I literally downloaded the game 5 minutes ago, it too me all of 2 data cubes and 1500 gold to get Formidable. I suppose it's some sort of beginner's luck.
I tried this with Enty, Hornet and Yorktown. THink I still perfer Ent, ESS3X and Sara for Eagle CV backline. Kinda a shame that Hornet and/or Yorktown didn't get some kind of sisterly boost ability.
I disagree with Enterprise having a 0/5 support ability rating, she should have at least a 2/5. After all there is no stronger debuff than DEATH in any game.
The main support points for Enty are rare, thoigh at least 1/5 would make sense. She has the global bullet removal from CV strikes, but in certain situations I had Enty just tank over half of the damage that bled through to the backliners.
You're not going full slow meme enough. Equip her with the Swordfish squadron so that just as her skills slow is running out, the swordfish torps hit and slow them for another 8 seconds
actually I'm thinking same. I still can't understand why people praise ships like E , Monarch or Ayanami when those ships are almost exclusively selfish and I'm not talking about healing. Helping others deal damage that they would otherwise not deal counts aswell. Just because Ayanami is being handheld by Jintsuu/Nagato/Amagi in getting MVP doesn't mean she should be Tier 1 . In fact I can replace her with idk Nanoda or Poi for very similar effect(or actually improvement !), yet I cannot replace things like Amagi , Nagato or speaking of Formidable for same effect with anyone else. That is why I have succesful fleet in both PvP and PvE - because I didn't invest in neither E , neither Ayanami or Monarch . I stack buffs to great effects - in fact I think the real torp goddess is Jintsuu herself because with her around all other DDs and CLs turn into torp goddess ... not just Ayanami that is in fact not that impressive on her own. I'm really not hating on mentioned ships - but just because some ship would win 1/1 with other ship or DPS race - doesnt mean in full 6 shipfu fleet they are equally valuable. In fact that is why Enterprise doesnt qualify anymore to be T1 with all new powerhouses who are strong alone but also benefit fleet big time. So yeah you are right even more slow from Swordfish isn't bad because while she slows down enemy - 5 other ships land hits more reliably . Never enough slow in my book :P.
That's a pretty viable way of doing things if you aren't going for MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY. If you are, such guides are pretty useful. If not, make your fleets as you please. Personally, I go for a combination of both.

Quick Question: Wouldn't it be more effective to have her reload be ~1 second *slower* than your BB reload? As you mentioned yourself, the first salvo of a BB is very likely to hit (especially in manual play), so slowing down the enemy for that first salvo isn't going to change much. If the enemy is slowed down before the second and third salvos are fired, that would increase their chance of hitting by a lot, no? On a side-note, is it possible to perma-slow enemies with Formidable/Ark Royal/Duke of York and the core shop Swordfish bombers?
Let's say you have 21s reload time on BB and 22s on Formidable. The first 3 shot timing will be: 21/22 42/44 63/66, you see where this is going? Eventually the slow won't be effective if the fight drags long enough. But yes in general having Formidable and other cooldown be within 1 second apart is okay.
Formidable is the reason why i started playing Azur Lane yesterday. I kept seeing her fanart all over twitter lol. I've wasted so many cubes and still havent gotten her but i've gotten 2 Zaras so far.
@@BigBoyz33 Enterprise is good, but remember that this game requires you to save up for "limited" event ships. do a little research on ships that are worth to invest on. also, enterprise is one of the ships that gets a turn in the 80 medal exchange. so you could possibly get her without building. in short, dont spend too much on non limited builds.

While she and Zara are lovely it breaks my heart to seeing the rest of my pasta boats being overshadowed so hard. Poor Lit, Giulio, and Trento, you three are still beautiful. I do like the extra lines after oathing though, honestly it's what I expected in general when the system came out and with this hopefully they'll start adding them to the other girls. Wedding skins are nice but I would rather have new lines personally.

She is strong in fact baring Roon she is best one you can get until Roon is maxed which takes a long time. So Zara is make do of which yeah that's great honestly.
If you have Formidable launch her airstrike after another carrier (like Enterprise), if that carrier is using the Ryuusei (homing torpedoes), the homing torpedoes actually hit a surprisingly high amount of times. This is because during the time it takes for the homing torpedoes to reach their target, Formidable can launch her airstrike & slow them down (If she fires 2nd). During the time it takes for the first airstrike (Enterprise) to launch the torpedoes & drop them, Formidable can charge her airstrike & launch it just after the first set of homing torpedoes is dropped. The slow that Formidable applies lasts just long enough for the already set torpedoes to reach their target (if she fires 2nd) If Formidable launched her airstrike before Enterprise or launched the homing torps herself, the slow wouldn't last long enough for the homing torps to reach the enemy, but if she fires her airstrike after Enterprise, then the slow is applied just at the perfect time.
Very fun ship indeed! Not your average slap-same-gear-as-yourfriend-and-go. You should mention your Formidable and her teanmates' spec if you're demonstrating it, like what gears, tech buff, and cat buffs you're currently having. This ship is quite tricky..
everyone has different status on fleet-tech/meowficers/oath so what works for me might be slightly off for others. The only way to maximize is to calculate yourself.

