Illidan used legion tech to tear sky and open portal between Azeroth and Argus. Might new legion tech. But as soon as Sargeras have access Sargerite Stone or whatever its name he could tear that rift himself, use his favourite mount and do whatever he wants to Azeroth.
Sargaras didn't know the exact position of Azaroth in the Twisting Nether, but then Illidan used the Sargarite Keystone to open a portal massive enough to fit Sargaras and linked it with a planet in the heart of Legion territory.
The best part about legion wasn't reuniting with Alleria and turelyon, it was the respect and friendship that grew between illidan and velen... It was always light vs dark between them and at the very end they both saw the same vision and I love that, also proving how strong Illidan actually is I'm so glad that "redemption" since black temple was done in such a cool way, with the nod to maiev and illidan " the hunter is nothing without the hunt" to " the hunter is nothing without his prey" lore wise this expansion was so full and added such a great end to what originally was the story of warcraft,
I thought it was the way that they brought back Illidan and didn't have him interact or encounter Malfurion or Tyrande one time except for a letter after it all ended.

After literally everyone points out straight up that Illidan has been doing nothing but help (both in WC3 and Legion) he STILL can't mend bridges with Illidan. Also never has it occur to him that MAYBE rubbing in his brother's face he's sleeping with Tyrande isn't the smartest or noblest call. And literally *all* of Malfurion's feats and accomplishments are things gifted to him, whether by title or by Cenarius and the druidic powers, which could have gone to Illidan instead. Nobbel had a great time with legion and we had a great time with him (thank you for all the work and the great content). All hail to the lore walker Nobbel ^^
One thing you might not know Nobbel, Varimathras has more dialogue if you kill The Coven of Shivarra before him. And that dialogue seems to be intended for BfA !
*Spoilers* Alliance - So your Alliance still endures. Longer than I expected, though she has already planted the seeds of its downfall. She is patient, that one When your thrones run red with betrayal... when your holy places burn and the shattered mask hangs above your hearth... only then you will know. And it will be too late. Horde - So, she found me at last. Sent her underlings to finish the job. Tell me, when she seized your throne of hides and bones, was your allegiance forced? No... I'd wager you surrendered it willingly... or were convinced you did. It matters not. You are blind to the darkness in your midst.
I was just watched the cinematic and was like "Man I wish Nobbel or someone would explain to me what just happened since I just skipped through alot of the story and don't raid anymore" Thanks Nobbel, I didn't think the Burning Legion would be ended just like that, seems like it happened so fast
krim7 The Green Sargeras was probably just one of his Avatar. He likely also had a Purple form to go with the Void/Shadow shit as well. I mean, he is basically Satan, and he does want to stop the Void Lords and shit.
Man, what a great video. Can't imagine the time it took to edit all of it, but it was definitely worth the effort. I wonder in what direction they will take the story from here on, but as long Nobbel makes videos about them, I'll certainly be interested.
I kinda agree with talliesin in his video about the ending, I kinda like that Illidan stayed and wasnt really a "sacrifice" he didnt do it "for us" he did it for himself, he is THE demon hunter and there it is.. the source of the Burning legion, the big bad demon, the one and only! kinda makes sence that illidan just MUST fight him, yes all the other points of nobble are perfectly valid, poor Maiev... where the HEK is Wration? why is Tyrane such a masive Bitch?
If I remember correctly to the destruction warlock artifact lore, then Sargeras wanted to corrupt Azeroth and make her into his own. So I guess this is why he turns into a cloud,to simply corrupt her and after the Pantheon begin to summon him back to the seat, his last effort was to try destroy the planet, because it's stil better than left to be corrupted by the void.
i honestly got a little choked up over Illidan's goodbyes. Though Malfurion and Tyrande's responses left me a little ticked off. I always like Illidan and saw him more as a hero or antihero, this was such a fitting and perfect sendoff for him. I'm glad they brought him back, so they could finally do justice to the character. full circle indeed. also who else is kinda loving the relationship (friendship?) Illidan and Velen developed? that goodbye between them was pretty cool. to think, after 10000 years of being misunderstood and treated like a villain, it would be a holy prophet from another world that understood him best.
