I'm Japanese and didn't realize how beautiful my country is. Thank you very much for showing me so many beautiful views in Japan! I miss you guys already, but can`t wait to see your next great adventure in South Korea😄Have a safe trip with Trudy!
The most impressive fact about Japan are Japanese people, with their politeness, kindness and willingness to help whenever you need help.I hope I will visit too this country sometime. Thank you for taking us along your trip and i hope everything will go smooth in your future experiences.
I'm so glad you managed to get to South Korea wthout too much stress. You sure had a fantastic time in Japan, now let's hope your time in Korea is just as enjoyable. All the best!
Hi hope you enjoy your adventure in Korea, slightly different to Japan. I spent nearly 2 years in SK back in 87-88 and stayed in Pohang just up the coast from where you docked in PUSAN not Busan. Im sure its changed since I was there but even so I thoroughly enjoyed my time and the people.
Pusan is actually the old Romanization system which used much harsher consonants than actual Korean. Busan is the correct way to say it under the new system and sounds closer to 부산.
A Harbor (or Harbour) Pilot is a mariner with intimate knowledge of a particular body of water. They will come aboard arriving and departing ships to assist the ship's captain in navigating the confined waters.
What a amazing journey. My heart was racing for you and quite emotional when Chris was in the terminal waiting for Marianne you looked so lost. Enjoy the rest of your journey and looking forward to seeing Korea. You have both brought the world into our living room x
I wish Uncle Sam would have come back to me and said we can't send you to Vietnam in '66. Good luck and love your videos. You guys have the patience of Jobe and the wisdom of Solomon!
I heard that South Korea doesn't allow Google to use its map information, so you have to use domestic apps there, like Naver or Kakao. Good luck with your back way home journey.🤞
30:30 He's not a pirate! A “pilot” is someone who helps dock a ship. They can be found in any port, and mainly help large ships (ferries and even aircraft carriers!) dock safely in port. Welcome to Korea :)
I have the same Ducato Fiat, but mono coque: if you have a truma fan, without turning on the heating, set the fan to minimum, close all the side windows and leave a porthole open to a minimum, in this way the floor first cools down and then the side walls, preventing the formation of heat. humidity, if it is really hot, turn the ignition key backwards, pushing the button on the ring and also turn the Ducato's fan on to minimum, it is calculated that it does not consume the battery by design, pointing it at the windshield. This prevents it from overheating. - Ice and snow: buy two or three rolls of flower cellophane and roll it externally from one door to the other, passing through the lady driver's viewing area on the windshield. Create a mini cavity and ice will not form on the glass, try it even if it is very hot, it should still work as an insulator.
Pete from Poole - Really enjoyed this episode, very stressful for you, but you both deal with anything with such a positive mind set. So welcome to South Korea have fun and be safe - PS my bother lives in Telford so when you make it back with Trudy I'll make a special trip up for the welcome home celebrations safe travels
You have done so beautifully to manage so well. Japan has shown you so much. Sorry it was so miserably hot. It is so difficult to enjoy life when the heat keeps you in misery. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
So happy everything went well and you made it to your next destination safely. Love my morning coffee and watching your show. Thank you so much for taking us all on your wonderful adventures 💓
You guys are so brave and amazing. You are diffently role models for those who want to be adventurous, but to afraid to take the risk. You have proven it can be done, you just got to want it bad enough.
I’ve been via the Hakata ferry terminal a couple of times, and it was already stressful enough working out what to do as a foot passenger. I couldn’t imagine taking a vehicle across!
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. So sad to see you guys are leaving Japan. Japan is such a beautiful place. Congratulations on making to South Korea.
Quite impressive. I watched your youtube to get used to the British accent because I am living in Cambridge UK and was surprised because you visited my hometown. I don't know you are still in Korea but enjoy your trip to Korea and have fun. will keep following you up.
Well at least you weren't separated from Trudy on that trip. It was kind of like taking a ferry. Hope you'll have a wonderful time in SK as well. Beautiful people. Very friendly and love everything Western 😉 Take care my friends ❤
Really enjoyed your Japan videos, now to look forward to your Korean adventures. We took the ferry from Fukuoka to Busan and fell in love with that city. I hope you can spend a bit of time there.
Such a dedicated adventure. Not so many person are able to leave their comfort zone (9-5 job) but you choose to get over it and livin your life to the fullest. I wish you all have a safe trip and nice journey 😊
The small boat that joined your boat was a pilot ship, pilot ships are used to guide very large vessels into dock and are manned by experts who know the local waters inside out, and I believe that while the master of the pilot boat is onboard he / she has total command, even over that of the Captain.
I’m glad you made it safely,,,,, it’s so interesting all the things you have to go through especially with Trudy. Interestingly enough I do know a RUclips family that just moved to Korea,,,,don’t know where, but their channel is MochaMilk. They have some adorable dogs, Wooyoo and Mocha~~~and a very sweet nice family.

You drove through Kitakyushu where I live to get to Munakata. I know the campanile wedding bell tower at 8:00 in your video well. Then you probably drove over the red bridge (WakaTo bridge) next to my home. Had I known I would have waved to you! 😅
The ship docking to your ferry was the harbourmaster. Its a person who is experienced about the harbour the ship is docking at and parks all ships into their docks as he is the most proficient.
My god Taiwan would love to have you - Taiwan has the highest concentration of mountain peaks over 3000 meters in the world 286 peaks. Excellent camper life and great relations with Japan and it has daily ships

I’m ferry relieved that you made it over there in the end
I’d check out getting a mini split AC system for your van. They make them for RVs and vans, and they’re very effective.
Japan over already.. I think South Korea is going to be exciting.. great work in making it there.
Wow!Glad you got through all that! Border crossings let alone ship jumping is an anxiety buster! Enjoy!

The crunchy vegetable in the side dish was likely daikon radish kimchi. Be prepared for a lot of spicy dishes ☺️
Have ice put in front of the fans that helps

It's the same here in Ireland rosslare to France the pilot boards the ship close to rosslare or roscoff to bring it into and out of the Dock
Talking of toilets with a view, the ones in Skyfall Lounge in the Delano in Las Vegas have a pretty spectacular view.
You need to read up on what a ship pilot does in a ship. He takes the ship in to the berth.
You are driving a van without air conditioning on in 37c !
