1987 GMC with 12" Superlift all supension, NO body lift. 350 TBI with 110,000 miles. Military trans with shift kit. 21/44/R15 Trxus tires on Mickey Thompson wheels.
I have driven both big rim and 15" rim on the 44s I just gave my son a 84 GMC with close to 550 hp 383 on stock suspension. We will be restoring it over the next few years.
My uncle had one when I was a kid same color as the bottom of this one it said Bonanza on the fender tag 44 ground hogs on it coolest truck I've ever been around
Bad ass!, if you do 15" front springs from ORU in so.cal, you can clear the 44's easy, and a rear shackle flip will give you 3" more in the rear...hydro assist steering is a must with those meats!..im building a '86 K30 single cab longbed with 44' pit bull rockers...15" lift will make it happen.
I'm looking at this nice truck....the whole time thinking about snapped axle shafts...I like this but would never build without dana 60 front and a 3/4 ton full float 14 bolt. They literally bolt right in.
The truck wasn't built for off roading. I drove the truck regularly with interstate travel. Also the truck was driven from middle Tennessee to Michigan with no issues. Sure 3/4 ton axles would be the preferred choice but I wouldn't think necessary for regular street use.
cody bartlett Sure do, the guy I got it from sold the tires so it had little 265 65 18s off a chrysler on it so I got some 35" mickeys. Just made it a 383 and Im going through the tranny right now.
Tombo yeah I seen it on craigslist with those tires and wheels looked horrible but thats sweet u made it a 383 u should post a pic of the way it looks now
Good to see the tires match the lift and the rim size match the tires People be doing some sub human shit to there chevys and it makes me sad for the trucks but good job
It's sad we went from cool trucks like this. To idiots with paper thin tires. Trucks that sound like hitting a trashcan with a baseball bat. And the suspension in the back being so low that it grinds the fenders.
Gotta ask how’d ya do your lift was it a kit or did you kinda do it ya self or what cause I have a rough country lift in mine right now and they don’t make anything over 7 inch lift
Tim Chambers the truck was built when I bought it but it appeared to be stock. I would say well over half the splines were showing where the two halves slide together. Definitely not right.
Yes I sold it. A guy and his son came down from Michigan and bought it. Unbelievably they returned their rental car and drove the truck back home to Michigan from Tennessee.
I was the kid that brought this truck to michigan sad to say I sold it my insurance company wouldnt insure it for some odd reason to bad bc it was an awesome truck
Now this is what I wish the newer trucks could look like with these tires..instead big rims and little meat on tires..nice truck
It looks awesome but it's dated. My Yukon would walk this truck with 20's on it. This truck is all show. She looks sweet tho
Yeah I'm with you on the big rims I'd much rather have some sidewall not to mention it rides way better and looks much better

I feel honored to have my truck listed as a suggested video for this truck video😁.This video got me started on my build👍
Just started on a 84 GMC for my son. 550hp 383ci stroker and stock suspension now.
Dang running those tires on 6 lug axles too
Man just tell me you still have it.
That's one real American truck.
Head turner is an understatement!
Ohhhhhh she sounds good!
Love it! What a lifted truck is supposed to look like!
This truck looks Cool 😎.
It reminds me of Colt Seavers ride.
Flying high
My first love was an 87 long bed 4x4 first year for fuel injection!!
ITS AMAZING!!! i would love to have a truck like that
I mean angles.

I'm more a Dodge W200 guy but that thing is sexy as hell!
I love that car so much...at the most with the round eyes

No stretched tires, and no squatting junk.
Thats a bad ass truck
Wow that is crazy, I'm about 100% sure this is the truck I bought this summer.
U said u think u bought this truck what part of Michigan are u from?
cody bartlett Grand Rapids. Bought it from a guy in Lansing.
Tombo yup thats it I sold it to a guy in battle creek and he sold it to a guy in Lansing. Do u still got it?
cody bartlett Sure do, the guy I got it from sold the tires so it had little 265 65 18s off a chrysler on it so I got some 35" mickeys. Just made it a 383 and Im going through the tranny right now.

