That girl on the mantle was absolutely beautiful! How sad this was somebody’s life and now it’s falling to pieces. Life is only a vapor!😢
Being 62 the interior design is definitely late 60's to mid 70's. Back in the day the Zenith console t.vs were considered high end and came with the first remote controls, which were seriously clunky and it was easier to just change the channel manually. Lady of the house was definitely a gifted artist and beautiful. Crying shame the house was allowed to rot as so many others. I'm a big fan of yours and other young folks explore channels and the appreciation ya'll for documenting the days gone by!!
Thank you for that information! And thank you very much for your support!
Hello Barbara how are you doing?
Hello Barbara how are you doing?
@Barbara Hineman In the 1970's we owned a Zenith TV that had a remote control that emitted a high pitched ringing sound when you'd press the buttons to change the channel. We had to tape our dogs id tags together because the jingling sound of the tags would cause the channel to change. I remember the sound that the tv made when changing channels, it was very similar to the sound that a starter on a car makes when starting the engine.
@@francoamerican4632 I think that was the TV that my grandparents had. The remote was attached to their TV by a long cord. If I got the chance I would turn it on and just change channels because I loved that weird chugging starter noise as it cycled through the channels. Probably wore the thing out 🤣
The one thing I love about your videos is I see that even the millionaires who live in mansions still have cramped closets and junk in their kitchen cabinets- just like me! haha
It always amazes me watching these videos of houses that have been left to decay after so many years of life, joy, memories, and happiness. This puts things into perspective and I am convinced that what matters really the most is the memories that you make and leave...thanks for sharing this video
This house was nice but the artwork for phenomenal. This lady who lived there
was very talented. It’s a shame that the artwork is just sitting there getting moldy
and rotting away. Like you I am always amazed by all the clothing left behind.
The family could have given it to charity instead of just leaving it there to get
ruined. Thank you for bringing us along on this explore. Stay safe and well.
The dates on the medications would be so easy to check and give an idea of when the home was abandoned. Interesting explore. Def 70s vibes.
Hi my name is Bonnie and I'm 78 years young and I live in Salt Lake City Utah USA while home is oh this home is absolutely beautiful you bring back memories to a house no longer has love in it but you bring everyone back and you make it love again which is so beautiful. My favorite thing about the house was the China that was left behind I love old China it's a shame that somebody won't come and collect it and cherish it the way they did it's a shame that it's just gonna sit there and rot what time . Keep on doing what you're doing this wasn't an amazing video and I truly love all your videos💜
Hi Bonnie! I love old china, too. Did you happen to recognize the pattern?
Why on earth don't the relatives donate or sell all those shoes and anything else that is in reasonable condition? I can never get why people are so wasteful and complacent about stuff that underprivileged would be very grateful for! We are a very wasteful society, are we not? I have only recently been watching your videos and liking them very much. Keep up the good work, greetings from the far north coast of Australia!
So sad that the home and goods were left to rot. You would think her artwork alone would be important to someone in her life. When I see these abandoned homes I’m reminded at how fleeting time is. Fill your life with adventure not things. Nothing is going with you 6 feet under💜
Black mold... you bring that "art" you also bring spores
You kept referring to Jack Nicholson. Jack Nicholson is the actor (“The Shining”). Jack Nicklaus is the golfer.
wow you are definitely correct, Jack Nicholson is also a master golfer.
@@marlenefannin6913 ......
Yep he is....
Both men are golfers' so he's technically correct
@@crystalturner152 but the tape didn't Nickolson 😁
Yeah I was thinking this too. I kept thinking jack Nicholson. Jack Nicholson. Wait he's the actor.
Im huge fan of vintage yellow/gold furniture and decor. I would say mid 60's and 70's on alot of whats still in the house. I would love it renovated back to exactly as it was 😍😍
Has anyone else noticed that this guy sees everything as amazing? Lol. Every house he goes into is AMAZING!
“Let me show you these beautiful stairs, through these beautiful doorways with the very beautiful curtains!” 😂😂😂 I thought it was just me!! Lmao very respectfully- but none of that era is my taste in decor but it was theirs and they did take great care of their home. So sad it went to waste by not l keeping the house up after they sadly passed away and selling it again. It’s a shame.
