@@insidetechltd the q45s came. I have used them for a few days and guess what? I do not like them. They are beautiful headphones but their bass leaves alot to be desired. I have tried to like them but I just cannot get past the sound. Interestingly, they got a very a very poor review from Consumer Reports because of sound. The q20 is was ranked many positions ahead of the q45 in Consumer Reports rankings! So Consumer Reports had found major faults in the q45 sound quality. I doubted Consumer Reports review but now I see their point after spending a considerable amount of time with the q45. However, I still think your reviews are excellent and I will continue looking out for them. Thanks for your excellent work!

I own the Q35s and after watching this review, the differences are too small to make the jump to the Q45s. The differences are just too subtle to be labeled as an "upgrade." Thanks for making this video, it was very helpful!👍
and i have only one kind of issue, when i enter voip on discord, quality of sound drop like a lot, something around 30-40%, if its the same as in q45 i dont think its even worth to consider that thought...

I have q35 already half a year, got it for $90. Overtime it got some problems, but I use it very intensely, for workout and sleep. Still, for $90 I am certified

Like does the touch control get activated when sleeping sideways on a pillow?
Good to see you back! I think it's more expensive to get aptX and that's why lots of brands avoid it (whereas LDAC is free). Glad you don't have the imbalance on your Q35. I had two pairs with the problem and then saw online others had it too, so it seems be a lot but not everyone - otherwise i'd love the Q35! So for side sleeping they are just about shallow enough in the ears so that you can lay on your side with them, but I think you'll need a hand under your head and between you and the pillow. They're not quite small enough to lay directly on them without it being uncomfortable, but for me it's not actually triggering the touch pads! So you might get lucky and they be ok, but I wouldn't recommend it. There are better options for this like 1More comfobuds mini or SoundPeats mini that are smaller and better for side sleeping 👍🏼

I gave it a listen, but they are probably the best sounding tws around! It launched in the uk just recently. I highly suggest giving it a go. There arent much reviews for it too.

Amazing video !!! And perfect timing!! I wanted to upgrade my lower-end JBL headphones which were great at the price but fit was a little loose !! And no earbuds yet !!! But will be definitely buying Both which means I won't have to carry around my headphones !!! When traveling and physically active !!!

Would you recommend this for my use case? multipoint connection to Laptop and android for call in a quiet environment? Other than work, I play some CoD so low latency mode is a huge plus too.

I ordered the A40 and received it on today. I haven't used ANC before so wasn't sure what to expect. I can tell the difference when it's on but it doesn't block out 98% noise (especially my kid's voices) as advertised. They're small, fit well and more comfortable than my old Jabra 65t elite. The sound is pretty nice, I'm happy with it, a great bang for bucks. Now just hope the microphone does well for calls. Thanks so much for your help in selecting a suitable pair of earbuds!

Informative as always, but this 12:50 perked my ears up. I have never noticed this on the Q35 (had mine about 6 months or so, in fact using them now), nor have I seen a single reviewer or comment on it. Weird, maybe there were QC issues with a particular run?

But after two different pairs had the issue for me (and others have since reported it both on my channel and in online forums) I couldn't 'not' mention it. And I thought it was only fair to say that the 45s didn't have the problem. Definitely seems like a QC issue because there was never a software update to address it

Honestly, these are one of the best sound quality : price ratio headphones out there - but i'd need to do some more testing at this price range to give you a certain answer. The Q45 sound better than the Q35 - I think you'll want good treble for those genres so they should be good

I returned my 45 and purchased the 35. The 45 is too bulky. The ear cups are huge and the headband lacks padding causing them to move around on my head, I have a S-M head.
The odd thing I have experienced is that the Q45 seems to have inferior battery life to the Q30's. The Q45 claims to have 50 hours with ANC, but in my experience it seems there is no way it'd get close to that (probably closer to 30 hours, based on having roughly 20% battery life left after approx 25 hours of audio playback), whereas the Q30 could actually reach its claimed 40 hours, which is effectively 10 hours more than the Q45. Has anyone actually tested the real world performance of the Q45's battery life?
Yes, i've tested the real world performance and always do so in case it doesn't live up to company claims. I used to provide my actual playback times too but since this can wildly vary by content/volume etc i've stopped doing that unless it's very different from the claim. But for me they basically matched the claim! So I wonder if perhaps you're listening at a particularly high volume? Or are you using the LDAC codec when you listen? Both of those things will significantly drain the battery life. You should also test until they are fully drained. The battery % may not be accurate or it could be the case that the drain is not as linear as you expect and therefore they could last longer for that final 20%.
@@insidetechltd Well, it could be LDAC. I'd have to check that (I'm using a Galaxy S22 Ultra). The volume thing shouldn't be a factor, since I would have used the Q30 the same way.
Hi, I just got these today, and theres something I want to know about the bass adjustments in the Soundcore app. If you increase the bar does it actually make the bass louder? Or does it just make it more clear?

