It be interesting to test 2200 mah li-on powerbank with 18650 rechargeable cell it's about £2 it's great deal if you want to test them out kind regards from Billy Joe Gilmour
Oh yea I love the panasonic NCR Bs for the money. I have put these in 10s6p configuration into the rollator wheelchair thingy of my grandmother (no joke) and she is doing long range missions now!
@@RagTheNutsOff Yes! I always buy the sony murata, they are multipurpose, the discharge max is 30a, it fits a wider range of models instead of only low draw gliders. Solid cells.
I like the 26650 but I tend to use what I have in overstock like currently Samsung 18650 with 3500 mAh and 11A max for 3,30€ or 33€ in a pack of 10 incl. free shipping. I had 5 of those from the lawn mower battery pack rebuild left over where they had performed before pretty good: 2400 working hours and 1500 charging cycles Before we had a chinese best kit as lawn mower battery and that was half the price and was dead after 467 working hours. Therefore quality is king ... even though the use case is quite different, lower Amps for 90 minutes or higher for 4 - 10 minutes if I am not sailing - a yacht ...
I like the 18650GA, and they have impressive specs, but I've found, after several batches, that they barely live up to those specs. The 18650B are VERY conservatively rated on capacity. I just got a used batch, the first one I charged took 3600mah+. I've never had a GA cell take that much. But, yes, the 10A discharge of the GA cells is more suited to this hobby.
What do you charge your lion packs at? Also in the USA there is a place call the 18650 battery store. I have been getting cheap laptop batteries off amazon and taking the batteries out. 9 US dollars for 6 cells with free shipping.
try thid german professional service and genuine cell dealer with cheapest prices like 10 Samsung 3500 mAh for 30£ incl. vat + incl. german shipping , so shipping UK might be a bit more. They had been exporting to EU but preparing for hard brexit things are changing, even at customs warnings that orders arriving from UK in 2021 ordered in 2020 have to be declared ... Just ask them for a shipping quote This is the by far cheapest offer in Germany for a 13 Ah Samsung cell used in tools + e-bikes www.ttt48.de/akku/lithium-ionen/18650/samsung-inr-18650-35e-36v-37v-3500mah-lithium-ionen-akku.html?sort=1

Another option is the Sanyo cells -- they're rated for ~10A maximum discharge.
You can get these for 3.25 in the EU from NKON.
I didn't know that Nik, Ty!

I am using 6s2p Murata/Sony 18650VTC6 to power my twin-rotor helicopter. No issues so far.
i HAVE HAD GREAT LOCK WITH THESE INR18650-30Q 3000mAh 20A Discharge Current I love your work thanks!
Hey Tab, that's fabtastic to hear. And of course, thank you 👍 Matt
I've just made a 6s1p pack for a friend using the molicell 21700s
Happy days! That's really into tomorrow with those 👍
Go the SAMSUNG 30Q. Cheap and 20 A continuous, although I run 10-12 amps max.
Cool update cause the one i found has the safety

Using NCR 18650GA for most applications. better than NCR18650B in every way.

If you must solder (decent spot welders like the 737G are like 80$, just saying) you can order Cells with Nickel taps already spot welded to them
Hey Vincent, yep there are a lot of options out there for spot welders. Maty
@@RagTheNutsOff Try the cheap $17 diy portable welder kit on banggood. I just got one it works great with a simple battery mod.

Hey Sam, I charge at below 1C. So for example all my packs I charge at 2.8A even if they are 3400 or 3600. Matt
there are some lovely 3d print files for endcaps available on thingiverse
There are indeed! I have some injection moulded ones too. But for 2S1P in a low, low weight application, tape is the best. Matt
Reasonable prices per cell just the £60 min order price that stops me getting some 😕

Having to spend a minimum £60 to order anything...really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth tbh..😤
Howdy Kyle, yep its a wholesale site, hence the cheaper prices. Matt
