Just got this phone unlocked from Best Buy for $250. 16 year old son wanted a 3.5mm headphone jack and stylus, he is coming off a Note 9. He has had to replace the display on his Note 9 twice since having it and that was $250 to replace each time. Wanted something budget but meet his expectations, this phone has done that and he is very happy with it. I just bought mine, it’ll be here tomorrow! I loved the original moto g stylus (2021 it was literally the only smartphone I ever owned that I actually liked. And I’ve owned two iPhones) So I hope this one is just as good!
was looking around for an inexpensive work phone (im a phone salesman yet idk as much abt non apple phones) and when i sold this to a customer it sold me. my totals $306 and for that...this is ten times better than what i was expecting. its a nice large phone, comparable to my 14 pro max. its plenty fast which was always my main concern buying an under $400 phone so this is spectacular
I just got one on cricket for free (deal good until June 9th 2025) you just had to switch carriers. I always switch carriers usually about every 2 years and get a new phone from Metro to cricket to boost.
Hey man great review. What can you recommend me if i need everything that this phone does but with better sound? You mentioned the sound on this one is not good. And one's of my main reasons to exchange my g stylus 2020 is better sound. Thank you!
I have the blue stylus 2020 rn and I just ordered the 2024 5G one, better sound but not by a lot but it does have Dolby. My stylus sound is mid at most but if you really need to have crazy sound then by a Bluetooth speaker or shell out more for a high end phone
@Brian-bq8tj hey there thanks for your reply!! If you say the sound is a bit better than the 2020 then i should just buy the 2024 because apparently checks all the boxes for me. Thanks again
@@marioga873 did you end up getting it? I wanna see what you think, it's been 4 days for me and I love the phone so far. Id say it was a major upgrade from the 2020
I bought one and while it doesn't function quite the same as previous G series phones, it's certainly pretty and faster than the phone I was replacing and Motorola has wonderful friendly customer service. However, I've had my phone less than 60 days and the screen is already broken. I've never broken a screen before and Ive been a loyal customer of theirs for several years. All my old moto phones are still in tact. I would have gladly bought a kit to replace the screen myself, but I can only find the moto 5g 2024 stylus replacement screens for xt2147 not for xt2149-1 . If I had known that, I wouldn't have purchased this model . That said, I love the dimensions. I'm assuming therein lies the trouble with replacement screen for it but I'm uncertain. Motorola says they'll replace it for 99 dollars. I paid nearly 300 for this phone. I don't want to spent 1/2 to 1/3 of what I paid for the phone I just bought less than a couple months ago. It's been a really long battle. And a huge disappointment.
Go back 5 to 10 years ago and this would be a "flag ship" phone. And around $200.00 is amazing. I mean I love Samsung top line phones, when I was younger. I had the time to play with a complex phone, expensive too. That's why I like Motorola and since they have started covering updates for 3 years! It is a very sweet deal. In three years there might be something else. Life = change. 🤔❤️
Have you noticed an issue with the headphone jack producing a very prominent static noise when playing low-level audio? I don't have this issue on any other device and it suck s to have it on my new phone.
Does the Moto G Stylus 5g 2024 have active photo?? I haven't found it in the settings, I will be forced to return the phone if it doesn't as I have a toddler who doesn't sit still for photos and without it all the photos come out terrible.
I strongly considered this phone. I'm a long time Moto user since 2018. I've had 3 different Moto G's but I really hate that after 1 O/S and a couple years of security patches that Motorola cuts you lose. They're basically saying it's time to buy a new one! I hate that mentality so I went with a Galaxy A35 5G that with some discount offers from Samsung and cash back offer was $250 and after they gave me 50 bucks trade-in for my old Moto G it was only $200. That's cheaper than the Moto G Stylus sale price of $250. Samsung gives 4 O/S and 5 yrs of updates plus it's IP67 waterproof. I don't do carrier deals because they're actually a rip off when you factor in the monthly service cost vs my Mint Mobile service that's super cheap.
I personally recommend buying the $250-$400 / 256GB unlocked version. The 128 GB variant that you see available "for free" are carrier locked, filled with bloatware, and underperforms compared to the unlocked version.
I just bought this phone today. I got it for $217 with case, screen protector and turbo charge. Im very happy so far. I'm having a problem getting my Bluetooth to it.
I got this phone a couple days ago and I'm really surprised on how this phone came out you for sure get ALOT more phone for its priced got a 258 gb out of the box and added another 258 gb i call this phone a win
Your video really made me want to get one, and I did. I got my Moto G Stylus 5G (2024) last week. I bought it off of the manufacturer here in Canada (Motorola.ca) however I have run into an issue with it. When I put the phone in my pocket and walk with it outside of my house, the volume goes down on it's own. It's super frustrating because I can't listen to any music with my earbuds on because the volume WILL go down. The main reason I bought this phone was because it had the audio jack. I've come to the point of going back to my old phone that I was using before buying this device. At the first I thought it was the screen, but even with screen protector on....the volume still goes down. I would appreciate your insight into this.
Don't forget about return policies. 30 days in most places. There's really only 2 ways this would happen. 1: The volume button. Pressing against your legs. Maybe it's more sensitive than others, maybe defective, maybe not. 2: Screen turning on. With a screen lock that wouldn't be an issue. But maybe it's turning on and changing volume. I guess earbuds can also have an issue and change volume. You can try to return or exchange. That's all I would say. Never had that issue
I'm not sure honestly. It may be ram related on your old moto. If you're in Google Chrome it should leave at least your most recent websites open and ready to use, UNTIL you open up a few extra apps. Eventually it will have to reload the website. That's a ram thing because it can only do so many things at the same time. But this has better RAM then a lot of other older budget moto phones. Older moto g stylus phones only had like 4gb of ram
I just bought one of these. Just a question I can't find an answer for. Does this thing come with the 'screen cast' (to a TV) option come already installed it it? Or will she have to download some kind of app for it🤔 thanks for any info
All Android phones can cast to a tv but it depends on what tv it is. It can work with any Google tv or device that has Chromecast. But some tvs may need an app depending on the software they use. But most likely it will work with casting as long as you're on the same Wi-Fi
I got the edge on 12/23 on Metro and metro sucks so two weeks like I ordered the G Stylus 2024 from cricket and I am very excited. I hate the curved screen on the edge

