@@jeffrobagman2834 yeah they do, but the industrial term used in, especially, the US is more to Skinny puppy then to einsurzede. From my Swedish perspective I would maybe call Skinny EBM, NIN for industrial and eisturzende, gristle and company for industri or pre-industrial.
Definitely recommend the Ain't It Dead Yet tour. What 3 guys were able to create live was unreal. Side note, they preferred a living drummer who sounded like a drum machine
cEvin is an absolute beast on the drums. On the first Oghr tour, he played drums (after the Doomsday festival), I think it was a sort of trial for them reforming Puppy. He was great there too.
Skinny puppy is probably the single most important contributing factor to the existence of NIN as this was one of Trent’s favorite bands that most inspired him to start making his own music.
For those who were fortunate enough to see too Dark live , I'll be jealous until I'm in the ground. Described " people were running for the doors, screaming , crying, laying on stairs tripping " . To add to the mystique, the footage was "lost" of the show. So very little is floating around . Tiny vid bits of the scariest show ever made.
Always nice to see someone react to Skinny Puppy for the first time. Sonic experimentation is part of what defined the industrial genre, certainly with the old school bands, so soundscapes like this are fairly common. NIN and Ministry are just a few examples of nineties bands that reached more mainstream exposure by blending in elements of rock and metal.
Addiction (First Dose) and Nature’s Revenge. You’ll get it. Rabies was an amazing album but Al Jourgenson’s influence is audibly present. Too Dark Park, Cleanse, Fold, Manipulate, and the Process for definitive Puppy. D.R. Goettel died in 1995 just after the Process was recorded. Ohgr and reconstituted SP are great, but go to 95 or prior for true SP ❤
Super ironic that you get a NIN feel considering that Skinny Puppy was Trent Reznor's biggest influence to the point that he straight up plagiarized them in the first NIN album
Ok so this footage is from early 90's maybe. This song was released in 84. That is why they don't have wireless. The av band couldn't afford it. There would be no NIN if there wasn't Skinny Puppy.
Nine Inch Nails' "down in it" pretty much only happened because of "dig it" by Skinny Puppy.
Thanks for doing Skinny Puppy my favorite band ever. This was a good tour. So many memories of that night in Atlanta.
Skinny puppy are the original masters of industrial music. NIN, marylin Manson and all of them owe their shit to skinny puppy
Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire and Einsteurzende Neubauten all predate Puppy. Trent has definitely cited them as a big influence though.

I love that!
Too Dark Park by Skinny Puppy is a fearful album it will never be matched for pure terror.
Last Rights does a good job of challenging that.

Speaking of Canadian industrial acts, Frontline Assembly are frickin great, as well. Without Skinny Puppy, there'd be no Frontline Assembly
Considering that Bill Leeb (aka Rhys Fulber) left Puppy and formed FLA, I can't really argue with that.

Other tracks to check out by Canadian Industrial band Skinny Puppy - Assimilate, Candle, Pro-test and Magnifishit.
The live version where Al Jourgenson shreds guitar over this whole song is the best version I think.
Shut off all the lights and play "aint it dead yet" live. The soundscapes transport you
I've never heard anything like that! Not surprising, I guess. Maybe a bit more surprising that I really liked it.
If you want to go down the rabbit hole of Skinny Puppy, watch Ain't It Dead Yet.
Check out the album ("Remission") version.
I was there! Amazing show.
I had the privilege of seeing SP 14 times over the years. Simply the best stage performances. Ever. TDP was, my hands down favorite tour.
So lucky to have seen them on the Too Dark Park tour. 😭
This had 666 views when I clicked on it. Sorry about that.
PRE-NIN

"Worlock", ""Dig It" would make for good reactions too
Watch "ain’t it dead yet"…. It is a sonic/visual experience
Scaremeister is cEvin keys YT Channel …
Ginx this is what ingo type of music he listens to? I'm shocked but in a good way. Wintersun Alex ❄️👍

It's from the GWOTR tour DVD, so somewhere between 2003-5.
Oh no she didn’t say it reminded her of NIN. 😂 IYKYK.
I am truly glad GENX getting exposed to Skinny Puppy.
@@jakepena5292Ha! Circa 73 . I tripped to too Dark in my bedroom . My first exposure too both experiences.
If this didnt blow your mind, dont bother with more. Its not for you. Its all good.
Oh I will absolutely be doing more reactions to them!🙂
Deep Down Trauma Hounds from Ain't It Dead Yet....you should check it out
Gotta love a band that samples Bugs Bunny!!
I'll agree to go with "different." 🤐
Clueless
