic, my 3 best concert hall up to now as spectator are the Berliner Philharmonie, la Salle de Musique in La Chaux-de-Fonds (Where I have also song in a choir) and the KKL.
So pleasant seeing this programme with Sarah Willis and all those musicians with this brilliant Strauss work.
Beautiful shot on the terrace up the building, I had already nice time. Playing music and admiring the steam paddle boats on my favourite lac, it is really that, magic.
Bravo Sarah Willis with our typical Swiss alphorn😊

I only wish Sarah had been able to interview Chailly. I am loving these little behind the scenes features!