It's so amazing and satisfying that we finally gets to see the Titans and Sargeras in the game. Blizzard has outdone themselves once again. And thank the light you're here to clarify their complicated lore, Nobbel :D
But also a little confusing. Sargeras took the entire pantheon on by himself and slew them all. And yet the pantheon, weakened and tortured for years, can somehow stop Sargeras now?
I know that, although Sargeras never slew them, he killed Aggramar, hence why he was able resurrect and corrupt him so easily. While the others pretended to be dead while their spirits went into hiding. Wasn't my point though. :)
story is mess though and still has holes in it, whole Sargeras humping the world was never explained, if he was there why didn't he just destroy us already? Legion is for sure better WoD was a mess so many things were cut out, still its messy in story
ReZhorw yeah i was kind of on the fence like if they show them out ruins the mystique, which it kinda does, and i never wanted to see sargeras bc i thought he'd look corny, but it wasn't bad. Sargeras i was hoping would look more like that one art picture that floats around where he's green and really demonic looking but he looked alright
What I want to know is, what is going to happen to the rest of the demons? There were, after all, supposed to be millions of them. Will someone take command of them? Will they devolve into utter chaos, each doing their own thing? I'm reminded sharply of why "there must always be a Lich King" and want to know how this will play out.
lol imagine some of the demons become "allied races" in future expansions kind of how the forsaken came from the scourge… that would be completely ridiculous but I still need to play a manari so plz blizz make this happen thanks
Maybe illidan can take the charge of them,to rally them against void.Since some of the demons acknowledge void and wants to fight it Ex:Lady Heretica in Argus
Either they're currently reeling from the fact that their master has been beaten and need time to adjust, or they're going to turn on themselves in some kind of war of succession.
Y'all gotta realise the demons existed before the Legion. They would most probably return to their own factions, with many new ones as well. Though on which planet(s) is hard to say.
Saw countless thumbnails of YT videos showing the end cinematic, was over hyped but didn't look, and forced myself to wait to this specific video that I knew would come one day, to have the full story from A to Z, with all the details in-between. Thanks a lot for putting it out that quick!
Looks to me like they planned to teleport us to those planets but didn't finish it in time. Even the voice lines of the boss make it seem like the portal will send us on a different planet. It's really weird and kind of disappointing, even though the fight is decent.
From what I would guess, I'd say it didn't work out because of performance issues. The Inquisition in Tomb of Sargeras uses similar mechanics and it is one of the worst FPS killers.
Revisiting the Legion story, I concur it is one of the best in the Wow games. Thank you for these amazing videos @Nobbel! Side note: I loved how before the credits rolled you pointed out all the remaining questions you had about Legion lore lol.
Because it makes no sense that a titan would just let himself be killed by us while that titan could have just transformed to planet sized and stomp us out of existence
it looks like when they walk through space their size dramatically changes, idk maybe the pantheon they just let their egos go and turn back to their normal sizes.
André Anuatti Because, good sir, Chronicle explicitly states that the Titans created the Keepers to war against the Old Gods for fear their "colossal forms" would harm Azeroth.
I feel like that datamined info answered Alot of question's. Thanks for that. This xpac has really built a lore heavy universe. Here's hoping they can keep it up.
I think saying "simply cause he wants to" is a bit of a slap to the face of Illidan for staying behind, other people may think it's whimsical but the illidan story I've watched and read showed he was someone who sacrificed everything and took a path that made him be viewed in contempt simply to be able to combat Sargearas I think it would have been weirder for him to simply give up on it simply because the the pantheon said they would imprison sarg. So I see it as a very fitting decision from him.
Dude the amount of time and effort you go into these video is astounding, as you go into complete detail and makes sure that none of the story is left out
Thanks for throwing this together. I wasn't able to play end-game for non-gameplay reasons, so I have missed quite a bit. Legion was definitely my favorite expansion. So much lore, art, beauty, etc. Sure, all of the questions at the end are shared! but that doesn't change how much I enjoyed it.
All jokes aside maybe there is a reason Sargeras struck Silithus, cause we have learned that the bad guys don't do things without a reason. Maybe that's where we are supposed to look for N'Zoth instead of fighting over shiny blood. Really hope they clear up the things mentioned in the video and they set up the next expansion appropriately. Great video as always Nobbel.
i doubt he knew exactly where the old gods were, and purposely struck right in front of (because hes in anquirajh not silithus) the prison of the one thing he feared. He did everything to save the universe, why would he just doom it cause he inst the one to save it his way.
