For me to have enough time to hook up to a tanker, I need the tanker to have a straight run between waypoints that’s about equal to the distance between the London and Paris. That should give me about 30 minutes before the tanker starts turning. ;)
thank you!! One question - when adding a second tanker - you know, because RAZBAM couldn't be bothered to add BOTH of the functions to the MPRS, thereby completing something for a change - do you have to also put a different freq than the first tanker you dropped or put the same freq?
Did something change in DCS recently? I set this up exactly like you did in the video (except altitude and speed) and the tanker just circles around the first waypoin.
If you have 2 wps the race track option should be available from the drop down for orbit type. I won't rule out DCS changing, it's the down side to playing a beta.
How would you set up several tankers in close proximity to one another running in parallel? I understand how to do this with the waypoints but not sure how to set up the TACAN stuff. When I try to select the unit from the dropdown it only shows one of the tanker callsigns. Trying to make a training mission for multiple people to practice AAR at once without worry about bumping into one another behind one tanker.
I usually copy and paste the units and separate by 2000ft. Then put them on top of each other. Then I just go in and link the TACAN to each one. It should always give you the unit name to link to. I've never had it only show one. Make sure that each tanker is in its own group.
There are probably a lot of different ways, but the easiest is probably to set the tanker to RTB when empty. Then set a trigger to spawn another tanker once the tanker lands.
It's really sad that the DCs over the years haven't evolved or improved much, I'm talking in terms of the structure of the game itself, many areas that haven't been addressed. I can say that I'm a veteran of this simulator, I've had it since the beginning, I've had more than 4800 hours of flight time, I have practically all the modules, you can imagine what I spent. Eagle Dynamics is lazy or is out of ideas..i mean none, everything is done by the community ED doesnt even care or try to make this simulator fun, I don't know if the developers are empty-headed or if they are afraid of bringing in someone from outside to give ideas, how come we don't have a much more attractive Hub a Hanger to check your fu^%$ing planes you bought to check liveries just something , complete or redo that stupid logbook you have with something the pilot feels more attracted or motivated to look at and after fly. How come they haven't yet implemented a system of weekly or even daily challenges to give pilots a good reason to fly, that would be great for community dynamics, to see what time you did and where can i improve, a more organized kneeboard system with tabs and a home hub page, when you are inside of the plane sometimes we have to turn 50 pages to find the right one...come on now then you can pin it , there's so much that wasn't done like crazy, a few days ago I went back to dcs because i missed it after almost a year, and I got bored with friends from an old squadron 1,30 hors later everyone just wanna leave, I see that it's still the same after 1 year...where is a map of the Mach loop it would be an excellent idea and so simple to do, I don't understand how a game in which many people spend an average of 500-1000 euros doesn't have an index of the best pilots etc...little maps like Mach loop or sidewinder, CFB Goose Bay and many more around the world where real pilots test their skill of flying . these fan boys who come always in defense of ED in the forums, Jesus is so annoying when we speak about polishing and ideas for the sim these kids dont even hesitate and attack you like a pack of hienas saying @aaaa durpy durp this is a military simulator durp durp not GTA @ yeah we know that durpsmelly milkshakes..i even dont know what to say, things never moved forward, i just saw it yesterday and today.. i bought the F15E yesterday and i was very exited to fly with the boys and yeah its a great aircraft but after 2 hours meh ---comer on now i paied 58eur to get a bit more entertained where are the things to do.? aaa ok ask the community because ED is to busy with money and using the word passion while hyping the heck on everyone with new i mean old planes , just a cash cow at this point, we can say that many "kids" ruined great ideas that never came to life, . Another thing: The same bugs keep going on after 4-6 years?, for example with F14 or F16 evem the Fa-18 their own child , i love it dont get me wrong, but still have features they said would be implemented but were blown in the wind. I feel right now if was possible to ask for a refund I would ask and not think twice, and probably buy just the f16 probably along with Syria, just a little while ago I was in a server with some friends and after 45 minutes we were already bored, a game that requires 300 euros at least to have some fun would need to be and have a much more attractive mechanism that is actually connected to real life not meaning to add some arcade stuff, im against that, but more pilot stuff , gaining reputation(after Colonel thats it no more progression as a individual pilot), new challenges etc.. RIP DCS? sorry for the rant brother... i was here because i wanted to do a miz file for the f15E to refuel and i couldn't get the tanker radios to work..imagine why, yeah the kc-135MPRS still wont work with the boom just basket...is this for real? if wasnt for this video i would be in loops here, Anyways the map editor is OK , I really love this sim otherwise i wouldn't have invest so much money and time since it came out, there is something pretty special about this sim. the servers were very unpopulated as well right?, ..take care guys and sorry for this msg was too be small but ended up in a love-hate letter. sorry my English Portuguese here
Which is your favourite aircraft to do air to air refuelling in?
Been trying it in the Harrier recently which is a bit like learning AAR over again after mastering it in the Hornet
The harrier is weird with it's probe behind you. I found once you get it a couple of times it becomes like the hornet and is fairly easy to line up :)
Su-33 as it's so easy but the Harrier is good to once one learns the trick
i Really like the F-14, F-15E because of the right offset position, the mirage is fun as well. cheers

Yeah, the tankers in DCS do like to turn, it always seems that once I get hooked they are turning again.
Very useful! Thank you very much!!!
thats a great Tutorial, thanks

I always do a different freq, the AI are easily confused. It would be nice to have both fuel deliveries working on one though 🤣
@@DCSChopsticks Right? Thank you for the response!!
When i press my button for communications menu the menu doesnt open any idea why

@@DCSChopsticks I made it work. Instead of two way points I had just 1 and put the racetrack command at waypoint 0. Thanks
I am having an issue getting the Tanker and AWACS to launch from Homeplate after I cross a waypoint trigger, any recommendations?
You could set up a radio menu to trigger it manually if the other trigger fails or you could try switched condition instead of once.
@@DCSChopsticks okay thank you

how do you have a tanker continue after it is out of fuel? or does it do that automatically?
There are probably a lot of different ways, but the easiest is probably to set the tanker to RTB when empty. Then set a trigger to spawn another tanker once the tanker lands.
I can’t get the tanker to not orbit on 1. I think I’m doing it the same as you.🤷🏻♂️
Try a racetrack orbit, set the orbit on wp0 and add wp1. Make sure the aircraft altitude and orbit altitude are the same/close.
#crazyrussianpilot :- > Top СУПЕР👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
how do i make mine flyable and fly it around
Find a mod.
You forgot the most important bit which is to set the tanker to immortal so frustrated pilots don't keep shooting them down :)
for me the F-14 is a PIO nightmare
and i need to watch a tutorial to figure out how one does AAR in the A-10
ram the boom into the nosecone 🤣
@@DCSChopsticks tried that... boom just went through the nose
🤣, don't ram it as hard 🤔
