Brings back memories of when my friends and I would sometimes replace two or three a night in the drive way. The weak spot of the Camaro, trans and drive shafts. We build them in shop class and gave the cops a run at night. It was nice to be alive in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Real cars with room to run. Do have to say the cops were nice and understanding as long we were being stupid by ourself.

I have a 71 Camaro that has an aftermarket crossmember. I took a piece of 3/16 flat bar, drilled holes, and welded bolts in place. This then drops in from the top and I then only have to use the impact from the bottom. Do not have to use a wrench on the top. Works great.

When doing my 67 Camaro, had the Muncie rebuilt by T and B Transmissions in eastern Washington. Still have that transmission today after 14 years. Might try them for parts. Keep the videos coming.

Thanks for the heads up on the parts idea. We have a couple of places that we are looking at for parts for the muncie. One of them is one that I have used in the past up in New York.

Been there, done that, on the side of my friend's house, laying in the street with the car on a sloping, 8'-10' wide side yard. We were removing the automatic trans. We tried to level the car out as much as possible. We ended up with my friend lowering the trans on to his chest and sliding it off his chest onto the street

Bill, the owner, says that he remembers his brother telling him that he broke the four-speed.

A torque setting of three uggaduggas. How many oomphgrunts does that equal? 🧐😎