So glad this video exists. i got so burnt out trying to just get to this point on my toons. With all the time gates and grinds I was just so...so done lol I'm happy to see how the story ended without me actually having to fight my way through Antorus myself through LFR and what not. Thanks again, Nobbel!
The whole story was that the Horde and the Alliance failed. That is why the class order halls rose up - to do what the Horde and Alliance could not do - save the world.
Regarding "avatars" and all that. Seems to me they can dynamically adjust their size. The friggin seat of the pantheon has those size chairs so clearly they're used to fit in them when necessary and not only when they're weak.
Hey excellent video and as a non-native-english user i must really thank you for the subtitles and the amazing narrative you deploy, it's almost like reading a nobel with meme's reference. An overall, Legion was bigger than the little humans they wrote it, thank you Nobbel.
After all this I get the feeling that we're sacrificing the power of our weapon to repair the wound on Azeroth and in doing so she repays us by giving us a sliver of her power in the form of The Heart of Azeroth.
Can you imagine what kind of deep spiritual moment the heroes must have had or felt when this happened? Like what kind of peace of mind that would give someone? The idea that you just talked to your actual literal god? Like no questions of doubt, they are real! That had to be mind blowing.
Mostly because of bad writing, WoD screwed everything with the time-travelling mumbo-jumbo. That's my opinion and feeling. It hurts me inside, every time I level through WoD again and see the stuff. It's all cool, but nonsensical. In mythic Nighthold, Illidan's body becomes the new avatar of Sargeras and he leaves the crystal. That's definitely not what happened, because the crystal is only shattered when the cinematic starts, if we consider the cinematic as canon.
The time travel itself is not the problem imo. There were a lot of time travels even before this expansion. WoD just ended up with rush and lots of things unexplored and not properly explained.
The druid campaign was the replaying of the war of the ancients. That Archimonde is simply the nightmare of Malorne, who was killed by him 10,000 years ago.
I actually enjoyed Legion more than Wrath and I’ve been playing since 1.8. As far as expansions go, Legion has been my second favorite after TBC. What a bounce back from WoD!
I agree for the most part. The beginning of Cata was decent and most of MoP was good. Some people just didn't enjoy seeing Pandas in Warcraft, even though they were already part of the lore.
Saunders Wrath and tbc weren't that good. Yeah they where fun to play. Story progress in tbc quest was horrible, quests where dull though it had fun aesthetics. Kara was easy as balls and had one the most pointles boss fights ever. tempest keep and coilfang reservoir raids where good and fun but BT was a huge dissapoiment and dull compared to TK. Zul'aman.. don't even talk how bad it was after even dissapointing BT. Sunwell was good but as whole. PVP in tbc was only balanced because there where alot of OP specs/builds. Hc dungeons where maybe the best part of tbc but it had alot negatives. Also it wasted alot great lore characters like Zul'jin, Lady vash, Kargath and Teron Gorefiend. Daily quest where fun addition though if they where like that in the current game they would just be burden and not fun. Wrath as a whole was too easy only really hard bosses it had was Yogg+0, Algalon and LK. Lk was for my guild atleast the easiest from those three. Questing was more the same as tbc with only little bit better quest and they where still just dull and grindy. Only good questing parts of wotlk was IC, storm peaks and dragonblight. Also raids where horibbly easier than tbc raids and hc dungeons where a joke. Only real end game daily quest hub was trial of crusader area which came 3.2 if I remeber correctly. Also Arthas was a dullest character of the Scourge. Ner'zhul, Anub'arak and KT where much more interesting and the expasion wasted their characters. Also Dk's could as dps solo hard group quest content easily also I did with 5 dps dk's whole Hall of lightining HC and we didn't even have to careful with our pulls. Also made me sad that wrath ruined onyxia and ruined my good memories from that boss.
Honestly I dont have any questions about Illidans choice to stay behind, whats there to ask? They reworked Illidans story so that he is a being consumed with his war against the Legion, it is all that he is. When standing face to face with the Titan that started it all, of course he binds himself to the fate of Sargeras. Where ever Sargeras is, so will Illidan hunt, and in this final case, he guards over him. A titan is never permanently killable and Illidan has no purpose left on Azeroth.