For some reason I'm rather disappointed - her fans can get just crazy about how cool she is and are not willing to listen to anything except "ENTY STRONK!!!111" Nevermind, Formidable is most adorable anyways and is still in the top-4 of all CVs. She is my choice! :)

Queen Elizabeth is a must since formidable is from hms faction, Queen Elizabeth can buff formidable's stats by 15%, or you can use sirius to buff her aviation stat
I honestly wonder frankly why Saratoga Retrofit isn't part of the god tier carrier group. She basically gives us everything we need, incredibly tanky and powerful. Witch Prank is her version of double damage and capable of doing DOT from Burn and Flood too (and with the dive bomber buff, that is some serious damage, indeed) and with every airstrike, it boost the damage of vanguard for 8 seconds. Don't get me wrong, Saratoga retrofit is still a damn beast and well deserving on her spot on the tier list, but I feel like she should have been part of the god tier carrier group. There's a reason why I use Sara Retrofit over Enty, she provides more synergy with my fleet composition with that Fleet Carrier skill and able to deal additional damage with DOT
I am looking at swapping the Queen's consorts of Duke of York and Monarch out for Formidible and Centaur with my Neptune/Leander/Aurora van. How bad is this idea?
You know what could be broken in PVP? Formidable launching her planes after Enterprise and Essex. Also, she's the full damage build. Since she launches slower, Enterprise and Essex will get their airstrikes off but just ahead enough that torpedoes don't land yet. And when Formidable does pop her slow, it would be absolute carnage. The sea is now torpedoes. This is assuming you're buffing Enterprise and Essex with Baltimore in the front.
Seeing how Formidable is on par with the top 3 carriers, and not overshadowing them like how she was hyped up to be on release, I feel the pressure of not getting her yet has lightened.
Only 68 levels (Commander) and therefore stuck in 9-4 (cleared it but can't enter 10-1 before reaching level 70) also have only a single place in dock and had to delete 5 commons to reach that (Trying to collect all shipgirls in the dock) and only have 186 gems so can't expand dock. If I did (by buying the gems necessary) and then got the commons back I would only have 6 open places so the next event would make this kind of worthless. Anyway should I buy gems. Don't intend to use on anywhere other than dock space. Did buy a skin once. It is what got me here in the first place. But even if I didn't I would still be bleeding gems since there was no way of getting new gems outside of buying and clearing the main story in three stars. I am conflicted.

Can you do a similar guide for Zara? Or at least debunk the SAP gun? i'm seeing a lot of misinformation about it's performance. A lot of people are saying it's really good but even with her skills the Roongun isn't much worse and still does a lot better against light.
After extensive testing, her absolute stall period lines up with TDBs arriving if you have the high octane aviation fuel equipped. I am now decimating PVP with Hood and Warspite that line up exactly with her air strike from the 2nd and 3rd salvos which would target the scout fleet if they are frozen in place.
Ark Royal is a budget alternative for players that don't have Formidable or Centaur. Especially for newer players. Just like Leander retro is budget Belfast and Furutaka retro is budget Takao.

Just got into the game a few days ago and I had previously made an account on release but never played much so I had a ton of resources to start off with along with Veteran rewards. Super glad I started in the middle of this event and got Formidable today and Hood before she left the exchange. Formidable is going to be in my fleet for a long time to come.
I got her pretty early and have been using her since. I had her gear ready so as soon as i pulled her I could use her in the event. Her performance is amazing and she looks amazing, not to mention she's voiced by the tsundere queen herself. Definitely a top tier shipfu both in and out of combat. I do feel sorry Essex since she just came out a season ago.
Any thoughts on w13 nerfs? Personally i hate them since it was already easy enough with all the op new ships we were getting and so far pretty much everything i was taught to be afraid of turned out to be a disapointment and its not looking to change anytime soon.
i dont rly care, the hardcore players are such a small percentage of the player base its probably in their best interest to make later worlds more accessible. I have high hopes for the new Rogue-like Dungeon mode though, seems like it could be a challenge.

Im planning to use Firefly-Ryuusei-Alba or Firefly-Firebrand-Alba. It is the AA im interested in. Firefly have 4x20mm. Either Ryuusei or Firebrand also has quite decent AA. But im completely blind with timing.

Wish there is item that can increase reload stat of CV. Leveling bunch of CV/L for reload stat will take very long time and will increase stat by how many? 14? Does leveling CVLs to level 120 really necessary to sync with that battleship gun?

York Retrofit has two skills that specifically mention auxiliary gun but she can't equip anything other that torpedoes. Is this a bug?

