That is the truck I wanted to build in the 70’s. I built a Scout with 16 inches of lift. I would never have those ugly ass huge rims . Yours are perfect. More tire means you can hit anything. Very well done.
I am happy to see wheels with a proper diameter. I do not understand why people are putting oversize wheels in 4wd trucks nowadays, except for the fact of trend hopping.
Do you mean big 22" wheels with really low profile tires? You're right. It is ridiculous. I have seen plenty of trucks AND cars that have blown tires. I'm sure it's because they have no cushion. Not to mention, it must be a rough ride.
Its all about form over function. Mall crawlers........ Fake people and fake trucks. Anybody who does real off roading knows the larger the sidewall the better.
YES. I hate the big wheels and "square" shoulder tires. Big rounded mud tires with big cleats and bulged sidewalls. That's what it should look like. Gumbo Monster Mudders forever!
tristannolan85 if their on 22s- 24s with rubber band all terrain tires those aren't mud trucks they are asphalt Queens haha as for 20s that's the wheel size for military 53" tires.
I run 22.5 Alcoa wheels on my f450 and not that stupid super singles on the rear and front it should be super singles in front duals in back with 44 inch semi tires I love the combo! But I can't go down to 15s because of my brakes so I use rims 18 inch or 20 inch rims how are you supposed to clear your brakes
40 inch tires were the norm on my block ,on trucks FRESH from the dealers,Then go brake the drivers side frame rail, and destroy the fenders ,even with cut fenders, ,,that's a sweet piece of MAN HISTORY THERE!👍
Someone said: "The lift has created shaft angle/length connectivity issues" lol.... That's called Pinion angles 🤕🤣 On trucks that tall/big, it'll nearly needs a dropped transfer case. BECAUSE even if you moved & re-welded the spring perches to achieve a near correct pinion angle AND drive shaft length, it'd still be rough AF on the U-joints, pinion, pinion bearing and drive shafts. EVEN if you had a minimally 4.56 geared front Dana 60 AND a Detroit locked 14 bolt Full Floater rear, that'd scream pinion bearing pain SHORTLY after 🤕😥🤣Those 1/2 ton axles under there are probably hating life. Forget about any ruts or axle flexing, OR going over any woop-dee-doos or rough terrain....Only Flat land for this nice looking late 70's step-side tho !!!
Badass truck? You obviously don't understand that 1/2 ton axles will snap like a wet oreo cookie with tires that big. If the truck had 2.5 ton Rockwells under it with 49" tires I'd be impressed but what your observing here is a dainty princess that a small pea would easily bruise
My 84 k20 is on 44s I’m trying to find a good step to make getting in and out easier and can find nothing. Did you ever put steps on this monster if so what kind
A lot of rubber off-road small rims is a good idea if you actually use the truck for what you built it for and this isn't just for looks but must invest in some beadlocks if you use that thing the way it's meant to be used and an on-board compressor
had a 92 full size chevy blazer had silverado thing on side by door frame and it mademe think decal for it a blazer not suburban am i wrong its sitn in a part yard my son in heaven and his little truck next year me GOD didnt take me my truck his he took blazer THEY SIT TOGETHER AND I WAIT FOR HIM TO COME BACK IM A CHEVY GIRL >>like a stone "ROCK "chevrolet

Seriously doubt it bro, sounds more like 100 horses on a good day and that's with the truck washed and engine warmed up because everyone knows that your vehicle always feel and run better when they're freshly washed. p.s., no front drive shaft because the lift has created shaft angle/length connectivity issues

jeesus christm that thing is lifted way too high and those tires are way too big. That thing would be way more functional with 40's or 38's and 6" of that lift. Its still pretty cool tho .

Yes, the low pro tires a sad….

I agree, it looks awful, I can't stand those giant rims and thin tires on a lifted truck
YES. I hate the big wheels and "square" shoulder tires. Big rounded mud tires with big cleats and bulged sidewalls. That's what it should look like. Gumbo Monster Mudders forever!
I'm not a chevy man, but I have always liked the look of the older chevy pickups. VERY cool.
I’m a chevy guy but I love the looks of all the older trucks they were so much better
0:08 Started bobbing my head, that trucks engine produces a solid beat, Literally music to my ears.
Captain Obvious good ol American muscle
thats the way mud tires should be. 15" rims with 49" tires. all rubber. cant stand seeing mud trucks with 22-24" rims

@@sethlinerode1047
Why are your brakes in the way? Did you waste money on over size brakes for "performance"?
I don’t know why this was in my recommended but I’m not disappointed
Holy sh*t dude that is the coolest truck I've ever seen
I have a 1999 but I love square body style the best and the dimensions of the frame makes them climb better than most trucks
I'am glad they still make thoughs tires

Bluetooth front driveshaft I see... nice!

That’s a sweet lookin 2 wheel drive ya got there buddy I would not have made a video with out my front drive shaft on just my thoughts
sounds like a boat motor, I love it
When you can tell the firing order of the pistons just by listening to it
But can you?
1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2
Pretty cool, not my style but I give you props for the throw back style!
Sounds okay I guess it's not finished because the front drive shaft not connected

@@campnoutdoors1621 that truck rescued many people in the Dallas area during hurricane Harvey in 2017
I prefer Ford's but I love this too.

Sweet! And a stepside too! My fav. Would like to see semi style stacks on it. Maybe a diesel eng. also. (just my opinion) Rock on with it bud!!

*FINALLY!!*
Other trucks lookin like: ⚪rims ⚫tires
Awesome truck!
Bad ass truck
That is a "Square Body" (73-87/91) Chevy folks. A fine example of a period correct build I might add too.
Old School Bad Ass !!!
This is the main reason why America was created
nice but uhhhhhh, where’s the front driveshaft ??? 😂
idk but try to check for it again when he runs you over
Love it
Nice sounding truck, I didn’t not see a front driveshaft🤔
Badass truck
Bad ass truck! Do a cam upgrade sounds like a tractor still bad ass
1 wheeler squeeler if you can even break the tire loose in gravel.Wheres the front driveshaft?
Love it.
How do you get in the truck?
My 84 k20 is on 44s I’m trying to find a good step to make getting in and out easier and can find nothing. Did you ever put steps on this monster if so what kind
Jeff F im 6-3 and had a hard time climbing in, steps should have been a must
That is badass
No front driveline?
Probably was still being made
were u find springs that size

What's your axle gear ratio?
Hard to see are those 1/2 ton axles?
Yes I believe this Chevy started life as a 1500 I think this was mostly a mud runner
How easy was it to get in?
Where did u get this lift? 24"?
All meat and no wheels, as God intended!

Cool truck just needs bigger axles
so much money spent but none spent on the things that matter👍👍👍
That's a 6 leg truck half ton those tires are gonna kill shit... Spiders first stay out of the mud but cool for the street definitely A cool stepside
amazing
You'd really like it if all 8 cylinders were firing
it was costom lift.? how much for the lift..
Edgar Diaz the springs can be bought for about 2600 then there's driveshaft work steering to deal with brakes as well it can add up pretty quick
Dana 44 axles and 49 inch tires. LOL
...and no front driveline on that poorly built pile of shit either. LOL
doryman1000 probably can't keep it in
doryman1000 too much of an angle will spit the front drive shaft out. Probably don't need it anyway.