44x21 on 6 lug axles 😅
Awesome truck nice to see a truck with real tires not this new shit with 30 inch rims and can't dive over a curb
So 36’s are the way to go
SEXY
Yes it did rub. The truck could not really flex without the tire getting into the fender.

nice truck
did the lift bolt on or did you have to adjust the angle of the pig?
The lift was a bolt on kit but I did not install it. The previous owner installed it.
Sweet truck! What's your take on superlift about to do an 8 inch on my 78 and I'm trying to find a good lift kit.
Obviously, I never took the truck offroad but for street use I have zero complaints. The truck sat nice and level.
@@GarageKulture13 that's gonna be the same use as my truck lol thank you for your input that helps alot
No problem.
Cool truck👍 I have a 1975 square body GMC Sierra. I was wondering what kind of tires, lift kit and size wheels did you get?!
12" Superlift, 21/44-15LT TrXus tires, 15 wheels but I don't remember brand.
@@GarageKulture13 where u from I was wondering if 12in lift and 44s are legal in Michigan
@@Thomas-dz7hz I'm in Tennessee and am unsure of Michigan laws.
BEAUTIFUL BEAST xD
did you need to lenghthen the driveshafts?
Yes
What axles are you running. Dana 44 or 60?
WildCard that more then likely is a 10 bolt front end 60 would only come in 8 lug aka he’s gonna be going through front and rear ends quit oten
Hey, are those rims 15 x 12 or 15 x 14 wide? thx! bad ass truck! ;o)
I don't recall. They were on the truck when I got it. Sorry I was not help.
@@GarageKulture13 Ok Thx Man! ;o)
You still have the truck
That's a true 4x4 truck don't understand the new style because the new trucks can't carry 44s. That's sucks
Good to see the tires match the lift and the rim size match the tires

What kind of transmission is in it?
Probably a TH400 out of a military truck
R700 overdrive came in those new .
Gotta ask how’d ya do your lift was it a kit or did you kinda do it ya self or what cause I have a rough country lift in mine right now and they don’t make anything over 7 inch lift
Dalton Bowman it was a 12" SuperLift
www.superlift.com/12-inch-lift-kit-1973-1991-chevy-k10-and-gmc-k15-4wd-rear-spring-kit-with-superide-shocks
Coty Carr ohhhh my bad I wasn’t even thinking it would be a brand
Dalton Bowman no problem.
Did you have to replace drive shafts?
I didn't build the truck so I'm unsure. The front one was actually too short and was just barely on where the two shafts slide together.
The rule for proper ds angels is equal yet opposite.
looks bigger than 12" lift! looks good tho
WHAT KIND OF BLINKER FLUID DO YOU USE??
How much???
What kind of truck is it i know its a 1987 gmc but what model
It was a Sierra Classic.
Front drive line what did you do
Tim Chambers the truck was built when I bought it but it appeared to be stock. I would say well over half the splines were showing where the two halves slide together. Definitely not right.
What size are the tires in this video.
Seth Shoemaker 44x21
I remember my first lift
Did you happen to eventually sell this?
how did it turn? any rub?
Is it for sale
I sold it about 4 years ago.
ohhh baby
Yes I sold it. A guy and his son came down from Michigan and bought it. Unbelievably they returned their rental car and drove the truck back home to Michigan from Tennessee.
I was the kid that brought this truck to michigan sad to say I sold it my insurance company wouldnt insure it for some odd reason to bad bc it was an awesome truck
That is awesome you all drove it back. I miss that truck.
***** yeah me too it was a hell of a truck, drove 13hours back home no problems didnt overheat one bit.
How much gas did you end up using?
***** it was pretty close to 300$ haha but it was worth the ride. Surprisingly I had it goin 65mph the whole way home
Gas mileage?
