BTS' label HYBE is facing an investigation over sajaegi allegations, as South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has received petitions demanding a probe into why the label was blackmailed for chart-rigging in 2017. The investigation will be overseen by the Korea Creative Content Agency. In 2017, HYBE was blackmailed by four individuals, one of whom was named Mr. Lee, accusing the label of sajaegi for BTS' 2015 album. The ministry received a petition stating that if the sajaegi allegations are proven true, their Order of Cultural Merit should be revoked.
