- Patch 7.1 has us go back into Karazhan, a favorite of many. The Legion is trying to use the power of the tower to bring destruction and ruin to the world of Azeroth. It's up to us to stop them while the tower itself is not making it easy to reach the top. But what's the history of this place? How did it come to be and what might the future hold? That's what we're going to talk about today so I hope you'll enjoy!

Hah it took me and my group 3 hours to kill that lasthole
Me and my gf did pretty fast, but was cause 3 russians carried us. With out the I do belive we would have not finish it...
It took my group 8 hours in total to beat the dungeon, last boss alone a bit more than 2 hours. When NONE of you did the dungeon before, it's a real clown fiesta
5 hours 30 wipes,soloed 4% of health as warri tank
Nobble party was wiped and nobble soloed the final boss in the video lol
nice little touch is how at the end, medivh calls khadgar young trust, like in the last guardian novel
and of course medivhs theme that also played at the end of wc3. I had such a nerdgasm when I first completed it
For the ones who know...Medivh and Raziel have the same voice actor...and its AWESOME!
didnt find that out till i watched Soul Reaver in 2013 on RUclips, he does such an outstanding Job as Raziel, im glad he deiced to do Medivah again for Legion

this was a nice story. karazhan feels wrapped up now. in a good way ;) medivh made it complete. now the tomb awaits and after that the endgame on Argus itself.
I'm more into pvp but I love the lore and respect dungeons and raids, the upside down part of kharazan and other bits like plays and Ghostbusters are pure creative brilliance. Just very magical to flip it upside down and incorporate it all. Mice and giant mana worms. Just such Harry Potter meets wow magnificence
It's great to know that Medivh is alright, and he's got a update on his design as well.

Hey you remember a while back I said that hearthstone was predicting the future of warcraft? they predicted the return of karazan, even some of the new characters and mechanics within the dungeon, new characters, the deaths of others, and even that Anduin would become a paladin. Granted some of this stuff was obviously going to happen a lot of it wasn't apparent. The Hearthstone guys are always hanging out with the WoW guys, ideas get cross pollinated between the two games. Some of the stuff we see in hearthstone is stuff that we will eventually see in game.
With the announcement that 6.3 is going to be us going to argus i can now say with 110% certainty that the next expansion will be about the old god's. with about 75% certainty I can say that the Old God's will be unleashed by the meddling of the Infinite Dragon Flight which will Rerwite history, and during the expansion we will be partnering with Ragnaros the light lord (Tired of being controlled by the old God's he turned to the light to break free). fight deathwing head on and release the few remaining dragons that were enslaved by him and the Old god's.
yeah I would love to see an expansion where the entire world isn't at stake and its just us dealing with Azeroth stuff. I'm not 100% that this one was born from talks of a future wow expansion or not but this could maybe show up as a patch. People have talked about wanting a goblin casino for a long time and maybe this is how we get it.

1:46 I really like looking at old maps like that and comparing it to what we have today. For example Grand Hamlet (Darkshire) is about the same spot as it is now related to Moonbrook and Goldshire, but Swamp of Sorrows and Black Morass were flipped later on.

Given everything we know now, I have to wonder if the "master" Moroes keeps mentioning in the cinematic is really Medivh... or if he's actually talking about Sargeras.

He is most likely alive. After Warcraft 3 (Archimondes death at Mount Hyjal) he just says, he'll take his place with the guardians of the past or something like that.
It isn't mentioned whether he is alive or dead or whatever, just that he feels that the races of Azeroth can defend themself now.
well his fate was left sort of ambiguous at the end of the RTS. he could have sealed himself within kara fearing a full legion assault on the tower to use it as a weapon to take azeroth.
We knew Medivh was alive since warcraft 3. I think he went to Agewwyn to revive him so that he could fix his wrong doings

I gues people don't read books. He was dead when lothar chopped his head of, after that pre wc3 medivh appeared at balcony and spoke to khadgar then he flew away and events of wc3 kept going where we saw him resurrected. since then he wasn't seen, but I am not sure that its him. look his first words in 7,1 were I left so many fragments of my self in kara, probably its one of his fragments, but not him personaly, but stil, he should be alive.

I always thought the last boss was just talking about Karazhan itself. Like, if they take over this one last thing, they'll have access to every other world or something
Warcraft movie is it's own universe, it doesn't affect the game. They made this clear many times.
Medivh has always been my favorite lore character, really hope that he will re-re-return.
The ending to this made my feeling come back from the Kadgar trailer before legion came out to see mediev again talking with Kahdgar it made me feel sad and happy at the same time but this this was more because this time it was actually him and they had their chat and those few lines of text were enough to get that same feeling back blizzard sure knows how to make people love their characters and reignite that love for them

as i have said in the past Khadgar already has the powers of the guardian there called the players, as for medivh well i like to think that he has been helping the players all this time, maybe he doesn't have the power to aid us in combat anymore when he is away from Karazhan he can probaly still shapeshift so he could have been any number of people that have helped over the years.

used to just be a middle-level conjurer from Stormwind Aegwyn seduced for her own use - to sire a child on her.
Now he's "the most unrelenting of the Tirisgarde who grew a relationship with Aegwyn through fierce battles."
I can see why they do it... but at the same time it feels a bit cheep to keep on upgrading every incidental person in the lore to "strongest/greatest/epic-ist person evar!"
Its weird because it seems like they did that to promote the mage order as this epic order that Aran once led.

They confirmed at blizzcon we're going to Argus and that was what Medivh was referring to.
I always thought that Med'an only got those powers temporarily to fight Cho'gall and C'thun, and then gave those powers back afterwards. This fixes all the annoying parts related to his story, especially the whole "Azeroth doesn't need a Guardian" message Khadgar and Medivh keep pushing. But, I've never actually read the comic, so maybe I just misunderstood.

that last boss was a mess, after.. like 6 wipes, my team beat him with a perfect score, I (tank) didn't drop below 80%, everything that could be was interrupted, and then we killed the guy without losing a person. Like.. we kept on losing people in the first phase, I constantly balanced around 20%... and then that finish.
Ah midnight, the mount i got the first time i ran Karazhan, and the first day of Return to Karazhans release. Easy to say my guildies hate me, but I would have prefered gear over the mounts back then.
