    My favorite 3rd party Amazon seller story was the guy I bought a 20$ discontinued set left the 6$ Walmart clearance sticker on it to make sure I felt ripped off.

      oh my - definitely could see that happening

      @jasonmarcus8896 Год назад +6

      That's not a big deal. You were obviously happy with the price. The seller made a profit and you got the set for the price you were willing to pay. Win-win.

    I am a reseller on eBay, however I am also a prime target for Amazon dropshippers, I get full retail prices which means they are getting WAY over retail, I always think I should probably send a business card in all of those packages, and I love the messages to “not include any pricing or invoices in the package” give yourself away more lol! If Amazon wouldn’t be so stupid about who they allow to sell LEGO we probably wouldn’t have the overprice problem as only a few people determine the price and not the market overall. It is a REALLY broken system!

    • @BrickTsar
      @BrickTsar  Год назад +8

      Yep - I had thought about including the invoice and a message to checkout Bricklink next time to save $100s

      But its people like you who hike up the prices for genuine collectors like me. So I just hope people like you end up buying stuff that you cant sell because people like me start refusing to pay those rediculous prices.

    • @LEGbrOs
      @LEGbrOs Год назад +4

      @@penfold7800 touché, I base prices off the current market conditions vs marking them up myself so it works like any other goods market in the world, but ask yourself how would you collect retired stuff at all without people like me? You can’t simply buy it at a store!?

    Hey Jaabo
    Generally, I’ve never had too many issues with buying from Amazon. To be honest, I rarely buy LEGO from them as I want my VIP points.
    When I have, in the past, Amazon have stuck shipping labels on the box itself and have ruined gifts for others!
    Last year I got an email from Amazon offering me the LEGO Mighty Bowser set for 50% off. I jumped at the deal. When the box arrived (within the shipping box) it looked as if it had been run over by a steamroller. Of course I complained to Amazon only to be told, and have pointed out, that I had actually purchased a return, hence the damage. Thankfully the box, as damaged as it was, contained all the bricks!
    Amazon can be a good place to purchase “anything and everything” but, you also have to remember it can be a case of “buyer beware!”

    I remember back I used to buy some discontinued/retired LEGO sets such as Amazon and eBay, which were expensive. But I found out that Bricklink has a cheaper price to buy retired sets.

    I‘ve bought once a discontinued Pharaos Quest set, it was one of the smaller ones. New, in box for MSRP and it actually showed up in perfect condition and fast. I don‘t know how this was possible, probably I‘m the only one that had this luck 😄

  • @jeremychurch5683

    I think there’s a difference between fulfilled by Amazon and fulfilled by somebody else, if when you order your set and it says fulfilled by Amazon or Walmart than it is coming right from them, if it says sold by Amazon but fulfilled by somebody else then yes you are getting it from somebody else. I think if you buy something that is fulfilled through Walmart or Amazon you probably won’t have an issue, I’ve done it plenty of times and have had no problems.

  • @Mardigrasman23

    I never understand that. Or worse when people buy brand new sets on eBay for more then retail when they are still on the retail shelves

    Great video and thank you for the warning! I always try to get LEGO sets as soon as they come out so I don’t have to deal with overpriced sets. And if I’m looking for old minifigs I always use Bricklink :)

  • @penfold7800

    Im with you on this one. I really hate the whole fiasco. I bet a lot of those things I bid for on ebay that went way above what they should have cost were bought by drop-shippers who then hike up the prices. Its just rediculous. I hope you get to cancel this order and then find a genuine buyer who is delighted to recieve your sale in the condition expected. ...oh yeah, just to add; Ive even had the tracking from something I bought actually give me the drop-ship warehouse address it got sent to before being forwarded on to me.

    Most sellers who do this don't last long. Amazon has a zero tolerance policy.
    People are willing to pay more on Amazon and eBay because of trust issues.
    It is not easy to get your money back on BL if you get cheated.
    Personally, I would never sell a high dollar set on Amazon, because of the generous return policy.
    A buyer can cut open the seals, remove all the minifigures and then ship it back to Amazon.

    • @BrickTsar

      I’ve seen way too many videos of sellers getting scammed like that. It’s a joke. And it was why I try to prevent Amazon drop shippers from trying to use me as a middle man

    Never buy from third party sellers unless the price is right. They price stuff high on sites like Walmart, Amazon, Target, cause your random person won’t know better.
    Every time I order on Target and Walmart I always filter the main retailer only.

    I always check on the Amazon page for SHIPS FROM and SOLD BY. I'm ok if "sold by" is a 3rd party because Amazon will protect your order, but I won't buy anything that doesn't ship from Amazon. That's where the trouble is.

    I always avoid third party shippers on Amazon. Most of the time they don't indicate where they are. Could be China or only God knows where. If it says sold by XXX but shipped by/from Amazon then you are probably fine.

      Dabbler doesn’t get the point of the issue. I sell Lego - for profit. Good grief. Sell your own product. I do not choose to be the middle man. If you buy from me - feel free to sell for much more. I don’t care. Your response indicates you didn’t watch the video so why am I wasting my time with you
