Incompetence of the allies in the Africa stems mostly from the fact that Allies have AI programmed to ignore North Africa at the beginning of the war, because without it, Mussolini got steamrolled in Libya in 1939 and never seen african land again (so it's probably a safe measure to ensure we have a North African campaign from 41)

Decided to go Aussa African liberation campaign for fun, everything good, Italians are barely holding Tobruk,Vichy's central Africa has 18 axis divisions cut off supply, entire west coast is under mine/allied control. FF 1940-1941. Germany steamrolls North Africa due to UK taking all divisions out, leaving 4 half dead, starved and unsupplied Belgian and French divisions to protect Egypt. Btw, entire Italian fleet is only 32 destroyers + 12 subs
I might be about to make you mad if you didn't know this: If you save and reload the game every 2 days the AI will never declare war/attack you. Meaning you can wait until you are fully prepared for war and easily get the 30 minutes of hell achievement.
I just did this and got the achievement, Thank you HatlessSpider! A few things that I did differently in my run as other comments have noted: 1) I just opened and saved tediously under 48 hours to prevent germany from declaring on me 2) I was able to move my supply hub by clicking a button on Warsaw (idek how that happened but 21days until it got supply) 3) I opened and saved real quick if they were wittling down Warsaw too much 4) I just played it until they declared on the Soviets and Germany had 1.5 mil casualities. It was a pretty easy achievement.

But this strategy was just ridiculously easy as you trick the ai into believing that ur pretty much dead sp they nonstop cycle charge you and essentially kill themselves. Really fun strategy!
26:08 a better solution to baiting the AI into attacking you is to withdraw a couple units from the frontline at a time. As soon as the AI thinks your frontline is “weak”, they’ll restart their offensives. It won’t compromise your troop’s organization and you won’t suffer breakthroughs like when you fired a frontal assault.
It works indeed, second capital hub trick is literally next level play. The only major annoyance is, when war with soviets begins, Germans start refusing to attack you at all. Putting your armies on exercise helps to lure them into assault, but that can be a bit dangerous (because exercise lowers org much). Still, good way to do it, much appreciated.
You can always go on the offensive when they stop attacking as much too. You’d probably need to be a bit careful not to overextend, but you can always offensively inflict casualties
Little note around 6:15 to slightly optimize more. I would HIGHLY recommend one of your generals be Stainslaw Sosabowski, simply because you can gives him Camouflage Expert before you even unpause, and that 50% CAS damage reduction is nothing to sneeze at. Additionally, with the MIO's I would very much recommend going into the ones for Arty and Inf equipment, they both have bonuses that can increase your production efficiency gain and/or cap, and every little bit helps here. Same for tanks, if you plan to use space marines later.
Absolutely amazing guide! I tried it out and even though i took a few liberties of my own and may have made some wrong it still worked just as amazing and I did not loose any divisions taking back Europe

I think i might have a semi solution to the capitol supply hub issue. What I did was reloaded that game and i think it tricked the game into moving it back to Warsaw after about a week or two. Not thoroughly tested, but if anyone is struggling give it a try.

