    I appreciate the close up views, especially modeling how the garage door gasket will sit on the floor seal. Thanks.

    A very cheap solution is to prop 1 or 2 floorboards against the bottom of the garage door (depending on width), cut to size, at 45 degrees. Simply knock it flat to open. You can add triangular end pieces if you wish, and cover it with vinyl sheet to protect it. Cheap but effective.

      Glad it helped. Fixed my wet garage floor and cold drafts. I heat my garage in winter to 55F to keep all my valuable 'stuff' from freezing. It did cut last winters heating by delaying the propane fill by a month.

    You found one of trade tricks, go ahead and install a garden hose also, you’ll be happy in the end. That storm shield is great WHEN you have concrete that is level. Most only buy it for sloped floor, at best you create a “DAM” for the elements outside, UNTIL you open the door, then the elements (typically rain water) pour right in. Those that NEED these products, NEED concrete repair. For those in ideal condition environments the info you shared work best and make consistent improvements.

    Very nice. You’ll have to do an update on how the bottom rubber holds up with vehicle’s ect driving in and out to see if that wave like bottom seals up

    • @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch
      @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch  3 года назад

      Good idea Will. We shot this in late Sept. and so far with it's great. Even a strong east wind directly on the garage door cannot push water from rain or snow under it. It really is nice having a dry garage floor again. Thanks.
      Update: I have to be careful around the bottom plate when bringing in stuff like the snowmobile, snow blower to but boards down first to protect the rubber. So far I love it.

      Sorry to hear that. At Homedepot.ca, search for "Gray Garage Door Threshold" for the floor seal and "Garage Door Bottom" for the door or top part. Key is to align the floor 'lip' to the door's upper curved part. First I installed the upper door seal (one fits one way). Then I cut a 2" wide floor strip and tested exactly where to position the floor for the tightest seal. Once done, mark the in/out and layout the full strip. Worked great for me.

    Problem with rubber seal is it can be eaten by critters thus access in garage.

    • @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch
      @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch  Год назад

      That is not a problem I have experienced with these door sealers. Only damage comes from me forgetting to carefully cross the threshold with heavy equipment, tractors, ATVs, bikes, mowers and other needed ranch gear.

    With the glue down seal, how do you get water out when you wash the floor?

    • @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch
      @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch  Год назад

      Good question. A push broom gets most out and over the lip then its my wet shop vacuum to get the floor totally dry.

    • @AlecPeirceAtTheRanch

      Yes, its a very hard rubber so cars, tractors and such will not permanently depress it.

Note some viewers are in different continents so specific products are not always available to every viewer (some don't realize that). The door seals were from Amazon, a Google search will bring up equivalent items near your home. Hope this helps Mark.
