hi Geoff, I think Alex said the indicator is available on most of the big platforms now, but if not the formula is easy, just divide the MACD by ATR of the long MA period.
Thanks guys! I didn't know about the MacdV but have programmed it into my own system. It certainly is a big improvement over the traditional one. Thanks for sharing!
This was a very basic , at a high level description of the indicator. There are a lot of techniques, setups that were created by the normalisation. I am glad you liked it.
@@AlexSpiroglou Yeah, like it a lot! I'm already experimenting with it and am using it for both entry and exit signals (in test strategies for now). I would like to learn more though. Do you have more resources on the MacdV usage?
I have the highest respect for Chande. But that oscillator is a range-bound/normalised indicator, that suffers the same challenges as the rest in that category. all the best
Great show as always. I've learnt so much from BST and the great guests you have on the show. I'm looking to develop a 5m scalping strategy and was wondering if anybody has tested fixed ATR vs rolling ATR? The trade has been open for 100 candles. fixed_atr_based_stoploss has the same SL 1200 but rolling_atr_based_stoploss now has SL 1000. Both examples opened the same trade, but rolling_based_atr_stoploss = -(atr_value * 2 / trade.open_rate) so updates the stop loss on every candle whereas fixed_atr_based_stoploss just calculated the ATR on the entry candle only and persisted with those. I feel like this is probably a Linda Raschke style question but hope some other traders here can help.
Thank you the invitation and our chat.
It was very enjoyable
It was our pleasure Alex, thank you!
Thank you. How do we get ahold of this indicator? Is it part of a certain platform? Or can I program a standard macd to include this.

I am listening to this right now....
This is fantastic stuff
thanks Peter, glad you're enjoying it!
Thanks! I like your approach to deal with the data.
Thank you.
Glad it was helpful and thanks for the support!
Hi, I'm a fan ofvthe Chande momentum oscillator myself. Thanks for the upload 🥰

Wow, so complicated to explain an indicator as Macd.is he sharing any statistical back test on any assets or refs os single stocks?
we've shared the concept, it's up to you to verify it for yourself
Amazing
Thank you for your kind words
Thank you!