Or crazy.
Would you rather listen to somebody talk who's like well this is stupid... Here's another boring house? Plus one would have to assume if you are doing these types of videos it's because you find it awesome. His enthusiasm makes the video More fun to watch!
I knew of a man who redid some 50's chairs for me to look like cool new retro who could've worked a wonder redoing that classic couch! Most of us watching say the same thing no doubt "what a shame" to have gone to waste, THANKU BB for this (and All) Tours you take Us on :)
Absolutely love this house! So many memories and articles left behind.
This is not a late 1800 build. This looks to be around 1950's. You can tell by the moldings on the floor, the staircases and the style on the outside. The bifold doors also are a clue.
OMG Thank you for saying that I thought the exact same thing. Obviously he is not an expert on anything
Thank you. On first glance I recognized it. They are all over the American south. They are called neo colonial. They were popular from the late 50s to the 70s to a much lesser degree. Raleigh North Carolina has thousands of them.
Yes, my old house was built in 1951. It also had hardwood floors covered by carpet.
Why are you rude just enjoy the video@@kathleenluciani3456
Bankz: I’m not gonna touch anything because of the mold
*proceeds to touch everything *
Lol and no mask !!
No gloves 🧤…😮😬🤷🏻♀️…ok 🤣😂
I love the Bible
Versus you put on your videos they are so inspirational please don’t ever stop putting them up thank you 😊
I never would take anything but if I saw a set of Britanica encyclopedias. . . They are priceless especially today. That’s hidden knowledge!!!!
I'd try to contact the estate listed on the property; only if they weren't moldy, wet, ruined.
I am fascinated by this comment. Encyclopaedia are a dime a dozen here! Charity won’t take them as they can’t sell them!
A real beauty. Wow! Stairs are ok. I prefer wood not carpet. All the rooms are pretty. So sad that it's all left to rot. I think that fridge had to food in it. Ugh! Getting grossed out just thinking about it. That furniture was so pretty. Real nice. Excellent explore.
Possibly wood beneath the carpet. Digging the avocado green and mustard yellow!
Beautiful old house, I hope someone restores it before it’s too late. I loved the style it was decorated in kind of reminded me of the bewitched house that mid Centruy feel. Very tastefully styled. What happened to his family? No children? No will… so strange
Incredible! No heirs, that's amazing.
Surprised the State hasn't take it. I have cousins there somewhere in Tennessee.
Thanks for sharing 👌
For the couple being well connected, I'm really surprised it's going to decay or not for sale. Someone's cutting the grass!
I've never liked that type of decor. 🤢
Thanks for the tour Big Bankz and happy 4th!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
PS: Close the lid next time 😆. 6:34
If I hear Jack Nicholson one more time, I'll scream...😁
@@robertaverill936 🤔
Something to put in the back of your mind, the sofa at the very beginning is called french pravential. I didn't spell it right, but that was the stile my parents house was.😁
I love your videos, keep making them. There are always going to be some that have negative comments but you have to ignore them. You do a great job.
I'll be there. Hope all is well and life is getting better for ya! Love ya kiddo!
Oh the luxurious 80's I enjoyed the 80's so much.
That home has probably hosted many wonderful holiday dinners and whatnot.
The abstract towards the end was amazing!
This place is amazing, great presentation. Thank you.
I would love to get my hands on the curio cabinet and the chest of drawers, this house definitely looks like a 60’s/70’s home! I grew up watching a zenith tv
Hello how are you doing?
