What a privilege it was to edit the words of one of the greatest men of our generation.
Having said that this video is not about Russell Brand at all it is about the message and that message has never been more simple, its LOVE.
I share a lot of the same beliefs with Russell and was inspired to do this project as he says things I feel and in such an open, honest and pure way on media platforms in the public eye.
Trimmed from hours of inspiring, loving and pure truth interviews/talks Russell has been involved in throughout the last year.
I do not own any of the rights to the visual or audio content within this video. It was made as creative project. An expression of newage theories in a somewhat artistic way.

I really don't understand why everyone has to put loud music over people speaking, you have to struggle to hear him, it's very distracting. At least lower the volume of it if you must have music. What's wrong with just hearing what's being said.

We shouldn't talk about how to experience "enlightenment" and whatnot until we've become "enlightened" ourselves. Else we're just regurgitating other people's words and muddying the message with our own cognitive flaws
This is sadly true... Although I always love watching people who talk about these sort of issues I always come to a painfully sickening realization that the message is not for me. I already understand, but the people who struggle, the people who just don't get it, the people who are uniformed, the people who desperately need it the most usually reject it. They are quick to call it stupid, mindless, BS, etc.

Exactly what happened to me! However, it took some time before I really appreciated and valued the lessons learned from the experience, it was too much for me to understand all at once!
This is Russel Brand's pure and honest truth. Whether you agree, whether you're cynical and shy of a perspective or two, whether you just don't want to listen to anything that challenges your beliefs or whether you just don't really agree, it cannot be denied that Brand uses every platform regardless of the show's tone, the type of audience, the reason why he's there... every platform is used not for entertainment and ego, but to promote a solution for a better world. As much as people will proclaim this guy as a wacko and some false prophet... it is ridiculous to discredit that Brand's intentions are for peace, Love, unity and equality. Russel speaks with conviction on behalf of humans... finding his logic from observing humanity and the lack of information we know about humanity, whilst not strictly choosing science or religion and using his flaws learned through cultural lessons to recognize that we can and should change these cultural lessons in order to develop positively. Even if you're the biggest cynic in the world, understanding this as selfless intent is surely inevitable.
Are those the choices?! All very well if you can gloss over the fact that brands political and ideological epiphany seems to have conveinently occurred around the same time that he had to flee the country with his tail between his legs after several high profile examples of political incorrect behaviour on the stage and radio.
For me it's not about his cod philosophy which makes about as much sense as owning a unicorn that shits out £20 notes, or even the fact that he proselytises on equality from a sequinned soapbox in the back of his multi-million dollar LA mansion, or for the fact he is unable to give an interview without mentioning with ultra studied self-deprecation that he was once the coolest druggie.
For me it's the fact that i see him for what he is, a phoney! The fact that all this new found political messiah for the disaffected youth is going little to achieve any change or engagement, whilst serving mainly to rescue his flagging career as a shite actor and comedian.

I've seen this video a million times because it sort of makes me "click" and reminds me of the grand illusion that is always in front of us. I find amazing that many of the criticisms that are directed toward him, are in relation to the antics of his past, his drug use, that he's a celebrity, a comedian, they criticize the way he looks, the way he talks, his accent, his mannerisms and his often hyperactive personality...but this plays into exactly what this brilliant man is speaking of: We give too focus on the superficial, highlight things that are irrelevant and arbitrary, and lose sight of what's truly important. Don't judge him for the mold that we as a society have placed on him. He has transcended into an insightful, compassionate, loving and very enlightened human being! A true inspiration.

Many public figures and so called "celebrities" pass one after another making a good living thanks to our mediocre consciousness or lack of it; hardly anyone is saying meaningful things that make us stop and think, or will express what can help us as a species, that will make us grow. Here is an exception....Those who have eyes will see, and those that have ears will hear.
i was like him the moment i awakened, i talked about things i wouldn't normally say, it was like an overclock of my brain, people at work were staring at me while at the same time smiling, im an introvert kind of person, i don't talk to people nor smile to them, it was a weird experience. but at the same time, fulfilling.

What he said was pretty much a combination of quantum mechanics, consciousness/unity, and Buddhism. Life is a waking dream; the reality we know doesn't exist because matters don't exist. Consciousness is the most fundamental form of the universe, hence everything is interconnected. The only way you can see through this "matrix" is through meditation. It's all in the mind; nothing is real except love. Love is the only universal truth; it's the only thing that gives life meaning.
We are not human beings with consciousness, we are consciousness temporarily inhabiting a physical vehicle.

Russell's spiritual awakening has been beautiful to watch over the years. As a Christian I like and agree with a lot of what he says. My own awakening started when I chose to follow Christ. I test everything through the lens of "What would Jesus do (or say) about this?" Without His daily guidance I'd be lost.
I hope that Russell Brand further refines his oratorical aptitude and focuses his many convictions into a more coherent, measured and pragmatic message/call to action to young people--take his awakening to the next level so to say. He comes across as charismatic, authentic, empathetic and educated on a myriad of topics. We need more famous persons such as him to employ their celebrity in order to advocate for the disenfranchised and addressing the multiple threats that challenge the present human condition and our very existence.

What a man, what a man, he has my mind rushing the entire time, when does he breath and how does he put words together so perfectly? And in what moment is he thinking about what he's about to say? Speech talent. That and the mind-opening content of what he says obviously...
A lot of people think that Russell is a walking hypocrite due to his prior history in the entertainment business; the issue he has had and the controversies he has encountered, initiated and been a part of, and because of those reasons people believe that the message he delivers is that of a mind that has been lost and is not worthy to ponder upon or even acknowledge. But ask yourself this, would you even contemplate about a man giving the same message if his entire history, livelihood and point of view was based upon the message he delivers? A man with a history such Russell Brand who then makes an unpredictable and illogical change to the man he is today makes more of an impact. Why? Because it makes people question what has caused this man to suddenly change? What has caused this sudden change in mental capacity? What has caused him to adhere and discover this so called "awareness". Men such as Russell cause us to become curious, intuitive, they tempt us to think into realms we would not do, to discover as he does and to come to a common realisation that no matter who we are and what we do we are in effect the same in every way and cannot go on, cannot continue surviving as though we are infinite. Man must come to an equilibrium and must fight those who wish for to us to remain mentally "captive", because sooner or later our current traits, which can be described as "parasitic" and "viralistic", will soon cause us to be our cause of destruction. We can no longer move from resource to resource, consuming all we can and then moving onto the next because eventually there will then be nothing left to move onto.

Love every word. I think Russell would himself puke at this background music choice though. The beauty of Russell Brand for me and the palatability of his message is his simple human down to earthness and not being presented like the second coming with an epic, dramatic, biblical, soundtrack.

More people should be religious in this way. You may think he's bullshitting or new age'y or whatever, but he's isn't preaching dogma, he is preaching his own experience and the way he views the world and life and basically self-progress. I think many people could learn from this kind of "religion".
+BearWindAppleyard I think to better yourself, you have to first learn things with your intellect and then learn them with your primal part of you, the amygdala part of your brain, your "heart" or whatever, that's the difficult but most important part. You can know that selfishness is superficial on an intellectual level, but deep down the caveman inside of you hasn't figured it out yet unless you teach them.