This expansion made me think a lot about wow. From its start all the way up to this very point. At some times in the past I would always ask myself wether or not the game/story is even my attention. But to see legion unfold I can say without a shadow of doubt I’m really glad I stayed. Friends come and go but that’s life it all boils down to the memories you share with them in the short time you play. Thank you Blizzard for giving us such an awesome expansion and game - From a player who’s been with the game since the beginning.
wow, i stayed up way to late for this. Worth it. but dangit, it's 4AM! Having Nobbel tell me a bedtime story is funny. Subbed + alert on. (Bedankt, iemand die zo fijn kan vertellen!)
Heya Nobbel! Great video, as always. Recently looked at old videos of yours and I came upon the one with the Light's Heart quest line. I didn't realize it before, but isn't strange how we find Illidan's soul or spirit in Helheim? If he did "die" on Outland, why is his spirit there instead of either in the Twisting Nether or in Outland's version of Helheim? And if we did find Illidan's spirit there, why didn't we see Arthas's soul or Neltharion's, both of which who did die on Azeroth? And if Helheim can go across worlds, couldn't then go across realities? Why don't we see our Garrosh's soul who died on alternate Draenor in Helheim? Just a few questions that struck out to me. Thanks as always for the great videos that you make! Cya!
"Oh, Illidan. My search for power must also rival yours. So that maybe after another 10 000 years of imprisonment I can find a way to set you free. For you to see the world you helped to save and to finally find a life without pain and strife." - Slayer Dawnfury Thanks again, Nobbel. It was hard to make sense of anything doing the raid. It's nice to see what the different fights and bosses meant :D
Gr8 vid... as always Mr Nobbel. I would agree that Legion is the best expansion ever if it wasn't for the never ending RNG, it takes away the feeling of effort vs reward and the fun of it for me. Cuz of that i haven't raid as much sens my gearing seems to take a back sit to Miss Fortuna. lucky i have the story line to have fun with and me wife whom i duo crazy stuff with (mostly dying ofc) just for laughs ;)
When Illidan made the ultimate sacrifice... and Sargeras gets pulled back to the seat of the pantheon.. then Illidan flips the switch on the Warglavies.. the amount of honor and sacrifice, even in this fucking video game, made me tear up.
After so many years in this game thinking that no matter what, The legion is still out there , The fact that the legion is now over is kind of... weird in a sense. It's even difficult to process it, The legion is no longer there and Sargeras is defeated, Things that always existed are no longer there. Also, great vid Nobbel i love your stuff
it's my favourite expansion. From the leveling , to the lore, to the content, to the absurd amount of things to do, to the dungeons and the raids (im not too much of a pvp kind of guy). Also the little things about the expansion were great as well. Like the world quests , the class challenges , the music, etc . If there was something that i didn't like about legion that is artifacts. I like the idea of having a really powerful weapon and more if it's a cool looking one But the system becomes a bit annoying by how grindy it is and how unsatisfying it is to get a relic, It doesn't feel the same way as getting a new weapon, The only other thing that i didn't really like in this expansion were rotations , they were fun at the start but they become redundant after 1 minute. In terms of lore this expansion is my favourite, as i said the legion is something that has been there forever, the feeling that the legion is no longer there is something difficult to digest after thinking that they're always there. Also, the pantheon is kind of ungrateful, i know that they're titans and they see themselves above everyone else but aman'thul is like "we need to rest" "go back home you mortals" without saying something like "Thank you for saving us and the entire universe" "Thank you for basically defeating an infinite, unbeaten army" nothing of that. Aman'thul and the pantheon are a bunch of dicks.
I appreciate Nobbel showing the mythic quest only dialogue. I'll never be able to see it because blizz likes to give special things like that to the elites only. Thanks Blizz.
I was surprised you didn't comment on the "final titan" thing Magni said. My mind immediately snapped back to the vision of the Thunder King's heart: "WE HAVE FALLEN. WE MUST REBUILD THE FINAL TITAN. DO NOT FORGET."
Well he is holding his hand to the left of Silithus and we haven't seen the other side of Azeroth yet. Could be the undiscovered continent he might have damaged.