Hey Hatless and everybody, thanks for the video! I had the same issue with the supply hub. I was always counting on the "capital hub" indicator, but in the end it switched even though that for a moment it said regular "supply hub. At the end of October all was well!
Nice! Glad it worked out in the end for you. It appears based on all the player data I’m getting from comments that it is somewhat of an RNG thing. Sometimes it will switch back properly and then it’s an easy hold, and sometimes for whatever reason it will refuse to switch
one more thing about moving your capital hub, the tile the supply hub is in has to not be in active combat, because if it is the green star doesnt show up meaning you cant move the supply capital
The hoi4 supply has been so bugged lately, constantly bugging out saying supply hubs that should clearly have access to your capital have no connection.
I was playing domocratic Germany and Russia was being a pain , I had liberated a democratic Russia and I think they joined Japan , I was at war with Japan and for some reason the territory I took from them had no supply.
i have a question: couldn't you have banked manpower through the recruit and deploy tab so you wouldnt lose it all in the initial invasion and not have to go up conscription law? or does it not work like that?
Had to do that achievement with no focus tree and research unlocked, dlcs bugging out, even if you capitulate its not the end, you can remake your army in ingerland then naval invade northern france and keep going
Worked great but I ended up losing at 1.1 mil german casualties since Warsaw Garrison fell. All 14 units were slowly killed cause Germans NEVER stopped attacking. Is there any solution for this? Do I need to make it so they sit on Warsaw + 1 tile next to it? I'm rly annoyed as it was going so well. EDIT: SOLUTION I FOUND WITH HELP FROM HATLESS SERVER IS BELOW IN REPLIES TO THIS COMMENT :D
@@andregamealeatorio4395 I figured out the solution. You basically need to just quit the game and then go back in to it/the save. The germans stop attacking for a few hours. It took me 4-5 times going back in or out but it gave my warsaw guys enough few hours to regain org. Eventually the germans will just fully stop attacking and let your warsaw guys full entrench. At that point its certain you'll win. The germans cant break your fully orged/entrenched warsaw garrison and in my game they basically stopped attacking Warsaw at all after that. I think its a matter of simply regaining enough org through the save strat to convince AI that warsaw ISNT about to fall (which is the original reason why they keep incessantly attacking, (AI feels they can take the city so they keep attacking due to low org))
@@hatless_spider to get more out of it, check if czechs have retained any of their tech and if you can license it. They're slightly ahead of poles in arms and licensing gives 20% bonus to research.
If you queue up your manpower in recruiting before germany attacks you and abort recruiting after everything has fallen, then you can have three times more the manpower.
I’ve been hearing this in a lot of comments. Unfortunately I think it may just be an rng thing, so you may have to restart until it works. If we ever figure out exactly what causes the switch, I’ll be sure to update it!
Oddly enough this video is working for the achievement, despite the fact i made a few adjustments on focuses mainly. I have tried simular strategies in the past with these 2 tiles, the result wasn't even close to 1.8M. Well done.
Not sure why it doesnt work for me, followed your steps exactly but warsaw falls everytime since AI will keep hammering into it and since its one tile only there is no chance to reorg
@@hatless_spider Yeah I got supplies there but they put way more troops around Warsaw than in your video, troop count and template also matches yours exactly. Nevermind, for some reason going back to main menu will make them stop attacking and its its enough time to get the org backup, managed to do it this way

Im a bit of a noob on HOI4 specifically (maybe I shouldn't be watching cheese/exploit videos, lol), but I don't understand how this specific exploit works: Is it the concentration of forces on those 2 tiles? I understood the trick with the faction supply and the puppet supply, but as far as I can see your templates are not special, and you don't have a lot of them. Also understood holding enough VP to not capitulate with the high war support. It's just battle wise that I'm confused. I wanted to think it's the rotation of troops into the puppet to re-org but the capital tile is also holding with no rotation of troops? How are you holding and how are they taking so much casualties? (just from entrenchment and terrain?) I don't need a full explanation but if you could point me in the correct direction that'd be awesome 😅🙏
Templates aren’t super special. The biggest things are digging in and shooting down cas so they don’t whittle us down to nothing. Cycling the troops into Katowice is the biggest thing this Strat offers. It basically makes it so you don’t have to worry about losing either tile, and Germany tries harder to kill us off than other strats offer
i tried this strategy but i wasnt able to release Czechoslovakia as a puppet, the button wouldn’t work unless i released them not as a puppet. is this a known issue?

Wouldn't the classic Warsaw-Lodz riverline strat work too? 3)idk, by releasing Belarus and Ukraine you can slowly start to request their forces, no? Plus use their manpower.
1. Because Czechia is a puppet, we automatically have military access. 2. Yes, Warsaw is a single tile, but it holds well as long as we get supplies there. The classic line works OKish, but it’s much less efficient and more likely to get overrun 3. You could do that with Belarus and Ukraine, but it isn’t too helpful. Really the only issue with this strategy is is that sometimes for unknown reasons it seems that the supply will not return to warsaw
You can, I just didn’t want to bother with doing that. It probably would have saved me from having to switch to sbr though. But either way, I wanted the focus to be more on the fast achievement of 1.8 mill casualties rather than on other exploits
My game just decided not to have warsaw as a capital hub. I waited for the rest of poland to be taken and then joined allies, but no let katowize be capital hub forever.
@@hatless_spider I don’t think the “prepare for the inevitable” part of the focus tree exists in earlier versions so it would be much more difficult to, I’ll give it a try anyway.

