$11 a month to have a large chunk of the keyboard taken up by buttons to do things that could have been achieved by a desktop icon or a phone hotline? I feel like even if you were the specific target market for this feature you'd at most be pressing it maybe once a month! And if you weren't tech savvy enough to click an icon on the desktop, how would you be savvy enough know to press the button and navigate the onscreen interface? Absolutely nuts choices from HP
3:44 Wow this is really true. I had to look it up Is BMW charging a subscription for heated seats? Yes, “BMW starts selling heated seat subscriptions for $18 a month" Absolutely crazy.
Lisa is awesome. Rock solid, does the research, and presents things as they are. I never feel like the reviews are slanted in any way because of a protection of a vendor/reviewer relationship.
HP brings us beauty in their laptops. I have an HP Chromebook in white. I then bought a MacBook pro and returned it immediately. I love my HP and touch and decided to upgrade my HP and the backlight is so pretty as it makes me want to pick it up all the time maybe one day they will give us color backlight options.
Lets reiterate. HP wants to charge $11 a month for dedicated support where you must go through an AI first. Not a live agent. They're trying to take your money and save themselves the hassle. Amazing strategy /s
there's more, they are so confident you'll need this support using their device that they make a dedicated keys for this. this definitely makes me feel more safe.
Lisa’s reviews are always the best. The one big disappointment with this laptop is the soldered RAM and storage. Really disappointing to see. HP is killing it with the design here though. I’d love to see some more companies follow suit.

Great review Lisa and the staff! As for the laptop... eeasch. Tried my first -and last - HP laptop, the Spectre x360. In many ways I loved that thing. But HPs lack of support killed it. No pen drivers for Windows 11. Really? Flaky battery that swelled. Flaky touchscreen drivers. Flaky screen splotch issues. Just call it a biscuit. Lots of users with similar issues. No real response or sense of responsibility on HP's part. If you buy a consumer Windows laptop, expect it to be extremely disposable with disposable quality and no real post-sales support. 30 yrs+ Windows person, finally got an Macbook, warts and all. It's either that or get a business Windows laptop. And I've killed every single one of those in 3 years, sitting on a desk. Go figure.
Absolutely, I'm scared to buy another HP laptop only to have the battery swell like it did on the Spectre. When you search the HP support forums, you see all the messages about swollen batteries on the Spectre, but afaik, HP never issued a recall.
7736U is a slightly overclocked refresh of last year's Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U and in this video, it was said multiple time that it does not beat Intel which is not true. In literally every multi-threaded workloads, it beats all the 12th and 13th Gen U series and P series Processors while consuming far less power. In this review itself, the R23 benchmark showing it is significantly faster than i9-9880H which is a 45W CPU and can go up to 90W+ and this one is beating is by a huge marging while consuming 25W. The other reviews I have seen, it just around 8% slower than 12th Gen i7-12700H placed in Thinner & Lighter laptops like Lenovo Slim 7 Pro i. In Single-threaded benchmarks, it is around 10% slower at best.
but a long hour multithreaded workload this laptop is silent and performs better than intel 12th gen, its a AMD /HP CoEngineered device. Thin, silent, better performance,14hr battery, touch screen cheaper 8 core chip. lack of upgradabilty is used for larger vacuum chamber for silent good performing device.
Thanks for a great review. I wanted to like this laptop but a couple of the short comings kill the deal. Firstly the lack of a headphone port is a big minus. The are a number of disadvantages with using bluetooth for audio. Freelancers do audio. It's a shame as the B&O audio is usually noticeably better than the audio that comes with other laptops. The lack of a full size HDMI port is a minus. I never know what I'll encounter when out and about. I travel really light and don't want to be bothered with yet another dongle.
New viewer and subscriber. This is awesome review. I have not seen review like this in decade. Refreshing to see in compare to all bunch fake reviews on youtube in form of Top 5 or Top 10. Real like all the key points on performance, connectivity and showing guts under cover. Maybe could use little more on if there is anything unique about this loptop and any other good usage besides freelancing. Still I would rate 10 out of 10. Thank you for awesome job.
like the new(ish) intro! possible to sound-treat room and use boomed mic? I'm guessing it would be hard or you would have probably already done it, but thought i'd ask.
I will never buy a car that requires a subscription to use installed features and will never buy a laptop that requires a subscription for basic troubleshooting assistance.
It's good that they still put the company name below the display, because I keep forgetting which device I'm using! And I'm very happy that I can now see, that I'm using a Bang & Olufsen sound system even when the device is closed! Those are the innovations that puts HP apart from Apple and DELLs XPS who not even write the name of the product somewhere! MacBooks and the XPSes are much to clean and good looking... that unnecessarily attracts thieves!
Another great review! HP is getting ridiculous with their charges. Can’t use the printer you buy if you buy $$$$ ink cartridges from hp. Do I own the printer or am I renting it? Sorry to go off track. The laptop looks beautiful but I’ll pass.
Could you please do reviews of P and T series Lenovo? I don't know why tech reviewers don't review Lenovo workstations series. All they review is X and some Legion.
HP made it to where I'd never buy their products again after they started their scam with their printers years ago. Instead of replacing the ink after it's actually out, they made to where you have to replace it after a certain amount of printed pages, and they made it a hassle to use refilled cartridges. Now they try to get you to sign-up for an ink subscription plan. Nope!
@@mr.ditkovich6379 The new Phoenix cores (7840) has better IPC, and better Graphics. You can do some searches to find comparisons between old/new. But assume new is 15-20% better. Anything with a 3 is simply rebadged last gen with maybe a slight clock increase and Gen4 USB-C
