A true classic never goes out of style. This movie held up so well. The remake was a wonderful homage but this flick really takes the cake.

This is good, but the authenticity of the remake cannot be denied

@@bf1255 Oh absolutely. They really spent the necessary time to get it right and they did not disappoint. All around great homage and also added to the original in a respectful and appropriate tone. Bravo.

This is why I love Rooster. He just tells it like it is.

Depends on yr age as far as whats better. Folks my age grew up with the Duke. Nothing better than the original. Doesn't matter which one was more accurate. Just difference in generations. Nothing else.

What the hell does the judge think he needs to bang his gavel here for? 1:06 Love the glare he gets from Rooster!

As much as I love John Wayne I think it's pretty obvious that Jeff Bridges is a superior actor. And the 2010 version of True Grit is significantly better in basically every way other than classic status

I actually disagree. Mostly because if your somewhat familiar with theater. You understand disagree why this scene is shot the way it is.
If the Duke was alive and had today's technology. I have no doubt it would steamroller the 2010 movie. Despite how wonder that remake is.