@@Spoopwoopy To be honest, not great. I can wear these on the smallest setting quite comfortably (normally need to adjust a bit bigger). So they don't get really small like some other headphones do. Small-ish...you should be OK. But small...maybe not

Thanks a lot! So I think with the Q45s you get a wider soundstage (as is often the case with headphones vs earbuds). You also get more balanced sound. The L3P are tuned (by default) to have a v-shaped EQ, overemphasised bass and highs. Now this can create a more dynamic sound, and the highs especially are a lot sharper (a little too high in my opinion, so I always EQ this out). So I think they can sound just as good really, but the experience is obviously very different with over-ear headphones vs earbuds

I don't think it would be A) comfortable or B) effective. Remember there's typically an internal mic used to measure the sound and adjust the ANC, so earbuds would mess with that
I'm not sure about the Life A2, but testing against the A1 (extremely similar to A3i) the A1 has louder bass - especially with the bass booster EQ. The sound isn't as well balanced or as high clarity as the A40, but if you specifically want that heavy bass sound then the A1 (and probably A2) would be better 👍🏼
there is issue with Q35 and I want to know if they fix it with Q45 or not sound quality especially Bass keep Changing with ANC mode Bass is more with ANC and clear but when using ambient then Bass is gone
There is a very small EQ shift when changing the ANC mode, but it's better this year with the Q45 (doesn't become as bass heavy with ANC as the Q35 does)
This is actually good timing, considering I’m having an issue with my Sony WF-1000XM4 whereby the right earbud is now losing battery literally every minute. Knowing that they’re almost always less expensive than the competition, those Soundcore Space Q40 are looking pretty enticing. I have to ask, however, if the EQ shift turns them into bass-cannons with ANC off and/or completely guts the bass with ANC on. That was something I had read about with the Life Q30 and even the Life Q35 headphones.
I'm sorry about your 1000XM4. If you're asking about the Q45 headphones, the BassUp mode doesn't give the same bass-heavy shift as the previous models. The bass is more refined and with the Q45, and the same goes for ANC mode too: it doesn't dramatically increase the bass vs being turned off. You can can hear the difference when you increase the bass (either with BassUp or with another EQ), but it's not as powerful or overwhelming as it is on the Q30 or Q35 especially
Left and right channels in q30 & q35 are equally balanced...it is false that they are not...I own and listen to both frequently, and am thinking about buying q45 for Christmas so I've been watching reviews of q45 , it's only this guy that says not balanced...other than that, good review, cheers
Nah, mine had that problem too. Got them exchanged. Loads of people do on the soundcore community site it turns out. Doesn't affect every pair, but for some it does. He also said he had two different pairs with the problem in his review so its obviously a big problem with them
Yes, some people have had this issue and others haven't. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't point this out - I couldn't in good conscience recommend a pair of headphones without highlighting an issue I (and others) have experienced. That's all!
Sure, I did a lot of direct comparison testing whilst I was making this video: • Design/build quality: L3P - much more premium all round. Same IP4 protection though • Comfort/fit: A40. They fit much more securely, are less bulky, are lighter • ANC: A40 - especially with the low end frequencies • Mic quality: draw. The actual vocal clarity is better with the A40, but the L3P have excellent background noise reduction (it can often be silent even in noisy environments). • Battery life: A40 • Sound quality: L3P (by far). This is ultimately why L3P are more expensive, the sound quality is miles ahead. The ACAA tech delivers much more powerful bass and sharper, more crisp highs. It's a night and day difference. The 'best' one is the one that has the features you personally prioritise. Overall value i'd say the A40. But sound quality is obviously a big factor, so that could be the deal-breaker
A40 are better than NeoBuds Pro. But it's really close between A40 and 1More EVO. A40 are better with low end frequencies, but Evo has a slight edge on mid-high frequencies. So it depends on the environment you're in as to which performs better!
It's also got better active noise cancellation. You can really hear it with the low end frequencies especially (and when you turn it off and just use passive isolation only, you can hear the difference)
It really depends how you rank it. You could argue also 10/10 because of the price. Are you asking about features in particular or just in general? Generally the Q45 are also excellent for the price. A 9 or 10 for overall value and one of the best you can get
In that case i'd say they are closer than you might imagine! With sound it's very subjective, and I think the Q45s have sharper treble than Sony (less of a warm/bass-focussed tuning) so lots of people actually prefer the sound. Perhaps not quite as refined sound with the 45s, but certainly wouldn't place Sony leagues ahead when it comes to sound quality

