Absolutely the technologies do not afraid us :-) Well, in Belgium the Amiga was very popular, like the Atari ST in Germany, like the CPC in France. I had the chance to work in a computer shop in late 80, early 90, the customers for Atari ST and Amiga were totally different. But the sales were much higher in Amiga than Atari ST (at least in our shop). To me both are complementary, I like both but for different purposes. (This is another story :-))

Relating to retro stuff is kind of like reliving the good times, someone (like me) can't leave them behind:) With kids we reminisce about those good times, and not just the retrogames. Everything, school and hanging out with friends. I don't have kids, just an Amiga, but I can imagine. In my country (Czech rep.) Amiga was quite popular, more than others, games were not available, only cracked copies, so I have almost no collection. Soon the Amiga was replaced by the PC. In other countries there were Amiga VS Atari fights. In my country it was Amiga VS PC. Then came Doom, and that was the doom:) - beginning of the end.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 I've played Pinball Illusions, Soccer Kid and Bump and Burn and they all worked fine, no issues. I think Pinball Illusions might have a slightly less frame rate than the A1200 version (hardly noticeable) but that is probably because the CD32 might take more CPU power to emulate? Just guessing
@@Alex_Power That's interesting, Bump and Burn didn't work for me. So I gave it away. You added it and it works? Only the menu works for me, the gameplay doesn't. Someone gave me some advice to make it work better: cd_speed=100 to cd_speed=0 (it doesn't work for some games) and cpu_type=68030 cpu_model=68030.
To be fair, it's not my method, Team Pandory stands behind it. But I've used it to the maximum and extended it with HDF and ADF. With CD32 and ADF, saving and loading states works, but with HDF I can only save. If you can figure out how to do that, please let me know.
One last question. I am trying to ad games and got the file in and renamed the 2 template files. Tho the games dont start, they load to a black screen. I followed the steps but am lost on the last step of the video where you say rename the file in the folder" which folder are you accessing to get to that white box with black lettering to rename the file. That's the part I havent figured out and may be why the game iso won't work.
Hellow:) If you renamed the files "_template.LHA", "_template_ol.uae" to the name of your game ("NewGame.LHA", "NewGame_ol.uae"), all that's left is to edit this "NewGame_ol.uae" file in some basic text editor like Notepad. Scroll down to about the middle of this text document, where you'll find a line: "cdimage0=/mnt/CD32/template.cue,image". Rename "template" to the name of your new game. ("cdimage0=/mnt/CD32/NewGame.cue,image". After saving, check that the extension is .uae and not txt, etc. PS: Remember that you can't use the native blue menu to configure games, otherwise the *.uae file will change and the game won't work. @@VonGroot Make sure you put the CD32 and THEA500 folder in the root of the flash drive. I assure you the kickstart files are among the other files, it's a mess, but they are there.
Exactly. If you enter the settings in the A500 mini menu, the configuration file will be overwritten and all the CD file path information disappears and the boot floppy appears the next time you boot. But I have everything set up fairly well and there is no need to change the settings. In the tutorial I show that the settings have to be changed in a text editor, but if you have a keyboard connected, you can enter the Amiberry menu with the F12 key and customize everything. By the way, the same way you launch CD32 games, you can also launch ADF and HDF games. Cheers, I´m your fan btw:)

This really is as simple as downloading the file, unzipping, then dragging it to a usb, no random whdload stuff or kickstart files or any of that? Leave "THEA500" file off the usb then, just drag the CD32 folder only? As for adding in more games, i have maybe 50 or so CD32 ISO files would that work or do i need to convert them to something else

How did you get Microcosm to work if it's not in the xml file? Also, why does your version have isos, LHA, and mp3 files? There's around 100 CD32 games on another site, playable on the mini, that are only LHAs? I'm confused. Is there any way I can take an LHA of Microcosm and make it work on the mini? I don't want the iso and mp3's. Thanks!
Hey. Hey. I don't know why Microcosm should be in an XML file. LHA files are important to fool Mini. As you know, Mini supports LHA files, but not cd iso. It's not my invention. Of course there are CD rips in LHA form, functional as WHDload, but those are without tracks. There are such on Paul Vince's AGS2 mini, but they don't contain music. MP3s were originally WAV, but a whole pack of 100 games would take up around 30 GB, 4 GB is better and you can still fit a lot of other stuff on a USB stick:) So every file that is there is important and serves a function. By the way, you can save stats with these CD games.I don't know what your problem is.

@@retrobrahhh I've tried chd files and they cause latency in the music due to compression. Simply don't set anything and the game won't crash. That's why I've configured every game. If you do want to change something, you have to use the F12 key. Or edit UAE file in some text editor. it's not official, so it's not that wonderful. Take it for what it is, it doesn't get any better. Be glad I did it. I learned my lesson, I won't do it again.
@@retrobrahhh WHDload cd rips don't have music because they were just copied data and the CD tracks are on CD and if you don't have the CD you don't have the music. Today PCs and other computers can use WAV/MP3 instead, but remember that these rips were made originaly for the Amiga and it didn't allow you to play it. Try more games. Make sure you have the CD32 folder in the root of your flash drive. If you didn't copy the whole folder, just selected the games, make sure you copied both kickstarts (Kickstart-CD32.rom, CD32 Extended-ROM.rom) The whole package doesn't work unless you have THEA500 folder for running WHDload games from retrogames.biz.
And what about those cd32 collections out there, do they work?. Those collections that have a menu and you can choose the game you want to play. Usually they have 40 to 50 games.

