You got it so right. Even I was unconsciously thinking why I am liking it so much but then I read your comment and it sort of made sense to me. It reeks nostalgia.
3rd semester engineering student here. In this day and age, everyone types notes or records them, but only a few hand write them and do all the work. It helps a ton! Makes it easier to remember. Writing it down is a huge help, and especially keeping it all organized! I live by my phone's calendar I make and add to everyday to keep going on the right track. Thanks for the incredible encouragement, awesome video!
I have ADHD and after a couple of seizures I ended up with what modern medicine calls "shit-for-brains". It got to the point where I had to stop teaching and I felt completely lost. I tried every note taking app out there to organise my thoughts and I still ended up returning to a physical notebook. When I was younger, I was of the mind that a notebook or sketchbook should look good and would always dread making a mess of that first page. Now, I treat it as it is meant to be - a tool. Without it, I'd be lost. When it comes to memory retention, I firmly believe that the physical act of writing something down better ingrains it in our memory for retrieval later. Dumping everything onto a screen, it is too passive of an act and the information becomes effervescent. Slowly converting my best friend to being a physical note taker also. Building a workshop at the mo, and you've inspired me to look at chalkboards. Great vid mate.
The shaky cam corder footage illicits such a deeply seated nostalgia in me that I forget is there. It feels like summer break in secondary school, like waking up and not knowing what the day has in store. Your work is inspiring. Thank you for sharing.
You style of videos are quite interesting. You videos have something innovative and something philosophical while also being quite relatable while also carrying a sense of nostalgia.... Keep up the work... Will be supporting
You presented a little advice, a little story and a little intrigue, beautifully combined! No part was too long or overwhelming. I love your creation here. First video of yours that I’ve come across and I’m not hesitating - it’s a sub! ❤
this is a wonderful video! loving your channel aesthetic in general! i was just listening to the mercury song you put in the video on spotify's discover weekly like an hour ago
Excellent video! I think writing down your thoughts forces you to make it more clear and think about whatever is taking up space in your head more thoroughly. When I write in my journal consistently, my head is clear and it’s really freeing. It feels like I’m in control and I know what I need to do.
the sound design (not sure sure that's the right word but oh well) and editing is amazing! it must be so hard to make everything line up right haha. definitely helped to keep me hooked. good work!
I have never been interested in carpenting or anything similar but something about the rapid but layed back and the music. I just love the storytelling.
I usually don't watch content like yours, but there is something really cool about the videos you make. It must be the mix between the passion, the stories and the great production of the video itself. 👏
I absolutely love the way you tell stories through these videos. It's so fresh esp. with the way RUclips is these days. I really appreciate the way you share your projects creatively in your perspective since I love hearing the whys of someone's passionate with. It's rather quaint and I'd love to see more from your channel, thank you so much for these :3
well, there's a reason i'm somewhat surrounded by whiteboards at my private desk. and at my last job i had a pile of paper full of notes on my desk, too.
"I know its easy to get stuck thinking about doing things, instead of taking action, but for my the first step, has always been writing it down." I love this video..
Honestly a great quote. My partner prefers to remember it and she does have a better memory than I, but she also is fallible like any other to forgetting things. And I can’t help but be a little smug I remembered by writing it down (of course not using my brain to remember, since my memory is a goldfish). Love the old filter aesthetic inclusion too!
This is a confirmation, I love writing and do have a journal addictions but I tried to type notes, plans, glasses and I feel like I am always worry about aesthetic when typing on notion and writing my brains can just get all the info it needs out at one and feels better.. Writing is the super power
Thank you Marta, you inspire me! I have great ideas at the strangest moments but my head is full haha. I decide to put all my ideas in a powerpoint presentation and when the time is right I choose the one I like the most. Because I put it in powerpoint I don't have to be afraid of forgetting the idea.
man! I loved how this is both a short film and advice, I love photography and cinema and this inspired me a lot, besides giving a click in my brain, making me realise that I do want to remember things, my own memories, tysm!!
i love writing things down even if it's for no reason. around the school season, it used to get hard to do so much writing, but now it's all about typing! i still try to make time or space to write things down
I just stumbled across your videos and i honestly love your story telling. It's not just another maker's video about how to sand down an old blackboard or about notebooks, but just telling your story with great music and beautiful pictures. Keep it up, you are awesome!!
this is the best video i`ve seen recently, honestly that 4 minutes just flew because i was really feeling in my hearth the story you were telling i love that little details like the imposible shot from inside that doors, wich i know from my own experience is really complicated to make, but that was only one of all the beautifull shots you made, the monumental effort you put on this videos can be clearly seen by us, your channel really deserves to go up and up every single day And above all, thanks for the message inside the video, the most important thing is what you left in the mind and hearth of your viewers, and this video let me a good feeling. You are just amazing, keep the great job!
love chalkboard paint! :) Keep up the great videos, the coloring and vibe you've built its captivating and you share so much in such a short video. great story telling.
(First time on this channel) I just watched a bunch of videos about inbox zero, so I thought this was going to be a productivity video, so at the end when it said it was a story- that makes a lore of sense- also, great story! Thanks!
Idk what the right balance for me is with the weighing between "get it fixed" or "just buy a new one" and will probably explore that more in adulthood but i was pleasantly surprised by the fact you chose to refurbish and renew the chalk board :o I think that is an amazing choice.
Thank GOD 😊I have never stopped journaling or hand writing notes or just reading books 📚 ❤I have been writing ✍️ journals since age 5 and now I AM 56 and still keep a notebook and handwritten day planner 💚🌸👏and write ✍️ in my little address book and fill in my paper 📝 calendar 📆 yay 😀 post-its are all over my walls with positive affirmations 💜oh and I still keep a hard copy Bible with lots of notes and highlights 🧡
Yeah I second my comment on the other video and everyone else in this comment section. The storytelling is perfect. The 360 from start to finish of the video was insane. I’m so glad I subscribed. Hope to see more coming in the future.
Thoughts have weight. Energy and mass are interchangeable (E=mc2). Since thoughts are energy signals, the energy transmitting a thought has mass. Thoughts are physical representations of matter and are encoded in matter. To think, analyze, and form new thoughts, requires energy. Writing is therefore stored energy that can be used later. Energy in the body and the mind needs to renew daily. It’s finite. Writing daily, stores that energy. Writing helps create infinite energy.
That was inspirational. I agree with everyone else that you're a nice storyteller, well chosen words with visuals that fit with your intent. Plus, well done for transforming that old blackboard. I was thinking you were going to make it into a poster, but going the extra mile rather than buying a new one... showed care and attention for the old ways of doing things. Not common for people your age in our "replace with the new updated model" culture. Plus that soundtrack with its driving beat was a great choice. Are you currently based in Spain?
I highly recommend this book, THE LIGHT OF IMAN is on sale right now on amazon, applebooks and other more books distributor in australia, america and more country.
this is awesome! found your channel a few days ago and i really enjoy your style of video. i've got much to learn and i think you've given me a few ideas of how to start. Love the videos, love the content, Keep going!
"Your minds job is to think, not remember things."
First time hearing that.
same.
same. and ive always been trying to store information in my mind for longer than i can remember
makes you think about how we read things and how little we remember if we dont write some stuff down to go along with it
Remember everything*
i like it
It’s giving the intro of a 2000’s high school drama show
You got it so right. Even I was unconsciously thinking why I am liking it so much but then I read your comment and it sort of made sense to me. It reeks nostalgia.
The nostalgia made me feel all warm and fuzzy.😂😊

