Did you know you didn't need to put the microchip? You could've just put the emitter down without it. Trust me it works
Ethan Pooh Of course you can however best practice is to put all logic in microchips as it keeps everything neat / Allows labels / means you can put additional logic in & prevents emitter bugs! ;)

Putting microchips is a good practice to have. Allows you to add more things easily; for example, if you wanted a smoking barrel, you could do it easier with the microchip + smoke emitter.

Btw, I'm not sure if you know this but you can lock the camera's position by pressing down R3 while out of the poppit or while selecting a tool (eg cursor or sticker editor)

LittleBigPlanet 3 Tutorials I'm so glad they added this, the camera becomes a real nuisance when you have levels with multiple layers and it keeps zooming in and out for no reason

how would you make a sackbot pick up a custom powerup? even if youre controlling one inside a controllinator? is it possible?

In your example, are the bullets fired in the flat layer/ only affect things that are also flat?
How would you make a ammo-based system? Probably each time R1 is pressed it fills up a counter, and you could create a ammo pick up with an ammo tag, and when the weapon sensor detects it, it resets the weapon's counter, you could use a similiar concept to give a weapon clips & a reload function. You'd also need some kind of ammo slicker panel that notifys you how much ammo you have, this is probably the most complicated part to making that. I haven't made an ammo based weapon before though.
Basicly yes exactly that! but Counter should be inverted and I would also put a duplication of it onto the gun itself and make it visible in play mode! ;)

Can you make a tutorial for an advanced gun with an ammunition system because I've tried several ways of doing it and I can't get it to work. The gun won't fire at all when I try.
Well have you made sure everything in the microchip rotated right so the outputs and inputs are placed correctly
I'm totally new to this, so I'm not sure what you meant by putting a tag on the bullet. The bullet is the object that is being omitted so you need to add something to that object? What is it called and in where in your popit do you find it?
Lorenzferus it's a tag and it can be found in the sensors section of your tools bag in your popit
Hey Tutorial guy, do you have a tutorial on a working bow that is able to be charged and everything? I tried to make it myself and it sort of worked but ended up in failure.
Can you show us how to... well I dunno what to call it but what I'm trying do is (in a map I'm making), make an emitter emit something for a price (900 score bubbles) then the emitter will give an object to you if you have enough score points. I'm using a score sensor but as soon as you walk past it it takes the score points off you and the problem with that is, there are other things to buy in the map so if someone looses points walking past the sensor purchasing something they don't want... that's a problem. I tried hooking up a grabbing sensor to make it so you grab it for the thing you want, the score sensor takes the points off you and the emitter gives you what you purchased... The problem is though I can't figure out how to connect the grab sensor with the score sensor. Sorry for being so complicated but is it possible you can help?
Kelsang115 take a look at this video, you may have brushed this tutorial off as being a bit basic & skipped it. However if im understanding your request correctly it answers both of your inquiries and should help you achieve something far greater & is in-fact how I do my shops. let me know if you need further help or this tutorial is what you needed. ;D

One more request... I'm not sure of you have ever played Call of Duty Zombies? Well I have made perk machines (machines that give you abilities) and I've set up the purchasing and all that but I have no clue what so ever on how to give the player abilities.
For example, the perk Juggernog: Gives you a 25% health increase when purchased in the CoD Zombies game... how do I do that??

On to the second part... this sounds like a very expansive project. I've not actually player the COD zombies but many games have perk systems so i get the idea. I assume your using sackbots although the same would apply to custom sackboys.
so lets say your sackbot has a microchip in him that has a health bar of 10 & a duplicate microchip next to it with a health bar of 12.5. On the outside of these microchips you have a selector with the first output going into the activation of the first microchip (10 health) and the second output going into the activation of the second microchip (12.5 health) Lastly a tag sensor at max range/all layers set to detect blue tag labelled (juggernog) & place the tag sensors output into the second input of the selector. Then in your shop after the purchase of the 25% increase it activates a blue tag labelled (juggernog).

I did everything right exactly how you do it, and the bullets don't even go towards the way the gun is facing
I know this video is years old but how do you get the bullets to move, I don't seem so understand.
hey, i dont know if this is useful to you anymore considering this was posted 2 years ago, but i had the same problem and my solution to fixing it was to make sure the actual bullet object was a dynamic object and not a static object. i hope this helps in some way.

Can you give a tutorial on how to make a dissolver gun. When it hits the object, the object dissolves( not splats, dissolves)

Hello! I started playing Little Big Planet 3 today, and your tutorials have really helped me. This might seem like a noob question to someone as experienced as you, but what button did you press at 1:06 to make the part of the wood get deleted?
Never mind, I figured it out. But could you give me some pointers on the shortcuts to like copy and paste and stuff?
+Roy A sure there is a hole bunch:
Pressing R3 will show you preview mode (what the player will see in your level)
Putting your popit over an object and pressing L2 will hide it allowing you to edit things behind it (L1 while your popit is active will restore all hidden objects).
When you have an object selected pressing L3 will copy theat object and allow you to place a copy by pressing X.
Pressing R3 when you have an object selected will flip the object
Pressing Square when an object or logic is selected will bring up the tweak menu.
Pressing R2 whilst hovering your popit over an object will bring up info on the object, the same for logic outputs.
Pressing down on the Dpad will put you into play mode (for testing)
Pressing up on the Dpad will pause/play everything in level
Pressing left on the Dpad will undo
Pressing right on the Dpad will redo
Thats about your lot for shortcuts... hope this helps ;D

If you still don't know, use the contraptions sound category and pick Rapid Drummer, then tweak it's frequency to allign it with the sound of your MG, hope it helps.
