Thanks for sharing. I've never tried that before, I will now. Especially since you have said "The strawberry freezer jam, tastes more like fresh strawberries than the cooked jam" This will take my non cooked strawberries desserts to another level. And while saving me some time in preparation.
Hi. It really does taste like fresh strawberries that have been sweetened. Cooked strawberry jam has a buttery note but this is all strawberry. I just put some on a bagel this morning. It’s great!
This is very handy when you find a great deal on fruit or somebody gives you extra. ✌️. Put the strawberry tops into the garden. Free strawberry plants. ✌️
Hey Jamie! Good to see you again, hope ya'll are healthy & happy! Strawberry freezer jam is my absolute favorite, my family has been making it this way for most of my life and I'm an ol' fart. The taste is so much better than cooked strawberry jam... it's as close to a fresh berry as you'll get out of a bottle. Have you had any success yet with a lime marm recipe? Cheers from Nova Scotia! Al
Hi. This is funny. I was just talking to someone last week about the Lime Marmalade but could not find you in the comments. I have the “jelly” part down but have to work on the lime peel. The peel made it too tart. We got to talking about the lime marmalade because someone was asking about a lemon jelly recipe. I’m going to revisit the lime marmalade. I’m glad you commented!!! I will get back to you about the marmalade.
@@useful.knowledge Hey, that's awesome, thanks! Mine turned out okay, a little loose but I'm fine with that. The zest in mine was a bit tart and unpleasant too, but I think I know what I'll do next time... cook the zest a bit by itself beforehand... that should both soften it and take the edge off a little. Good luck with yours, I'll be looking forward to it! Cheers, Al
Thanks for sharing. I really like this and hope to make this soon! How long will it last? Do you store it in the fridge? So many questions sorry. Take care!
I will back Jamie up on this one. I have had bottles in the freezer going on two years and they still have lots of flavor. The only difference is the older they are the more set-up they become, but a good strong stirring will fix that.
I'm curious if the 6 jars set. I never remember making 6 jars and now I can't ever get mine to set. I used to get 5 jars. I always have 6 jars. I use surjell. I've made this stuff for 30 years. I've made 6 batches this week and only one set. Thank you!
Hi. Freezer jam doesn’t really set like regular jam and jelly. It’s not thin but definitely not really set. OR check to make certain your sure gel is not out of date. I just made three batches of clover jelly and all set well so I haven’t had any weird issues with sure gel so far this season.
@@useful.knowledge I finally figured out what my issue is...... I was not letting the sugar sit long enough. For some reason the 10 minutes isn't enough. I let my batches yesterday sit for over 30 minutes. They set just fine. This is such a family tradition I'm tickled to be back on track.😀 Making 10 batches the last few days has been plenty of troubleshooting.😂
Jaime, how long do you leave the jars in the over? Thank you for sharing your recipes. These are such easy recipes. I'm sure the taste delicious, too. I'm going to be busy making them. I'm glad I found your videos. Thank you again. Stay safe. Maggie
Hi. Freezer jam usually has a softer set. However, I’ve had several folks comment that they’ve had issues with the sure jell recipe. I’m wondering if sometimes the strawberries have too much water with creates issues with the set.
Ok. Sounds like you did the cooked jam. If it didn’t setup, it probably just needs to cook longer. You can put it back in the pot and slowly bring it back up to simmer. Simmer for 10-20 minutes and see if it starts to jell on the small plate.
Useful knowledge, your freezer strawberry jem looks great.
Thanks!! It’s amazing on homemade bread!
Thank you
I can’t wait to make this it looks soo good
Thanks, Jamie. Great recipe and tip. Good to see you again. God Bless, stay safe.
Thanks and God Bless you also!
Great video! Very clear instructions. Thanks!
Thanks!!
Awesome!!! Great video 👍thanks a bunch. Keep safe and well 🙏❤🙏
Thanks!!
thank you!!!
Going to try this week!!!!

True!! Great idea on the tops!

Hey that’s exactly what I think might work. I hope it doesn’t make the zest look weird but I’m going to give it a shot.
Thanks for sharing. I really like this and hope to make this soon! How long will it last? Do you store it in the fridge? So many questions sorry. Take care!
Hi. It last up to a year in the freezer and several weeks in the fridge. I had one jar left over from last summer and it was still good. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this video. I made your other recipe for canning and it was terrific.

Thanks!! The jars need to be in the oven for 15 minutes. Have fun making jams and jellies!
@@useful.knowledge Yes, I will definitely have. I'll post and let you know of my success with all your recipes. Thank you, again. Be safe.💖Maggie
Jaime can you use less sugar?
Hi. I’d say yes. It may not gel as good. However, the Sure Jell recipe does use a lot of sugar.
Where did you get kids from? I'm in Fla.
Kid’s?
Lids
@@khouseworth3657 I get them at WALMART, but they go fast so buy them when you see them!
THAT'S the secret!?? A little strawberries with the sugar!?? LOL
😂🤣. It is definitely a lot of sugar. That’s sure jell’s recipe. 👀
@@useful.knowledge Every video I've watched has the same ratio. I just never realized how much sugar it takes.
I make this right to the tee and it never sets up.

It never sat up! I did everything u said too. What a waste
Hi. Did you use sure jell?
@@useful.knowledge no did the other one. Strawberry and the sugar one

Hey you can wash out the jars but you need to use new lids for a good seal.
