As someone who works at amazon the boxes could most likely be damaged and we send them off anyway. During training your told if the box is damaged (they specifically use Lego sets as an example) it’s only cosmetic damage and is still fine to send out as the set is fine inside but during Christmas time we’re told not to as it’s more likely to be a present

I can understand why Amazon has this policy, they didn't become a world-owning retail juggernaut by throwing away stock willy nilly after all..... but especially with something like Lego, anything collectible, the boxes are such a vital part of the long-term value of the product that I'm surprised they haven't stopped sending out damaged boxes just from the number of refunds they'd have to process from AFOLs. Yeah , i wold like that set like 15$ with two figures iron man in his mk 3 suit and the pilot of the mech . But i think the set how it is now is a good size for the price . Sorry for bad english

The most complex set I've ever made as a child was probably the monster hunters ghost train. A lot of pieces. I was probably 7-8 at the time but I completed it in like a day. Really fun set to put together!! :)

Interesting video. I can't blame the people who had terrible Amazon packing issues, but it's really interesting to see these reviews. At 12:53 I applaud the 8 year old grandson who built the Creative Expert London Bus. It was intended for people twice his age. I think the most complex sets I built when I was 8 were the 2003 Takanuva, Makuta, and Takua & Pewku titan sets from LEGO Bionicle.
I have gotten a few smashed boxes from Amazon. They shipped them In envelopes so I assume they got smashed in the post. Not really a issue as I intended to build the set.

Heh. I almost had that happen once... That might actually be how you ordered it. Amazon has this "frustration free packaging" option that's literally just slapping the shipping label on the actual box, as you said. No idea why that's an option but there it is. Make sure to read the order description very carefully before you complete it :)

I ordered the mos eisley cantina from Amazon a few months ago and they shipped it in the legos actual box! The box was destroyed beyond recognition and was 95% tape. By some miracle it had all the pieces and the instructions were not damaged.

Amazon has this "frustration free packaging" option that's literally just slapping the shipping label on the actual box, as you said. No idea why that's an option but there it is. Make sure to read the order description very carefully before you complete it :)