I'm so impressed with the sound quality it's almost overwhelming, having to "re-listen" my entire music library, just to really get to know what the artists intended, not to mention the noise canceling, just unbelievable. I think the volume balance is even on the q35s now. Mine arrived today and don't have a volume imbalance on Firmware version 1.21. Do your q35s still have this problem? If they do it might just be a problem for your headphones specific.
Mine still have this problem. It's been numerous updates later and soundcore must be aware of the issue since it's quite widespread. So I think it's a hardware issue that may have been fixed with later models that were manufactured.
Initially, no. But after a few minutes I began to suspect something wasn’t right. And once you notice, you’ll never not notice it. I should re-emphasise it’s only during ‘normal’ or ‘transparency mode’. ANC mode is fine. But it’s bad enough that I had to stop using and recommending them
You can, and they’d probably be ok. But there’s no dedicated protection for them, so it’s a risk. IP-rated over ear headphones are rare - Jabra have the 85h which come with IPX4, if you’re interested. Otherwise you’ll have better luck with earbuds and earphones rather than over-ear headphones for the gym 👍🏼

@@insidetechltd the q45s came. I have used them for a few days and guess what? I do not like them. They are beautiful headphones but their bass leaves alot to be desired. I have tried to like them but I just cannot get past the sound. Interestingly, they got a very a very poor review from Consumer Reports because of sound. The q20 is was ranked many positions ahead of the q45 in Consumer Reports rankings! So Consumer Reports had found major faults in the q45 sound quality. I doubted Consumer Reports review but now I see their point after spending a considerable amount of time with the q45. However, I still think your reviews are excellent and I will continue looking out for them. Thanks for your excellent work!

I have q35 already half a year, got it for $90. Overtime it got some problems, but I use it very intensely, for workout and sleep. Still, for $90 I am certified

I have one small question to ask, are the a40 ok for side sleeping? Like does the touch control get activated when sleeping sideways on a pillow?
Good to see you back! I think it's more expensive to get aptX and that's why lots of brands avoid it (whereas LDAC is free).
Glad you don't have the imbalance on your Q35. I had two pairs with the problem and then saw online others had it too, so it seems be a lot but not everyone - otherwise i'd love the Q35!
So for side sleeping they are just about shallow enough in the ears so that you can lay on your side with them, but I think you'll need a hand under your head and between you and the pillow. They're not quite small enough to lay directly on them without it being uncomfortable, but for me it's not actually triggering the touch pads! So you might get lucky and they be ok, but I wouldn't recommend it. There are better options for this like 1More comfobuds mini or SoundPeats mini that are smaller and better for side sleeping 👍🏼

Would you recommend buying Q45 now if I can get them for about $130? I’m looking for greatly sounding over-ear headphones with good enough ANC, and these seem to match my needs. But maybe there have appeared some better options 6 months later that you would recommend over Q45?
I would. I'm actually planning a full video on the best headphones under $200, but it's not ready yet. The Q45 would definitely feature though, possibly even number 1 - they're excellent

Yes I think they would be a good option for your use case. I'd still say the LG earbuds are a better quality option, but obviously they are much more expensive. So in terms of value for money the A40 would be the way to go 👍🏼
I ordered the A40 and received it on today.
I haven't used ANC before so wasn't sure what to expect. I can tell the difference when it's on but it doesn't block out 98% noise (especially my kid's voices) as advertised.
They're small, fit well and more comfortable than my old Jabra 65t elite.
The sound is pretty nice, I'm happy with it, a great bang for bucks. Now just hope the microphone does well for calls.