@@MrLeafsta I checked it out, looks like all the others. Did you enter the game settings in the a500 mini menu via the menu button (blue screen) ? If you just enter, the configuration is overwritten and only the floppy disk appears at startup. But you're talking about the workbench, that's weird.

When I saw your compilation, I was very happy. Then I searched T-Zer0 without success. Did you encountered difficulties with it? I tried to add it but it seems my iso isn't bootable. 🙁
Hi. I am sorry you are not happy enough. T-Zero is CD game, but not CD32. Is way how to run it. You have to do it through HDF. Make a stripped down version of Workbench, copy the contents to that HDF virtual disk and make it bootable. With a command, or through WBstartup.

@@craigprocter1232 Would people rather download 30 GB or 3 GB? You can use the flash drive space in other ways. Team Pandora has made a wonderful Workbench full of games, programs and demos and requires a 64GB flashdrive. By the way, I've put a link to the original iso with the wav if you'd like.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 it's a 1 mnute vs 7 minutes download.. again.. this is 2022. But you do you.. just saying storage quantity and download speeds are pretty much not an issue for most people nowadays. Especially if they have bought an A500 mini.
It's a pity, it's a beautiful piece of hardware. You can use those games for another emulator, but it contains CD tracks in mp3 and those only work in WinUAE or Amiberry, not P-UAE or FS-UAE.
This is the deal breaker I was looking for when it comes down to forking over my cash for the Amiga Mini.

Someone gave me some advice to make it work better:

@@retrobrahhh WHDload cd rips don't have music because they were just copied data and the CD tracks are on CD and if you don't have the CD you don't have the music.
Today PCs and other computers can use WAV/MP3 instead, but remember that these rips were made originaly for the Amiga and it didn't allow you to play it.

Would these files work on an emulator like WinUAE?
Yes, these are normal CD rips, but with mp3s. It should work in WinUAE too. There are two links, the bottom one is for original rips with wavs.

@@tomaskonvicka4135 I’ve been playing some of these on FS-UAE. They work great but I don’t think the MP3 audio tracks are playing. Is there anyway to get these working? I know your video was more for the A500 but still saving up for one lol

I can't get this to work, I just get a black screen when I try and start a game. Any ideas?
Try more games.
Make sure you have the CD32 folder in the root of your flash drive.
If you didn't copy the whole folder, just selected the games, make sure you copied both kickstarts (Kickstart-CD32.rom, CD32 Extended-ROM.rom)
The whole package doesn't work unless you have THEA500 folder for running WHDload games from retrogames.biz.
And what about those cd32 collections out there, do they work?. Those collections that have a menu and you can choose the game you want to play. Usually they have 40 to 50 games.

Tried the alternate links & now have viruses on my computer. Maybe it's corrupted now? IDK, luckily I have another computer & found a safer way to do this. Anybody else have this issue?

Occasionally some file sharing companies will put a link to an exe program for downloading instead of a file link. If you see that, you'd better avoid it.
Can you fix simon the sorcerer, not working for just stuck on workbench screen.
And when will the workbench screen appear?
It works for me, intro and game. I've only been playing for a few minutes.
@@tomaskonvicka4135 as soon as I launch it. The config file is different to the rest of the games in the archive. Please can you check it.
@@MrLeafsta I checked it out, looks like all the others. Did you enter the game settings in the a500 mini menu via the menu button (blue screen) ? If you just enter, the configuration is overwritten and only the floppy disk appears at startup.

Hi. I am sorry you are not happy enough. T-Zero is CD game, but not CD32. Is way how to run it.
You have to do it through HDF. Make a stripped down version of Workbench, copy the contents to that HDF virtual disk and make it bootable. With a command, or through WBstartup.

Yes. It´s not boot, but root. And you need also WHDload from retrogames.biz version 1.0.1. (THA500) folder.

Because of the size. The uncompressed ISO is around 500 MB, not all of them, but a package of 80 games would take up around 30 GB.

@@craigprocter1232 Would people rather download 30 GB or 3 GB? You can use the flash drive space in other ways. Team Pandora has made a wonderful Workbench full of games, programs and demos and requires a 64GB flashdrive.

@@tomaskonvicka4135 it's a 1 mnute vs 7 minutes download.. again.. this is 2022. But you do you.. just saying storage quantity and download speeds are pretty much not an issue for most people nowadays. Especially if they have bought an A500 mini.

You can use those games for another emulator, but it contains CD tracks in mp3 and those only work in WinUAE or Amiberry, not P-UAE or FS-UAE.