Awesome work getting this out so fast. Can't wait to get into it myself but dang, so many holes and broken pieces to the story. But then that is so much of Legion... Sure hope they get around the clarifying some of this stuff!
As a filthy casual who cannot be arsed to play with a bunch of strangers, thank you very much for these videos. I love getting to see how the story plays out through the whole raid.
90% of the time you can make a ticket after a character change and they change it back for free. most of the time they even let you refund it if you can come up with a good reason
Damn, poor Argus. He just wanted to nap and gets found by a psycho-sadistic titan, who not only tortures him, but uses his blood/essence to fuel his army. And after millenia finally a shimmer of hope is visible in the comming of the troops of Azeroth and he grabs it and trys to help us, by showing us visions. And what do we do? We try to use his last remaining life force to bind Sargeras. Damn, we are heartless.
I’ve played a drinking game all throughout legion, every time Illidan says sacrifice I have a half can of cider. I’m now an alcoholic who needs therapy

My main problem with all of this is: If Sargeras can become a cloud and move in space, then stab planets why did Sargeras even bothered with opening portal with Well of Eternity 10000 years ago?
My explanation is: He was busy questing and just finished Universal Pathfinder achievement so he can now use his cloud mount to fly between planets. I hope this explanation is enough for us all lore followers. Enjoy...
True
He wanted to join his buddies Parallax and Galactus. Traveling as a big cloud is easier and makes for a great villain.
Jokes aside, he was too fat to be summoned using warlock ritual of summoning so his raid team told him to run his ass to the raid or be kicked
Illidan used legion tech to tear sky and open portal between Azeroth and Argus. Might new legion tech. But as soon as Sargeras have access Sargerite Stone or whatever its name he could tear that rift himself, use his favourite mount and do whatever he wants to Azeroth.

Illidan : "Who could imagine of such sacrifice ? "
I am not sure if his reply was sarcasm or not, but it sure felt like this. :P
By the way, thank you Nobbel ! Once more you told us a great story about the game !
Knowing Illidan, it probably was.
Malfurion's accomplishments in Legion: Gets captured
Illidians contributions in Legion: Saved entire planet countless times.
The balls on this man for still throwing shade at Illidan for all he's done, time and again. Tyrande too
Malfurion sort of also held back the corruption of the Nightmare so it didn't spread, along with healing the corrupted Cenarius.
And if people would just try and see things in a broader perspective, they might understand why Malfurion and Tyrande have that hard time forgiving him.
Just try imagine yourself you had your whole family slain by a man, but he had to do so to save his the country he loved. Is that something you would forgive?
Go read some Lore on Illidan prior to this expansion, you may have empathy for Tyrande and Malfurion.
Mm. Nah. Malfurion still feels a bit like every accusation of "green jesus" Thrall got back in the day ramped up further, while Tyrande has devolved into a bitchy petty elitist jerk.
Not to mention I've never really seen what the hell Cenarius saw in Malfurion over Illidan in the first place.
Humility? Furion's got the biggest goddamn ego this side of Kael'thas. "He IS nature, he IS balance. And his judgement is final."
Wisdom? Fails to comprehend that without Illidan doing what needed to be done they were literally all going to die. If MF had better ideas, he sure as hell never shared them.
Compassion? After literally everyone points out straight up that Illidan has been doing nothing but help (both in WC3 and Legion) he STILL can't mend bridges with Illidan. Also never has it occur to him that MAYBE rubbing in his brother's face he's sleeping with Tyrande isn't the smartest or noblest call.

Nice video. Thanks for pointing out the missing plot. I felt myself alone thinking about these obvious missing pieces of the story.
yeah it's not just a plot hole, but a whole bunch of them. hope blizzard publishes like a novel or whatever to close them

1000 degree knife vs the planet
haha
Illidan: I'll stay back and make sure Sargeras never attempts to destroy Azeroth again
Horde and Alliance: You know now that Sargeras is gone we could really go for a couple of rounds against each other, i'm sure this wouldn't empower the Old Gods.
Illidan: You still doing that possession thing Sargeras? I think i understand your point now
Sargeras: Wow it's as if i was trying to do something good, but everybody viewed me as a bad guy because i used a selfish method for a greater cause

18:44, GJ Nobbel, you are surely guarding that side of the raid in case some nasties set up a surprise attack from there!
