  • In this video I show you how to replace your: air filter, fuel filter, oil and filter, and spark plugs. I bought my kit from tractor supply for $56 total. It takes approx 25-45 mins to do the entire job with basic hand tools.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I would add a number of things. I think this was a great opportunity to show how things are done but 23 hours is a little early for a lot of that maintenance. Oil change interval on that engine is first change at 5 hours (it has break in oil installed) and after that cub cadet recommends every 50 hours. Kohler recommends every 100 hours. Most people seem to do it at the end of the season unless they are putting a lot of hours on it. Kohler sells a long interval oil kit as well for 300 hours but I'm not sure I'd feel confident going that long.
    The Air Filter looked really good, and the prefilter is washable, just let it air dry before reinstalling it.
    The fuel filter clearly had spectacular flow and was not in need of replacement yet. Sparkplugs generally shouldn't need to be replaced this early either, clamping it off can prevent the gasoline spills. Yours looked to be in excellent condition.
    For spark plugs, you can actually clean them up in your case (some ash and carbon but nothing serious) and regap them as long as the electrode isn't eroded and the ceramic is not cracked or discolored Assuming of course, that they were otherwise performing well.)

    Would you consider using a small clamp on the gas line before removing the gas filter? Perhaps that would limit the spillage. Great video!

    • @MrV2u
      @MrV2u  11 месяцев назад +1

      You can use a small vise grip. The small amount of spill isn’t that much brother. You don’t want to damage the line so use caution and you’ll be good to go. Let me know how you make out and thanks for the feedback.

    • @MrV2u

      Start it up and get it warm. It’s not going to harm anything. You want the contaminants to get all mixed up and it helps with making the oil drain faster/properly too.
