“Ideas that help us grow” is beautifully said. Thank you for this and other lessons!
Thanks Andres :) means a lot
Thanks Rotem. That has given me some great help. Thanks. Peace.
Nice to hear you again
Its awesome how you break down complicated sounding stuff like "voice leading" into small comprehensive parts! Even as quite intermediate musician there is always something to take away! Best greetings from germany! Keep up the good stuff! :)
Ill try!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Beautiful. That E 1st inversion is the moment it clicked.
Thanks again Rotem, superb content as always!
🙏🙏
This is my favorite video for guitar at the moment.
RUclips is filled with lick video. We miss some chill, basic, chord movement video content. Thank you.
Thanks! Nice collection of gear you have!
Love your passion... Thank you.
Nice Rotem. Very nice

Another banger!! Such a good teacher! Thank you
Thank you!!
Thanks for another great video, Rotem. You always inspire me to think about music and my playing in new creative ways. Much appreciated! That duo sonic sounds great, too!
🙏🙏🙏 thanks man
That's a really cool guitar.
Thank you
I am stealing that E/G# inversion! 🤩 Thanks 😋
That was really sweet 😻 thx
❤️🧚♀️🙏
Just what I needed!
🎸🧚♀️
You don't even need to play guitar to get something good from this video :)
Awesome Rotem! So much useful stuff packed into a video of less than 10:00… This will definitely help to spice things up 👍
thanks man!
Nice chill tune for an epic sunny spring day here in Fairbanks Alaska
💜
Like Andreas said, thanks for this content. I’m a rock player but I learn a whole new approach to guitar subscribing to this channel. I always look forward to your videos. Truly enjoyed this one!
Thanks!!!
Love it!
Thanks Rafal!
@@RotemSivanGuitar I've been watching your videos for a while and they are wonderful. Thank, YOU, Sivan.
Great!!!!
❤️❤️🙏
Hi Rotem, I am loving the channel! I'd like to know what are the guitars you are using, i.e. this and the red one :)
Maybe sing it for a bit-
Me: When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to meee
Finally a video that has more beautiful playing than boring talking...
Hello Rotem! Is the amp you're playing through the DV Mark Little Jazz?
tu es un homme lent et doux.
Love the randomness!
No question today?
No Q. :)
I wish the tabs had some of the note embellishments.
How are you feeling today? (fa real)
Always delightful to click on your content ;)
Kinda steamy
Oh there it is. Thought you'd forgotten.
Phase out by the time change, a bit
Love this. Your tone is great, so many great colours. The one thing I am struggling with in my theory knowledge is substitutions in general.
You can swap the G for an E7 for what reason? I would assume the function is created by the tension notes in reference to the C chord, C E G.
So the G chord is giving strong tension with the leading note B and also the D. The E7 chord has those tensions plus an augmented 5th with the G#.
How are you able to substitute the G with a note that has G# which is not in C major and make it sound so good. I'm unsure when I can apply subs like this. Is there a resource that might help me?
Hey ! Check out secondary dominant chords ! Here the E7 is not in the key of C, but is the 5th chord in the key of Am. It creates tension first then strongly resolves to Am, as it contains G#. Hope this helped a little !
@@oliviervoisin3251 thanks I appreciate that. So secondary dominant chords can be used as a sub for its corresponding chord?
@@ryancallaghan9570 they work for approaching almost any chord in a progression. So E7 is not really a sub for G, but more an approach of Am.
Why does that E/G# work if the key is in G maj?
A "Postcards from Paraguay" (M. K.) vibe? 👍
What..?
Could you do a theory video on what chords you can play outside of the obvious, like on the topic of borrowed chords or something. I just feel stuck with the classic 7 chords for 1 key, I know the theory on making tones of unique chords but just don't know when to play them.
Lemme try!
@@RotemSivanGuitar You’re the best!
"Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me my only son..."
What...?
@@RotemSivanGuitar haha it's the lyrics to Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd that has that progression you started with. I realize most of your viewers must be jazz listeners so it may be an obscure reference in this context.
On another note, great video though! I love the spontaneous kind of random feel of just sharing your thoughts. Thanks!
Trying a C augmented major 7 ( C#5#7) instead of a E but does not seem to work so well. It also has the G# to lead to the A. But it is like that the added C note to the E chord doesn’t lead so well to the Am. anybody an explanation why?
cause you're missing out on the G# - D Tritone which gives the E7 chord it's dominant character leading to A.
@@nicorentzsch9946 yes indeed if I play a G# and D together and resolve the G# to A it sounds as a resolution but if I do the same with a G# and C and change the G# to A …it does not sound resolved. Tnx
Awesome Video! Whats the scale actually called? Like having the E in there - is it still c maj? Because we have that g sharp in there in the transition…? How can i basically transfer that Knowledge to other keys? Is that dorrian?
I'm just in C major & playing a V/VI
Really enjoyed my friend! Have an awesome week @UCh6bu62Kt5LzjuwGbFOop9Q!🎷🎷