The second slot is 135% efficiency and the third slot is 135.6% efficiency so how come third slot is lower please enlighten me
The 135.6% is the result of using Albacore with the first skill :)
Does swordfish ability stack with formidable?
yes and no. the slow does stack but with swordfish's longer cooldown formidable will fire last in general, so theres nobody else to slow for.

Queen Elizabeth is a must since formidable is from hms faction, Queen Elizabeth can buff formidable's stats by 15%, or you can use sirius to buff her aviation stat
I honestly wonder frankly why Saratoga Retrofit isn't part of the god tier carrier group. She basically gives us everything we need, incredibly tanky and powerful. Witch Prank is her version of double damage and capable of doing DOT from Burn and Flood too (and with the dive bomber buff, that is some serious damage, indeed) and with every airstrike, it boost the damage of vanguard for 8 seconds.
Don't get me wrong, Saratoga retrofit is still a damn beast and well deserving on her spot on the tier list, but I feel like she should have been part of the god tier carrier group. There's a reason why I use Sara Retrofit over Enty, she provides more synergy with my fleet composition with that Fleet Carrier skill and able to deal additional damage with DOT

You know what could be broken in PVP?
Formidable launching her planes after Enterprise and Essex. Also, she's the full damage build.
Since she launches slower, Enterprise and Essex will get their airstrikes off but just ahead enough that torpedoes don't land yet. And when Formidable does pop her slow, it would be absolute carnage. The sea is now torpedoes. This is assuming you're buffing Enterprise and Essex with Baltimore in the front.
Sandy retro can give everyone 75%+ AA reduction with her skill proc, 3 carrier is in no way a good choice in PvP.
Seeing how Formidable is on par with the top 3 carriers, and not overshadowing them like how she was hyped up to be on release, I feel the pressure of not getting her yet has lightened.
Only 68 levels (Commander) and therefore stuck in 9-4 (cleared it but can't enter 10-1 before reaching level 70) also have only a single place in dock and had to delete 5 commons to reach that (Trying to collect all shipgirls in the dock) and only have 186 gems so can't expand dock. If I did (by buying the gems necessary) and then got the commons back I would only have 6 open places so the next event would make this kind of worthless. Anyway should I buy gems. Don't intend to use on anywhere other than dock space. Did buy a skin once. It is what got me here in the first place. But even if I didn't I would still be bleeding gems since there was no way of getting new gems outside of buying and clearing the main story in three stars. I am conflicted.

Can you do a similar guide for Zara? Or at least debunk the SAP gun? i'm seeing a lot of misinformation about it's performance. A lot of people are saying it's really good but even with her skills the Roongun isn't much worse and still does a lot better against light.

After extensive testing, her absolute stall period lines up with TDBs arriving if you have the high octane aviation fuel equipped. I am now decimating PVP with Hood and Warspite that line up exactly with her air strike from the 2nd and 3rd salvos which would target the scout fleet if they are frozen in place.

Timing BB slavos with formidable is significantly harder compared to ark royal. So you could say Ark is an easier-to-use version of formidable

Ark Royal is a budget alternative for players that don't have Formidable or Centaur. Especially for newer players. Just like Leander retro is budget Belfast and Furutaka retro is budget Takao.

Just got into the game a few days ago and I had previously made an account on release but never played much so I had a ton of resources to start off with along with Veteran rewards. Super glad I started in the middle of this event and got Formidable today and Hood before she left the exchange. Formidable is going to be in my fleet for a long time to come.
I got her pretty early and have been using her since. I had her gear ready so as soon as i pulled her I could use her in the event. Her performance is amazing and she looks amazing, not to mention she's voiced by the tsundere queen herself. Definitely a top tier shipfu both in and out of combat. I do feel sorry Essex since she just came out a season ago.
Can't wait for Indomitable to arrive, she's been teased in the event story

Personally i hate them since it was already easy enough with all the op new ships we were getting and so far pretty much everything i was taught to be afraid of turned out to be a disapointment and its not looking to change anytime soon.
i dont rly care, the hardcore players are such a small percentage of the player base its probably in their best interest to make later worlds more accessible. I have high hopes for the new Rogue-like Dungeon mode though, seems like it could be a challenge.

Im planning to use Firefly-Ryuusei-Alba or Firefly-Firebrand-Alba.
It is the AA im interested in. Firefly have 4x20mm. Either Ryuusei or Firebrand also has quite decent AA.
But im completely blind with timing.
The AA from non-fighter aircrafts are worthless, they only deal Anti-air damage when you use airstrike. So firebrand and firefly are pretty bad.
@@Just3c Better than nothing ? As strike craft, they're not bad also in my opinion ? Not the best certainly.
@@edhikurniawan ye they are not terrible, but the best aircrafts are fairly easy to obtain so theres no real point on using them.

Wish there is item that can increase reload stat of CV. Leveling bunch of CV/L for reload stat will take very long time and will increase stat by how many? 14? Does leveling CVLs to level 120 really necessary to sync with that battleship gun?