If you get a chance, I would really love it if you could do a review on 1More Sonoflow. I have encountered quite a few comparisons between the Sonoflow and the Soundcore Q45, but not seen comparison reviews I would consider serious and thorough.
I actually own those and like them a lot, super comfortable! Never thought i'd make a review because I didn't think the interest was there, so that's good to know! Perhaps one for the future on the channel 👍🏼
Informative as always, but this 12:50 perked my ears up. I have never noticed this on the Q35 (had mine about 6 months or so, in fact using them now), nor have I seen a single reviewer or comment on it.

Yes it's really hit and miss it seems. But after two different pairs had the issue for me (and others have since reported it both on my channel and in online forums) I couldn't 'not' mention it. And I thought it was only fair to say that the 45s didn't have the problem. Definitely seems like a QC issue because there was never a software update to address it

Honestly, these are one of the best sound quality : price ratio headphones out there - but i'd need to do some more testing at this price range to give you a certain answer. The Q45 sound better than the Q35 - I think you'll want good treble for those genres so they should be good

I returned my 45 and purchased the 35. The 45 is too bulky. The ear cups are huge and the headband lacks padding causing them to move around on my head, I have a S-M head.
The odd thing I have experienced is that the Q45 seems to have inferior battery life to the Q30's. The Q45 claims to have 50 hours with ANC, but in my experience it seems there is no way it'd get close to that (probably closer to 30 hours, based on having roughly 20% battery life left after approx 25 hours of audio playback), whereas the Q30 could actually reach its claimed 40 hours, which is effectively 10 hours more than the Q45. Has anyone actually tested the real world performance of the Q45's battery life?
Yes, i've tested the real world performance and always do so in case it doesn't live up to company claims. I used to provide my actual playback times too but since this can wildly vary by content/volume etc i've stopped doing that unless it's very different from the claim. But for me they basically matched the claim!
So I wonder if perhaps you're listening at a particularly high volume? Or are you using the LDAC codec when you listen? Both of those things will significantly drain the battery life. You should also test until they are fully drained. The battery % may not be accurate or it could be the case that the drain is not as linear as you expect and therefore they could last longer for that final 20%.
@@insidetechltd Well, it could be LDAC. I'd have to check that (I'm using a Galaxy S22 Ultra). The volume thing shouldn't be a factor, since I would have used the Q30 the same way.
Hi, I just got these today, and theres something I want to know about the bass adjustments in the Soundcore app. If you increase the bar does it actually make the bass louder? Or does it just make it more clear?
It makes it louder. You're adjusting the volume of each of the frequencies, so in effect it's sort of both (it becomes clearer 'because' it's louder)
Is there still the imbalance audio issues on the 35's? Also would the 45's be alright for small heads? Im tempted to get either one with my Christmas money since i do have the life p3's but fancy a set of headphones. Any help would be appreciated!
Yes, they are still present on my models today. Not everyone seems to be affected though! A safer bet is going for either the Q30 or Q45 though

@@Spoopwoopy To be honest, not great. I can wear these on the smallest setting quite comfortably (normally need to adjust a bit bigger). So they don't get really small like some other headphones do. Small-ish...you should be OK. But small...maybe not

So I think with the Q45s you get a wider soundstage (as is often the case with headphones vs earbuds). You also get more balanced sound. The L3P are tuned (by default) to have a v-shaped EQ, overemphasised bass and highs. Now this can create a more dynamic sound, and the highs especially are a lot sharper (a little too high in my opinion, so I always EQ this out). So I think they can sound just as good really, but the experience is obviously very different with over-ear headphones vs earbuds

I don't think it would be A) comfortable or B) effective. Remember there's typically an internal mic used to measure the sound and adjust the ANC, so earbuds would mess with that
Hey! I have the Life A2 NC and LOVE the bass. Would you happen to know if the A40 happens to be even better bass or even the A3i??
I'm not sure about the Life A2, but testing against the A1 (extremely similar to A3i) the A1 has louder bass - especially with the bass booster EQ. The sound isn't as well balanced or as high clarity as the A40, but if you specifically want that heavy bass sound then the A1 (and probably A2) would be better 👍🏼