@@franklinstephen3268 not you shooting your shot on RUclips 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This has me really wanting to do Estate planning, I can't understand if they were so prominent, that no one care to help, and what about a power of attorney, a will. So sad
My neighbour is friend & family, she owns multiple properties & is slightly eccentric, I don't think she thinks she'll live 4ever, but close to it! and I can't seem to get her to understand that at 53 (or ANY age if you own anything!) she MUST get a WILL DONE! She has F/T custody of her/our 11 yr old Grandson which makes it even more important! She sees a Lawyer regularly over other matters and STILL doesn't get the ALL IMPORTANT WILL done. I just don't understand it, I said to her to you Love the Gov't of Canada so much that you want to leave them in charge of things?! I myself have a will but it's aged and needs Updated for sure so I must take my own advice also & get that done ASAP. Please ppl, DO THIS for your own peace of mind and for those left behind. Someone may think, oh I'll do it tomorrow, but they may not own tomorrow. DEATH DOES NOT HAVE AN ASSIGNED AGE!
That is a very 70s house. I would say built in the late 60s. I grew up with that furniture and wall paper in my childhood home along with many of my friends houses decorated the same.
What's hilarious is my parents had VERY similar gold plated wallpaper in their first home and it definitely dated back to the 1960s so your date estimate sounds very close.
No matter who you are and what you have done, we all end up in the same place. And there, nothing material matters.
The young woman in the old black and white photo was very beautiful, model type, could see her on the cover of 60s and 70s magazines, wonder if that was Patti in her younger days ? The paintings were awesome! Patti was definitely a very talented artist.....
The shallow orange painted bowl in the center of the fireplace is Fitzhugh pattern Chinese export porcelain, worth around $100 to $200, depending on condition. All the cut-crystal stems on the wooden table are Waterford Lismore pattern, worth about $20 to $25 apiece. Knowledge is everything.
I learned one thing by watching these video's don't leave thing's behind for someone else to figure out . I turned 70 this month and my beloved husband passed away last year , so I went through all my picture's and sorted and gave them to my two son's , my youngest passed so I gave all the picture's to his son . I took slot of picture's over the year's and they are a look into the past. Loved the video and this house is full of family photo's , makes me wonder why ?
♥️
thank you Mr and Mrs Bankz I love your videos ❤. I really love your Alabama videos . 💋🙏
I love that place I like because it's got big rooms supposed to bedroom big thanks for sharing it!
Beautifull furniture 😳❤️
Thank u for the exploring video
IT was totally Worth it
I just love your videos. You just seem like a good genuine person.
Que linda ❣️ esta mansão Maravilhosa 💖 eu amei ❤️
I would have to agree it is probably from the late 60's to mid 70's, I remember my house having the same stuff in the 70's
There were no "Crest Whitestrips" in the 60s/70s though, invented in 1997 and made public in 2001.
I've seen so many places on You Tube abandoned with everything left behind.
That place had things taken, probably by family or friends..
We don't have the same inheritance taxes here like in Europe so
I wonder why it hasn't been fixed.
Material wealth is transient, you can't take it with you, so pass it on and simplify your life
as you reach later years.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
I'm in Australia, I'll be asleep so I thought I'd say hi now and catch the video tomorrow.. cheers !!
Okay! Thank you!
I loved this house SO much! The bedrooms were SO big and I am all about seeing 'the stuff' left behind. Thanks for looking through the closet and showing the paintings...those were AMAZING! I loved the vintage furniture in the bedroom with the little flowers.....the yellows and greens were prominent........definitely got a 70's feel. Wonder if they had children and if so....wonder why they didn't want the items left behind. Its interesting to think of the what ifs and wonder whys. Thanks SO much! LOVEEEEEE these and love the scripture always!
So sad to just stop and think of the life and memories that existed there, and is now like a time capsule just sitting there. Sad that no one took proper care to resolve things after their departure.
I hope you put the vhs tape back in its box so it’s protected, I feel bad for the people who have passed on and everybody goes through there private stuff 😔
I don't think they care
@@debjack5298 you got that right😔
I’m curious about what you do. Especially this house - why hasn’t it been sold? Why didn’t the house get cleaned out? Is it considered trespassing what you guys do? I’m also surprised everything hadn’t been stolen. I did notice the lawn had been mowed. Interesting stuff.
Someone in the family still owns its that's why lawn being mowed
I find this really rude going into someone home and there things 😒 and yh it's TRESPASSING
He mentioned that there is black mold everywhere.
