I was looking for something to watch with my kids recently and found Mythbusters on Max. My children are 7 and 5. It’s not always kid friendly, but most of the episodes are fine. In any case, they were into it immediately. We jumped around in the seasons some, and at one point we were watching some of the earliest episodes. My daughter noticed Grant wasn’t in it and asked if we could watch more episodes with him. It really was a special show and Grant was great. I hope this sale goes well. Best,

4:49 As a side note, from working at a pharmacy for many years, another kind of zip-lock bags that are wonderful are those used with hazardous waste.
I unfortunately don't remember where exactly they came from, but they had an impressive seal, were astoundingly tough, and came in 3 different sizes to accommodate most any item we needed to ship out. Small were approx. 6" X 4", medium were approx. 12" X 8", and the largest ones were about the size that you were holding on here.
There was several times over the years where it was a bit difficult to open those bad boys when sealed!😂

@@robo5013 That's pretty funny! And smart, too.
Back when I was a cashier, one of my friends was a supervisor where I worked and he had a great sense of humor. We also had the small yellow "Hazardous Materials" bags for Rx use, and I remember one night we both closed there was an exceptionally horrid smelling bill that got put into one of our registers. No one up front really noticed it, but he sure did when closing out and counting the register.
Well, right before wrapping the store up he called me back to the office to show me the yellow bag sealed and taped up, masking tape on the front of it saying something like "DO NOT OPEN," with the faint silhouette of a bill behind it when put up to the light. I think he said something along the lines of "Yeah, this one was so bad, they're gonna probably burn it at the bank..." 😂
I've had bills come through that were beat up to hell, some with makeup on them, some with blood (assumedly) on them, all that nonsense, but the occasional _rank_ ones were always unpleasant.

Like Tori gets a historically accurate Italian sword and Kari gets like an English/Scottish claymore or something and it's handled a bit tongue in cheek. I never got the "does the dog like Italian? Looks like the Hybrid III was introduced in 1976, and is still the standard (along with some other larger male, some female, and children dummies). There's some newer models that are more advanced called THOR for frontal impacts.
The II was introduced in 1972. Not sure how long it was used after the III in 76.. Also sounds like the II was mostly used for testing seatbelts.
The thing about standards like this is... they tend to be used for a LONG LONG time. Primarily because when you do a test, you want to compare it to all the previous tests done, and you'd rather do that with the same piece of test equipment. So even though the III is now approaching 50 years old, I'm not surprised it's still being used for testing.
By the time Mythbusters came along, the II they got was likely a good 30 years old, so I can see why "random government official" was willing to part with it. Knowing how government works, I can also see why he didn't want to reveal they gave it to them. "That was supposed to be sold at a GSA approved auction!!!!".

@@robo5013 It'd never happen. There's no exchange here, just getting rid of junk.
It'd be more like "you didn't follow the proper procedure in disposing of government surplus". And the consequences would be more like being fired, or demoted, or shamed. Nobody is going to prosecute this ever because it's not theft.
And even then it'd be extremely unlikely unless some a-hole got a political bug-up-their butt. Nobody REALLY cares about one 30 year old, obsolete crash test dummy taking up space in some store-room somewhere.

Any idea if the other two (or more) parts of that sword are still floating around waiting to be re-joined with that middle chunk? Getting the full (if a bit broken) sword back together would be incredible.