Oh you need Man in Guns DLC for this technique i dont have this one. it is impossible without i have no Guns what i should do? next time you need to say this
@GermanMcCookies it is still possible without the dlc, but more difficult since you can't get all the guns for free. If you add maintenance companies in you can get a lot of guns and equipment still

Every time i have to click on Katowice (Green Star) to change supply hub and then it suddently give me the capital hub back in warsaw idk why it is so bugy.
@@hatless_spider it did that thing before and after joining the allies. I simply did Warsaw uprising because I ended up capitulating. But since I'd already inflicted 550k and a lot of equipment losses the Germans struggled against the Soviet a lot more.
@@KaiserMateo115I think if it ever switches Katowice to being the capital hub, that is what messes it up. So as long as it says capital hub in Warsaw then it should be fine as far as supplies
Another person said they had this happen, but took a save, and when they reloaded the save the Germans stopped with the all out attacks and they were able to win

Instead of doing the fallback line you can do the field marshal frontline/garrison order to continue getting planning bonus
True, but the nice thing about the fallback line is that the troops will automatically reinforce.

Tried this, but AI attacked my force in Warsaw non-stop, so they were dead in november-december :(

I got an option when in F4 mode to click on warsaw and chose to move capital hub to Warsaw. Same as when you chose whether allies may use your supply.

3. You could do that with Belarus and Ukraine, but it isn’t too helpful. Really the only issue with this strategy is is that sometimes for unknown reasons it seems that the supply will not return to warsaw

You can, I just didn’t want to bother with doing that.
It probably would have saved me from having to switch to sbr though.
But either way, I wanted the focus to be more on the fast achievement of 1.8 mill casualties rather than on other exploits
Capital hub still doesn't want to move back to Warsaw even though i did not join allies. Kinda weird.

My game just decided not to have warsaw as a capital hub. I waited for the rest of poland to be taken and then joined allies, but no let katowize be capital hub forever.
If you click on warsaw in supply mode it should give you an option to move capital hub back to Warsaw.
Does this work in old no dlc hoi4 Poland focus tree
It might, but I’m not certain.

@@hatless_spider I don’t think the “prepare for the inevitable” part of the focus tree exists in earlier versions so it would be much more difficult to, I’ll give it a try anyway.

It could potentially be defended, but would be more difficult especially early on

@@hatless_spider ı guess the solution is try again for the fastest capital supply hub recovery ı try it like 20 times and at my last (current :D), it came back immediately and early 40 already 450k casualties thx

Oh you need Man in Guns DLC for this technique i dont have this one. it is impossible without i have no Guns what i should do? next time you need to say this
@GermanMcCookies it is still possible without the dlc, but more difficult since you can't get all the guns for free.
If you add maintenance companies in you can get a lot of guns and equipment still

Every time i have to click on Katowice (Green Star) to change supply hub and then it suddently give me the capital hub back in warsaw idk why it is so bugy.
hatless my capital hub keeps switching back and forth and my units in warsaw died. do you know why this happens?
Did you wait to join the allies?
That seemed to fix that issue for me
@@hatless_spider it did that thing before and after joining the allies. I simply did Warsaw uprising because I ended up capitulating. But since I'd already inflicted 550k and a lot of equipment losses the Germans struggled against the Soviet a lot more.
@@KaiserMateo115I think if it ever switches Katowice to being the capital hub, that is what messes it up.
So as long as it says capital hub in Warsaw then it should be fine as far as supplies

You have to remove the suppply hub there either manually or automatically

Sorry, every time I tried this all the divisions in Warsaw get destroyed because the Germans do not stop attacking at all. Thumbs down from me.