Nobbel had a great time with legion and we had a great time with him (thank you for all the work and the great content). All hail to the lore walker Nobbel ^^
Favarion Tegriss Love that you called him Lore Walker. I never thought about it before but the title fits perfectly. Lore Walker Nobbel. Awesome.
When you just want to see the shivarra... 18:28
gotta love the moment when Nobbel falls
Me too I thought I was the only one lol
The fuckin dudes in raid chat "BIS sky in this fight." "T H I C C"
One thing you might not know Nobbel, Varimathras has more dialogue if you kill The Coven of Shivarra before him. And that dialogue seems to be intended for BfA !
can you explain it
Was wondering where that dialogue was and those I asked didn't hear it, so wasn't sure it made it in. Thanks for the heads up!
Guess we'll never know what that dialogue is
*Spoilers*
Alliance - So your Alliance still endures. Longer than I expected, though she has already planted the seeds of its downfall. She is patient, that one
When your thrones run red with betrayal... when your holy places burn and the shattered mask hangs above your hearth... only then you will know.
Mickey Wallace
Jaina and Sylvanass huh
Compared to WoD Legion is just a fucking masterpiece. Haven't had this much fun since Wrath.
I was just watched the cinematic and was like "Man I wish Nobbel or someone would explain to me what just happened since I just skipped through alot of the story and don't raid anymore" Thanks Nobbel, I didn't think the Burning Legion would be ended just like that, seems like it happened so fast
I do love that they mirrored the old picture of Sargaras for his final moments.
wow.gamepedia.com/File:Sargeras.JPG
It may have been from the old RPG sourcebooks...
Very happy they did not make him felfire green.
krim7 The Green Sargeras was probably just one of his Avatar. He likely also had a Purple form to go with the Void/Shadow shit as well. I mean, he is basically Satan, and he does want to stop the Void Lords and shit.
Man Illidan is a hell of a charter and that quest where you take the stone to Malfurion and Tyrande is SO heart breaking. He truly love her so much.
"I cant wait for battle for azeroth to drop and see what it has in store"
I come from the future to say "Oof."
was awesome to raid with you nobbler, even if it was just normal mode.
Dantoki He was good, JUST not thinking it the right mind
tl;dr Sargeras wanted to make Azeroth his sugar baby
Eonar's world is named "Elunaria".
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Krupam you think she created elune?
From what we heard of Elune so far, I'm thinking it could actually be the other way around.
Krupam maybe, or maybe she’s like a titan keeper made from a piece of Azeroth(moon was from the earth or another planet that crashed into it).
I think they're the same entity
*HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM* indeed
Upvote if you liked the video because Nobbel gave Tyrande a rude gesture as she spoke.
Gravity seemed to be your hardest opponent in this one :P
i honestly got a little choked up over Illidan's goodbyes.
After questing in Silithus back in the day I would want to stab it with a giant sword too. XD
we did not really see Sargeras in the game, we just saw his avatar or sargeras through a cinematic :D
story is mess though and still has holes in it, whole Sargeras humping the world was never explained, if he was there why didn't he just destroy us already? Legion is for sure better WoD was a mess so many things were cut out, still its messy in story
ReZhorw yeah i was kind of on the fence like if they show them out ruins the mystique, which it kinda does, and i never wanted to see sargeras bc i thought he'd look corny, but it wasn't bad. Sargeras i was hoping would look more like that one art picture that floats around where he's green and really demonic looking but he looked alright
Thank you for the bedtime story :)
I'm loving these montages for the Illidan speeches. Almost brings a tear to my eye.
31:20 BROXIGAR HIT THAT!? OH FUCK THATS BADASS!
Thanks Nobbel! I came back to WoW after you rekindled my interest with your interesting story videos. :)
I could listen to Nobbel read a dictionary or a phonebook. You have such a fantastic storytelling voice.
Taylor Balerud only if the beginning would start, "Hello everyonnnne." And end with "see ya!" 😊😊😁
That voice is soothing and sexy ❤
What I want to know is, what is going to happen to the rest of the demons? There were, after all, supposed to be millions of them. Will someone take command of them? Will they devolve into utter chaos, each doing their own thing? I'm reminded sharply of why "there must always be a Lich King" and want to know how this will play out.
lol imagine some of the demons become "allied races" in future expansions kind of how the forsaken came from the scourge… that would be completely ridiculous but I still need to play a manari so plz blizz make this happen thanks
Most like the Legion will fracture into hundreds of smaller factions, each lead by a petty warlord who seeks to re-unite the Legion that was.
