@@scottmatznick3140 Disagree. Keith is not LV so doesn't have to look after his voice as much as Mick does.
Keith has improved, but he's singing in a lower key, much lower than Happy (mercifully).

Martin Chytil - Or writing songs this good. Practically none of those cats from the 1960s can today with maybe the exception of Bob Dylan. Paul McCartney gets me sick to my stomach the completely over the top praise he gets today. All these people who scream and cry over him, do they realize the dude hasn't written one single solitary good song in over 45 years? If they think he has, then please show it to me, I'm dying to know.

    • @JeddorianJalapeno
      @JeddorianJalapeno 9 лет назад +2

Georgie Thumbs If the eclectic collection of good songs to be found sifting through everything over 45 years does not satisfy you then you are obviously tone deaf or perhaps stuck on only one style or idea of what you think he should be ?

    • @georgiethumbs2438
      @georgiethumbs2438 9 лет назад +3

Brian Burnett - What are you talking about? I was saying Keith Richards is one of the rare musicians from the 1960s who is still writing good songs today. You don't get that from Paul McCartney who hasn't written one good song in 45 years. I mean really, when is the last good sog from him? Live and let die from 1970? Yet he constantly gets praised, gets all these awards and I'm saying to myself, for what? In any other industry he would have been out of business long ago. Make good product for 7 years, put out crap for 45. Oh yeah, but lets all kiss his ass.

For me, the term 'punk' isn't necessarily about the music, but about the attitude. Our Keef was always punk. A renegade, a rock 'n roll pirate, a vagabond, a minstrel, a troubadour, a free spirit, but most of all, The King of Riffs and a true musician. Keith was trouble, but in the nicest and most elegant of ways. As the t shirt says 'who the fuck is Mick Jagger?' lol

Many don't understand and many are so called Stones fans . Richards is so diverse inside and outside the Stones. He even supposed the Jim Carol band . Definitely a Punker . Undercover LP was not that popular ,but the Grunge bands got it. " Pretty beat up" is a fantastic reckless tune and I wish the Stones would get back to that and flip the bird to all that didn't get it. I'm 65 and at the top of the baby boom . I was at a critical place . I could either stay back with the classics or move forward to Punk . Keith made my decision very easy . 😎

Yes, these riffs and fills are familiar but they are the ones that Keith begged borrowed and stole from the greats AND he has kept this music alive and it still sounds fresh. This is the stuff that you CRANK UP TO 11 when you're driving across three states in the middle of the night. You can't fall asleep and you can't stop moving. You just keep burning up that asphalt to those riffs and hooks. Keith also has a very soulful side and has written some fantastic tear jerkers. I know that Mick is the flash of the Stones and there would not have been the success of the band without him but Keith is the real substance; the guy who reaches WAY down for expression. I for one hope that Keith really IS immortal!!!

    Lyrics:
    Just because you find yourself
    Off the streets again
That don't mean that I can help you
    or I ain't your friend
Baby trouble is your middle name
Your trouble is that that's your game
Now you are out of circulation out of reach and out of touch
Let me keep you in the loop
Though I can't tell you much
Baby trouble is your middle name
The trouble is that that's your game
Just because I can't see you see you anymore
    That's because honey you're doing 2-4
Baby trouble is your middle name
The trouble is that that's your game
    Just because you find yourself
    Back to jail again
That don't mean that we can connect you know
    or I'm still your friend
Baby trouble is your middle name
The trouble is that that's your game
Even though you are still inside
I could get you off the hood
But I know if I get you out
    I won't get a second look
Baby trouble is your middle name
The trouble is that that's your game
    Trouble
    Too much trouble

I think some of those lyrics are wrong. I know you just copied and pasted the lyrics from Google but there's parts like "That don't mean that we can connect you know or I'm still your friend" He actually says "That don't mean we can't connect. I'm still your friend." It makes more sense he would say it that way and it sounds more like that's what he says. He also says "Cant" at the first verse instead of "Can".

Keef riffs hard! I like the sound of the drums on this song- very lackluster production on purpose- raw, pure Keith sounds. I saw Keith with the Winos at Massey Hall in Toronto when Main Offender came out. I was up at the front and got to reach out and be given Keith's guitar pick while he continued playing Happy. Then, he did the same with some other lucky bloke. Truly my brush with rock greatness. Keith was wearing the skull ring of his and just watching him play live that close was amazing.

Considering how much music Keith had fired off from his axe at this point, it’s amazing he could still fire heat like this in 2015. He’s the greatest writer of rock and roll music.

Amazon censored my review but this and the reggae song are the only two songs on Crosseyed Heart. The rest are muddled rockers or one tired ballad after another. Worshipped for Keith's legend alone.

No one will ever know, but even if Keith Richards was a solo act his entire career, he would still have a huge following.
