I know Brett Anderson isn't mad about this song, but on the album it's a perfect light mood breaker after the serious comedown of side 2. I have always loved it.

many of my guitarist friends don't really get the rock bands of the 90's (from both sides of the Atlantic) and sort of look down upon them as usurpers of the untouchable 70's bands. Well, Bernard butler has GOT to be the MOST under rated player EVER. He is simply put, an amazing guitar genius, fresh and revolutionary in ways that put him up there with Page, Gilmour, May and SRV. I just can't believe people don't see that.

He was very much praised as a guitar god.not sure how you see him being underrated.

@@neondemon7617 when Suede was still big he was, but now he's pretty underrated

@@guusmul8704 well to be fair he has seemed to keep relatively under the radar since those days with Suede. i also feel inclined to add that Richard Oakes is something of a guitar god himself, though often derided as a "budget Bernard" or whatever by salty Suede fans - and hell, Mat Osman is one of my favorite bassists from that whole era, master of the melodic yet groovy & rhythmically-complimentary bassline on damn near EVERY song

I saw them live twice and the thing that always amazed me was the sheer power of the music. Dynamics, amazing playing and singing, clever writing etc. I remember thinking that the amps would blow up!
    Bernards poor Vox AC30...
Everyone thought he used a fuzz box in this period but it was a good old Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion kicking the AC30 up the arse 😈
And they were all sooo skinny! Bernards jeans looked like a 26" waist and he still needed a belt 😁
    Happy days!

Unfortunately the video was removed by the powers that be. I tried to copy the rest of the gig off the old vhs tape but only 2 tracks now have listenable audio so didn't want to upload the rest. Cheers, WiggedOutWorld.

Thanks for posting, such a precious moment caught in time. The crowd were mesmerised by Suede and Bernard’s Les Paul tones, this is musical history. 🎸🇬🇧

Such an awesome song. Great to see a live performance of it with the original lineup - thank you for posting. Vocals a little loud in the mix relative to guitar and bass in this recording though unfortunately.