thank you!! good luck with the semester!
When I did engineering in college I wrote down absolutely everything ! And still try to do that as much as I can because it’s the best way for me

Great vid mate.
Physical notetaking is truly the GOAT. Good luck with the workshop!
This is so relatable OMG ...
"Your minds job is to think, not remember things" is a saying similar to - The mind is for having ideas, not holding them. - David Allen
Woah, I was expecting journaling stuff, but the memories and how you describe it makes it a wonderful story telling

Also you made me strongly consider buying a blackboard
Just stumbling around and found this. Great job!
Woah :0 you bring that chalk board to a whole fully equipped garage. And love the 4:3 aspect ratio video, aesthetically pleasing
I see engineering/diy projects, I subscribe.

Beautiful video, ending was impactful!
This was such a good video! I loved the editing
Yeah, I kinda figured it out myself, the hard way.. I've always been the "I don't need to write it down" kind of people...but I should write it down
This video was such a visual treat!!
El Retiro, que buenos recuerdos allí también
Love the edition ❤
Instantly subscribing, this is CINEMA!!!
Writing things down is easy, but not organizing or categorizing them. That's hard. I usually end up with a lot of different info cluttered into one.
Someone’s been studying their Life of Risa ;-) Nice take and good storytelling. Thanks for the video.
u told the story great! I felt smt when u talked about the last few days of summer and the camecorder shots, u made a very cool vid! :D

Not very often a video like this makes me cry. I need to get back into RUclips.
I took your advice. My life is exactly the same except there's paper everywhere and my wrist hurts more than normal.