In that state demolition is the only option. If there is no will it goes to the state, if there was a will, probate can take years. Sometimes the relatives just can't deal with returning to the house and often have their own lives in other states or countries.
@@tofurakhanom2644 💯💯💯 If they don't have permission of the owners, it is trespassing. But I still love BB'z videos. 🤔
WOW, I bet that was an amazing house at its time, so sad nobody came back for nothing,, Thanks for showing
MAKES ME WANT TO GET RID OF THINGS....I LOVE SEEING THIS. I COULD SPEND HOURS JUST LOOKING AT THE STUFF
So many homeless in America this could of been turned into rooms for them what a shame and a waste 😪 great vidio
🙂
Great…more crack houses.
Thanks for sharing this video and thumb up 👍 Greetings from Germany
The best I have seen, great job. FYI...if a place is abandon, then it is not thief's, if been over 30 days abandon, then it is free for whoever wants to take it. I would say that many things have been taken from there. But see many that still good, sad to let it set and rot. I would have to go in and clean the place up, sure the ones living there did not leave it in such a mess.
The bedroom furniture is French Provencal. Love it
That was a beautiful house !
You mentioned designer in the woman's closet. There was a Salvatore Ferragamo box on the shelf, which is higher end designer shoe label. More popular pre 2000s, but still big brand.
Loved 😍 it...tyvm
Somebodys keeping up the lawn the yard looks great!
Hi, I must admit I am not a fan of too much yellow, I think they went way overboard lol.
Some cool paintings though and I love the lounge. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤
I know you say you don't know clothing labels other than designer brands, but there are a lot of designers that you would know that hit their stride in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Names like Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Halston, Gucci (as was mentioned), Dior, etc. It'd be interesting to see, especially in these well-to-do houses where such lavish entertaining took place, what forgotten treasures they potentially had left behind. Although I also do understand that rifling through closets would be time consuming.
Such a cringy thing to say...." I only know designers"
And he didn’t open the shoeboxes in the downstairs closet!!!!!
Such a cool dresser
It blows my mind how things are just left to decay. And the home. Who's paying property taxes?
I can't wait it's going to be good like the other ones
3:25 those are silk and satin upholstered furniture items. My parents had the same when I was a kid, they were not for daily use.
This house does not appear to be as old as you implied. Houses built in the early 1900’s typically have wood flooring, not carpeting. It also would have much more elaborate and wider molding . It looks to be more upscale construction from the 1950’s that was perhaps renovated in the 70’s.
There is not enough furniture in the rooms, given their alleged wealth and the room size. And no cars in the garage. I wonder if antiques were looted or the family did come and do a clear out. The home might have been staged for sale in a minor way, and didn’t sell. We will never know.
Hi BB. I didn’t get my notification, so I’m late
Bro was staring directly at a ferregamo box talkin bout “thought they had designer” 😂😂
Big Bankz, I don’t want to sound mean here. I have recommended to you several times to better educate yourself on antiques and architecture. Please do that, as you misrepresent what you are exploring. There is no way that house was built in the 1800’s. More like the 1970’s. It’s not laid out like a house from the 1800’s, and only a total gut could make it’s architecture look so modern. That Gucci bag was a paper shopping bag. Waterford is crystal, not a watch. A big house, but most certainly not a mansion. People who love to see abandoned places aren’t impressed so much by wealth or celebrity, but by the story of a life, no matter how modest.
I agree, Bonnie. It is quite obvious that young people aren't aware of many of the things with which we grew up in the 60's and 70's. There needs to be more research before entering houses such as this. Many times I have to stop watching because the person making the video doesn't know what they're talking about.
Thank you for saying everything I wanted to say...
Agree 100%. More research needs to be done before making these types of vids that many are interested in. Know the subject matter as much as possible and don't pretend to know what you do not.
I am from the south. This is what is referred to as an antebellum mansion. Look at Graceland. Same thing. Black mold took this home.
@@presleyfamily Graceland is actually a colonial revival/neoclassical architecture built in the 1930s. Antebellum is Latin and translates to “pre war”. Homes have to be built before the civil war to be considered antebellum.
