"Not every day is the superbowl" they say. Take comfort in the fact that you Boys ride in 2 of my most favorite trucks... That right there would make the bad days not so bad if you think about it!

    Yes the union life is very different. Been in a union warehouse and a union driver. The modern union only benefits the workers that screw up. If you are a stand up productive employee you'll never see the benefit of a union. I could go on and on. You are doing the right thing Kam, just be patient. It is their world and you may have to come back there. Don't ruffle any feathers. Love your channel and the content. Saw Norm Butler on one of your shorts. Great guy!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work!!

    I used to haul logs to a paper mill that was union. Them guys didn’t give a shit. The worst part was the round wood yard (where the logs got delivered to) was closed usually 3-5 days a month due to ‘maintenance’ . But we all think it was all because they had enough wood to last a few days and just didnt want to work.

    You're 100% on the union. I started at ABF Freight in May, I'm only here for the health/dental insurance benefits for my family and I. It's literally the best you can get 100% paid by the union. Pay is $30.24/hour, overtime after 8 everyday. But people DEF lazy on the breaks, smoke breaks, etc. Everyone wants the gravy runs. Non-union could do the same exact work for way less $$. Just my opinion. My wife and I in mid 30's so we need some major dental work and health issues to get sorted out before I leave the company, again that's the only reason I'm staying.

    I’m union and the healthcare benefits we get are about the only benefit. Being a truck driver I don’t take my breaks like “you’re supposed to”. Most union workers are “lazy” because they know it’s harder for a company to fire you. For the most part I believe non-union companies are treating their employees good now. The Unions of played their part and got all the changes and improvements needed in the job sector. Our retirement plan is better than a 401k too.

    Man if you only knew about the union jobs you shouldn't comment. There are contractual agreements that are strict. When I left the ILWU in the 90s I was throwing over 660 cases per hour. It's very hard work and most truckers couldn't hack it. Trust me.

  • @donaldmosley2488
    @donaldmosley2488 Год назад

    The organization and being able to have benefits especially a pension are a huge plus. The problem comes when the power is abused or they are not taking into consideration economy, profit margins etc ive witnessed companies go under do to their selfishness then everyone loses. Btw ive been treated worse at non union warehouses as well. Unions great in concept and theory but if theres no discipline or consequences man will always abuse their power. ( companies and workers)

    When I worked at the Fred meyer DC in puyallup. Our fork lift drivers would always work through there first break up to lunch because they were trying to get the drivers in and out. Until the company made them follow the union rules and take break exactly at the same time every day. Total bullshit. Union has a ton of good stuff and a ton of bad stuff. When I was at Boeing, it was just pathetic how many lazy workers were there.

    I’ve been a union member for 10 years. And honestly it depends on the person there’s plenty of guys here that a shit ass employees. Then we have plenty that work hard and get things done. And we get the same benefits and protection and the shitty
    ones. It depends on the people and the company you’re working for.

  • @wesleygriffin5746
    @wesleygriffin5746 Год назад

    I’ve been working union jobs most of my life and it really depends on what company you’re working for. I worked for a dirt hauling company for 17 years and they were union but it was go go go go bust your ass! And now I am at a different company and we are also union but it is a lot of lollygagging and we don’t finish today. There’s always tomorrow and a Longshoremen. Those guys are the worst. You are basically working on their schedule you guys are different. You’re independent truck drivers and you’re all about get going don’t waste time but when you’re at a yard and you’re working under a union people you’re basically under their time

  • @ThatBlueKW
    @ThatBlueKW Год назад

    I've worked 2 union jobs, the railroad and in a trucking teamster. Both reward the guy doing the least and the second you show initiative or bust a@# you get swarmed by all of the slowest guys being pissed off you are actually doing your job. Protecting your pay making sure you are paid what you are worth is great but all the lazy effs really do make it a pain in the a#$ to just go to work, get your s(*& done and go home. There are tons of union jobs out there that do not operate in the 2 examples i had to endure but eff that. Whole reason i went O/O. Done with dealing with other peoples bs.