Wise words from Malfurion rings true
”Hush Tyrande”
Saw countless thumbnails of YT videos showing the end cinematic, was over hyped but didn't look, and forced myself to wait to this specific video that I knew would come one day, to have the full story from A to Z, with all the details in-between. Thanks a lot for putting it out that quick!
What a wasted potential with those teleports to other "worlds" :F
Looks to me like they planned to teleport us to those planets but didn't finish it in time. Even the voice lines of the boss make it seem like the portal will send us on a different planet. It's really weird and kind of disappointing, even though the fight is decent.
From what I would guess, I'd say it didn't work out because of performance issues. The Inquisition in Tomb of Sargeras uses similar mechanics and it is one of the worst FPS killers.
really? I didn't have any problems with inquisition. And what about the dragons of nightmare? did they cause you issues too?
Neurotyczny Kot
We got Balthazar, but not Tichondrius? Lame
+FUmarc
You mean Balnazzar? He was killed in an order campaign. Tichondrius was killed in the Nighthold.
Revisiting the Legion story, I concur it is one of the best in the Wow games. Thank you for these amazing videos @Nobbel!
Side note: I loved how before the credits rolled you pointed out all the remaining questions you had about Legion lore lol.
Why cant people just accept that the titans can choose their own sizes
André Anuatti lmao that's just how i thought of it as well
Because it makes no sense that a titan would just let himself be killed by us while that titan could have just transformed to planet sized and stomp us out of existence
it looks like when they walk through space their size dramatically changes, idk maybe the pantheon they just let their egos go and turn back to their normal sizes.
Are you insane, illidan combat sargeras? Come on , do you believe illidan can do something to him at all
Dude the amount of time and effort you go into these video is astounding, as you go into complete detail and makes sure that none of the story is left out
"We're gaining ground! Press the attack!" One slam later... "Fall back!" On Turyelon.. ;p
God damn this was beautiful, and your frustration with the left over stuff was funny as hell!
WowJedi yep
N'zoth is nowhere near silithus.
He prob just stabbed randomly to kinda grab hold or like stated in a fit of rage.
HE REALLY HATES QUESting in silithus
Psyclone
9000 exp
all the lore in this expansion was dope
So glad this video exists. i got so burnt out trying to just get to this point on my toons. With all the time gates and grinds I was just so...so done lol I'm happy to see how the story ended without me actually having to fight my way through Antorus myself through LFR and what not. Thanks again, Nobbel!
Where is maiev?? Tell me she is pregnant!!!
Just wanted to say the same xD well done
Illidan's bastard, quarter demon, child
Maiev is all alone out there. Without her purpose. My poor waifu :(
WowJedi You're a DH aren't you. You're going back in the green crystal first chance she gets.
nah guys she having illidane baby demon child elf demon jailer XD
My game never proc'd the cinematic of Illidan becoming the jailer, so I was REALLY confused until seeing this video. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Where were the Horde leaders during all of this?
Sylvanas thought it would be awkward to mingle with her sisters, so she ordered the horde to stay behind.
burning trees, attackin capitals, backstabbing shit u know.
Same place as the alliance leaders. 5 out of 6 aren't there.
The whole story was that the Horde and the Alliance failed. That is why the class order halls rose up - to do what the Horde and Alliance could not do - save the world.
What is the Horde never heard of them, who are they?
omg, thank you for this. your sentiment with how things remain unresolved echo my own. You are one of, if not my favorite, youtube content creators.
Regarding "avatars" and all that. Seems to me they can dynamically adjust their size. The friggin seat of the pantheon has those size chairs so clearly they're used to fit in them when necessary and not only when they're weak.
Thank you man, this is one of your best videos so far. Good job!
22:22 Thats one way to deal with corrupted titan...
