Bob's still taking his vitamins! 40 years later he was telling Conan about Johnny tripping him up with unexpected questions not on the cards and here it is!
Very funny man and sadly missed. I have recordings of many of his sketches. One of the funniest is the security guards first day on duty at Empire State Building. He phones up his boss to report a huge ape climbing up the outside of the building. True humour!
@Diane Newman The Hungarian learned to sing the song by listening to "Voice of America" on the radio. When he heard the radio static, he thought that was part of the song! Very clever and funny. Bob Newhart was "singing" the static.
Actually the radio was playing a record. The record had the hissing sound and it was broadcast. The listener assumed that hissing sound was part of the recording.
Newhart is such a treasure. I hope he is feeling well these days.
One of the best in the business - my favorite comedian bar none 👍
Newhart is still around...thank God!!
Incredible banter. Timeless.
Rest in peace Bob.
8:41 I remember the first time I heard the opera singer routine, it was hystericla then and it is still hysterical today.
Two comedy legends, together again.
It’s cool they respected each other
Really funny, intelligent stuff. Thank you.

A very funny person who made millions laugh. RIP Sir.....
I have always had a crush on Bob Newhart
He would probably say,
"W-well, I think that you, that, you should probably see a psychiatrist for that. "
- and he'd get a laugh.

There will always be comedians....That no longer applies in 2018. Someone might feel bad...mainly those who do stupid things.
He could be a double for my dad, so I always loved him.
Newhart is now 89 !! He took care of his health !!
Those vitamins.
I sure hope it's not from eating babies ?!!
I love watching two comics analyse comedy routines.
I just like technical stuff.
deposit slips? another age. Love Newhart.

carson sat before the guest?
Could someone explain the joke at the end?
Perfect, thanks. Had a feeling the joke involved static.

he was singing the static which he thought was part of the song - it was really just the radio, of course