Bass is more with ANC and clear but when using ambient then Bass is gone
There is a very small EQ shift when changing the ANC mode, but it's better this year with the Q45 (doesn't become as bass heavy with ANC as the Q35 does)

This is actually good timing, considering I’m having an issue with my Sony WF-1000XM4 whereby the right earbud is now losing battery literally every minute. Knowing that they’re almost always less expensive than the competition, those Soundcore Space Q40 are looking pretty enticing. I have to ask, however, if the EQ shift turns them into bass-cannons with ANC off and/or completely guts the bass with ANC on. That was something I had read about with the Life Q30 and even the Life Q35 headphones.
I'm sorry about your 1000XM4. If you're asking about the Q45 headphones, the BassUp mode doesn't give the same bass-heavy shift as the previous models. The bass is more refined and with the Q45, and the same goes for ANC mode too: it doesn't dramatically increase the bass vs being turned off. You can can hear the difference when you increase the bass (either with BassUp or with another EQ), but it's not as powerful or overwhelming as it is on the Q30 or Q35 especially

Nah, mine had that problem too. Got them exchanged. Loads of people do on the soundcore community site it turns out. Doesn't affect every pair, but for some it does. He also said he had two different pairs with the problem in his review so its obviously a big problem with them
Yes, some people have had this issue and others haven't. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't point this out - I couldn't in good conscience recommend a pair of headphones without highlighting an issue I (and others) have experienced. That's all!

Sure, I did a lot of direct comparison testing whilst I was making this video:
• Design/build quality: L3P - much more premium all round. Same IP4 protection though
• Comfort/fit: A40. They fit much more securely, are less bulky, are lighter
• ANC: A40 - especially with the low end frequencies
• Mic quality: draw. The actual vocal clarity is better with the A40, but the L3P have excellent background noise reduction (it can often be silent even in noisy environments).
• Battery life: A40
• Sound quality: L3P (by far). This is ultimately why L3P are more expensive, the sound quality is miles ahead. The ACAA tech delivers much more powerful bass and sharper, more crisp highs. It's a night and day difference.
The 'best' one is the one that has the features you personally prioritise. Overall value i'd say the A40. But sound quality is obviously a big factor, so that could be the deal-breaker
How does the a40’s ANC compare to the neobuds pro and the 1more evo?
A40 are better than NeoBuds Pro. But it's really close between A40 and 1More EVO. A40 are better with low end frequencies, but Evo has a slight edge on mid-high frequencies. So it depends on the environment you're in as to which performs better!

Hi, you said that ANC in Space Q45 is better than Life Q35 - but is it actually better or is it due to better passive noise blocking?
It's also got better active noise cancellation. You can really hear it with the low end frequencies especially (and when you turn it off and just use passive isolation only, you can hear the difference)

It really depends how you rank it. You could argue also 10/10 because of the price. Are you asking about features in particular or just in general? Generally the Q45 are also excellent for the price. A 9 or 10 for overall value and one of the best you can get

In that case i'd say they are closer than you might imagine! With sound it's very subjective, and I think the Q45s have sharper treble than Sony (less of a warm/bass-focussed tuning) so lots of people actually prefer the sound. Perhaps not quite as refined sound with the 45s, but certainly wouldn't place Sony leagues ahead when it comes to sound quality

I'm so impressed with the sound quality it's almost overwhelming, having to "re-listen" my entire music library, just to really get to know what the artists intended, not to mention the noise canceling, just unbelievable. I think the volume balance is even on the q35s now. Mine arrived today and don't have a volume imbalance on Firmware version 1.21. Do your q35s still have this problem? If they do it might just be a problem for your headphones specific.
Mine still have this problem. It's been numerous updates later and soundcore must be aware of the issue since it's quite widespread. So I think it's a hardware issue that may have been fixed with later models that were manufactured.

Initially, no. But after a few minutes I began to suspect something wasn’t right. And once you notice, you’ll never not notice it. I should re-emphasise it’s only during ‘normal’ or ‘transparency mode’. ANC mode is fine. But it’s bad enough that I had to stop using and recommending them

You can, and they’d probably be ok. But there’s no dedicated protection for them, so it’s a risk. IP-rated over ear headphones are rare - Jabra have the 85h which come with IPX4, if you’re interested. Otherwise you’ll have better luck with earbuds and earphones rather than over-ear headphones for the gym 👍🏼