Wow! So much content in such a short time! Thank you, Lorewalker Nobbel
I really liked how Turalyon NOped the f out once the first boss oneshotted his group xD
Can you imagine what kind of deep spiritual moment the heroes must have had or felt when this happened? Like what kind of peace of mind that would give someone? The idea that you just talked to your actual literal god? Like no questions of doubt, they are real! That had to be mind blowing.
I think the mythic versions of fights are oddly the most canon. I mean, if mythic archimonde wasn't canon, why didn't he appear in Legion?
He appeaared at the second battle for mount hyjal at the druid clashall quest or what was that ?
The druid campaign was the replaying of the war of the ancients. That Archimonde is simply the nightmare of Malorne, who was killed by him 10,000 years ago.
I'm not playing Wow any longer, but ty to you I can still follow the main storyline, so thanks Nobbel for your Lore explanations, I really enjoy them.
thanks nobbel, you're my fucking hero. i've been waiting for this
Oh man they are running the dungeon with a guy from Ragnaros! May the light protect them from incompetence.
Awesome video as always Nobbel!
Legion is the best expansion
TBC and Wrath were better. MoP was decent as well
I actually enjoyed Legion more than Wrath and I’ve been playing since 1.8. As far as expansions go, Legion has been my second favorite after TBC. What a bounce back from WoD!
TBC And Legion are both the Best, Wrath's a close second. Cata was shit, as well as WoD. MoP was just a joke.
It is good to have affirmation about feeling like there are missing details! GRAHH
And then they (Illidan and the Pantheon) went to the Nexus and kept on killing each other for eternity.
wow, i stayed up way to late for this. Worth it. but dangit, it's 4AM!
For you to see the world you helped to save and to finally find a life without pain and strife." - Slayer Dawnfury
Thanks again, Nobbel. It was hard to make sense of anything doing the raid. It's nice to see what the different fights and bosses meant :D
Awesome video bro!!
Thank you!! Been waiting all week!
Gr8 vid... as always Mr Nobbel.
Big shout-out to Jeeves for his cameo role.
45:54 hahahahaha that's amazing. I didn't see that when I put down the crystal! Illidan and Malfurion... _with Tyrande in between them._
TBC and Legion are really the best expansions ^^
32:05 i find illidan's quote"At last" a bit suspicious
I appreciate Nobbel showing the mythic quest only dialogue. I'll never be able to see it because blizz likes to give special things like that to the elites only. Thanks Blizz.
"It was a good life" XD
I was surprised you didn't comment on the "final titan" thing Magni said. My mind immediately snapped back to the vision of the Thunder King's heart:
"WE HAVE FALLEN. WE MUST REBUILD THE FINAL TITAN. DO NOT FORGET."
Am i the only one who wonder where sargeras had his hand when he stabbed azeroth? I mean that must leave some Damage right?
Well he is holding his hand to the left of Silithus and we haven't seen the other side of Azeroth yet. Could be the undiscovered continent he might have damaged.
Why didn't he just bear hug Azeroth and crush the planet.
As much as I love the lore of Arthas, Illidan has to be one of the most fleshed out character of Warcraft ever.
Ugh... Maiev should have totally stayed with Illidan in Space God Jail.. such wasted potential.
Awesome work getting this out so fast. Can't wait to get into it myself but dang, so many holes and broken pieces to the story. But then that is so much of Legion... Sure hope they get around the clarifying some of this stuff!
Aggramar's blade is the leader of Ireland?
lmfaoooo
As a filthy casual who cannot be arsed to play with a bunch of strangers, thank you very much for these videos. I love getting to see how the story plays out through the whole raid.
39:15 Nobbel the Nibbler
Thank you :) that helped clear up the cinematics that left me asking more questions lol
Does Nobbel just have a Tauren Paladin, or is their some like, Magic vodoo shit going on here, since he is usually a Human Pally
You do realize faction transfer is a thing, right....? He wanted to raid with Preach, but he plays Horde...
SpinoJames he had human AND belf, idk what this Tauren is!
90% of the time you can make a ticket after a character change and they change it back for free. most of the time they even let you refund it if you can come up with a good reason
Is it that hard to believe that he has an alt?
It has the same name as his main .3.
Is it me or why he doesnt bonus rolls bosses that dont give out tier/trinkets? *TRIGGERED*
wow, this was awesome. well done!
lol they pulled a Lich King on Argus
"We must save the world. Let's start a war with the other fraction!"
