The way I learned this in Shuri Ryu back in the day was as a quick inward circular deflection followed quickly and directly by a simultaneous palm heal smash to the face and groin. This technique was usually followed quickly and directly by a mae geri (front kick) or kenteki (groin kick). My Sensei has caught me with this combination many times during my tutelage under him. Even as a black belt it was hard to defend against because you don't see it coming and it always put me on my ass. To anyone interested play with that combo. Make it sharp , fierce and direct and see how it works for you. Osu

Trying to control at the wrist of the attacking arm doesn't work as the attacking arm is retrackted and the opposition tries keeping control over it. The circular motion buys a little time to move in and to try to control higher on the arm (where the range of motion is more limited) with the follow up hand. And that may even be the same hand while the second hand attacks or meets the follow up of the opposition.
Going from crossed arms to open position is also ... unconventional. With sucker punches one mostly gaines the outside only after the first uke from inside. If at all.

You could use this in a grappling situation too.
Many people foget the grappling techniques that are hidden in kata.

That move is not a block, it's a trhow.
This is the problem with most tradicional martial arts that don't train against live resistance. It degenerates and moves lose their purpose.

@@viniciuspaiva3889 the only way to use this move is in a grapling situation. No opponent is slow enougth to have an attack blocked this way

Keep showing these useless applications. Still make fun of practitioners, who are ignorant and stupid by continuing to see the same applications over and over and convince themselves that they are correct. But the masters of the past weren't stupid. They are those of the present, who do not know the bunkai of kata, and they invent anything to mask their ignorance.