Thanks for video so sad to see this mansion sitting ready for mother nature to claim her. So many memories in there.
Can't wait
I loved the little sheep by the stairs
There needs to be a auction by the county to sale the home , when abandoned , write to the city council ?
How is the grass so nicely mowed being abandoned
I like the furniture. It would be great if the furniture and clothes can be donated to tv and movie sets and to people in need. Great video
Love watching
Nice Editing 👍
Sometimes I think a poltergeist is in these houses with how all the cabinets and drawers are always open. I mean even when I’m moving out or people going throw stuff they still shut the cabinets and drawers out of habit, lol.
I have coworkers who won’t push their chair back under the lunch table….it wouldn’t surprise me if the rude looters who threw things around also didn’t close things 😊 but I agree on ghosts; I look for orbs
The mold might be one reason among others on why it was abandoned. That stuff is dangerous.
Dangerous?? Why
Beautiful home such a shame left to decay
Beautiful art work as you said a talented woman
Take care and be safe inthese homes
See you in next video
Oh a real... carrier bag. Amazeballs
Yeah you don’t have name everything like “ there’s a toilet “ there’s a drawer “ an exercise bike … I think we can figure that out thank you
Love your videos you have class as you go thru it,documenting history but be careful squatters in there.
Doubt it.was the family, more like looters looking for valuables trashing the place........
Nice big house with lots of cool things
With all the glassware & a bar, owner definitely entertained.
Hello buddy I watched some of your videos. And I don't understand how you are able to get inside these houses you are exploring? Love your videos.
Who ever left that mess has done a disservice to that beautiful home and the deceased. 🥺 it was a lived and loved home
I agree
Um, how do you know if the former owners were the last of their family lineage? If they were, then that's life. You live, you die, your house still stands. If there were no living relatives or no will, this can happen. It happens all the time. Maybe the little girl in the pictures was their only descendant and died at a young age.
So many houses that are left empty or abandoned with items left behind for whatever reason are trashed by people who go in. It's a statement on our society now, no respect for property or the history of the home.and family that lived there. That behavior, along with so many people who destroy places, disgust me.
awesome!!
The outside is similar to Graceland. Antebellum mansion.
Lmao @the Jack Nickleson 😂😂
THAT SMALL BLACK N WHITE PIC ON THE FIREPLACE LOOKS LIKE THE PAINTING FROM THE CLOSET OF THE GIRL
That's no 1800s house. That's a 50s or 60s red brick neo colonial. Countless thousands of those were built in every state back then.
That built in refrigerator looks to be early to mid 1980's. I would say the ferragamo shoe boxes looked to be 80's maybe 90's
I would say that house has may have been vacant for 15-20 years but probably not much longer than that
It looks like my mother's house in Virginia. She's long gone but watching this reminded me of her.
Keep bringing those videos..
What area in the South were you in Big Banks?
That yellow bedroom has the same dresser and mirror that I had as a kid in the 70's
That's sad all that left behind.Wow it's big.
Did they not have children to clean out the house? So sad that everything was just abandoned. Wouldn't there be property taxes owed to the city? Would be interesting to find out?
Cat pee from ferral cats? That fridge is from the 80s. Lol Zenith was a huge brand of TV. That's "haves gold" in that bathroom, and "venetian pink" in the other.
Thanks for the tour.
flip mattresses and check suit jacket pockets that's where the valuables are
The house could not have been vacant for an extreme length of time because in the bathroom draw there was white-strips for teeth and those have not been around that long....
Amazing video but it's amaze me how you work all your life to build a empire and it's goes to waste but when pass away you can't leave with it
BB, Thanks for the explore. It was very interesting to me. I keep trying to put together clues to figure out who this was. LOL It's like a puzzle. Please don't worry about what you don't know. I think it is good to get to know what different architectural styles are but it is an unreasonable expectation for someone your age to know what things are that you have never seen. It's not like you are trying to teach a class! Thank you for bringing parts of your world into ours. Take Care & Stay Safe! "Hi" to Lakota! 😊