I just got my Moto g stylus yesterday as an upgrade through Cricket. I had the Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra and the s22 ultra was getting glitchy, slow, and would open and close apps repeatedly when teying to use it. Plus it kept saying that every app i wanted to use was crashing. Now to the Moto. I play CODM, BloodStrike and several other games. This phone does play games quite well. Its not like having a RedMagic, Asus ROG, etc. But it does allow you to game, the display actually looks better to me than my s22 ultra for some reason. It is really snappy when switching apps, loading the web apps, Facebook, tiktok, etc. Would I pay $400 for this phone? Probably not but if you can get this device for $175 or under, I would definitely snatch it up as its definitely worth that. Its worth that if youre just needing a backup phone in a drawer or something. I like it, and it will work until my RedMagic 10 pro is delivered.
If anyone loves emulation. You can do that with gc PS2 psp and lower most PS2 playable even if you go in the settings and underperformance then the highest is 8gn extra ram
The Motorola G stylus and Motorola G power the stylus has an OLED screen so power should have been OLED the screen too considering Motorola G power and Motorola G stylus are their top line of mid-range phone
Friend had a previous Gen model and the mic was inconsistent and often cut out, the battery was awful and charged poorly, alongside a few other really basic standard things fell apart in time. I can't excuse this like at all still, previous model was that bad.
@@HyonkTeaHis complaints also apply to other brands as no one is perfect. I love my Poco X6 Pro but there's no denying some users have issues with their units. But painting all of them as bad just because of a few isolated cases is a bit over the top.

When I asked for a suggestion from Microsoft co-pilot AI app for a phone and I gave it all of my criteria, even without the stylus only two phones came up, the Samsung a35 and the Moto g stylus 2024. My criteria that I need is a screen at least 6.6 in, must be full HD OLED, must have at least 5000 mah battery, must have at least 30 watt wired charging, must have at least 90 and preferably 120 refresh, must have both an SD card slot and headphone jack. It only gave me two phone options and of course I've always loved the stylus phone so that's what made the decision between those two
Have one, don't like it. It's actually slow, and if you receive pics from someone that has an iPhone or Samsung the pics come out grainy blurry and deformed. Not a good phone in my opinion regardless how cheap you get it

I just bought mine, it’ll be here tomorrow! I loved the original moto g stylus (2021 it was literally the only smartphone I ever owned that I actually liked. And I’ve owned two iPhones) So I hope this one is just as good!
Is it dual sim with 2 physical sims and sd card as well?
@ I don’t know But I’ve heard that it has an esim but you can put a physical sim in it as well. (Which is what I’m planning to do.)
Me too! I got the red one.
Gotta love those minimalist bezels compared to everyone else in this price bracket.
was looking around for an inexpensive work phone (im a phone salesman yet idk as much abt non apple phones) and when i sold this to a customer it sold me. my totals $306 and for that...this is ten times better than what i was expecting. its a nice large phone, comparable to my 14 pro max. its plenty fast which was always my main concern buying an under $400 phone so this is spectacular
Nice review! Does this model feature an FM radio? Other Moto phones have in the past.
Yes it has a FM radio app.
Yes it does
Good review thank you, Liked and subbed
On cricket wireless they have this phone for $130 plus the $25 upgrade fee and that comes out to be only $155
I just got one on cricket for free (deal good until June 9th 2025) you just had to switch carriers. I always switch carriers usually about every 2 years and get a new phone from Metro to cricket to boost.
What a beautiful phone. 😊
For sure! I enjoy it
@androiddigest I love your channel you absolutely nailed it on the Galaxy A35 being a little bit slower. I love your reviews keep up the good work.
I’m definitely going to get one this weekend. Thank you for the review
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it!
Even unlocked for international work phone use might be a cool suggestion. The 1TB SD card is the best choice even making great RUclips movie videos.
Id say it was a major upgrade from the 2020
If you don't mind a curved screen maybe the Moto Edge 2024. No stylus. But it's good. Otherwise, hope you can find what's right for you
I bought one and while it doesn't function quite the same as previous G series phones, it's certainly pretty and faster than the phone I was replacing and Motorola has wonderful friendly customer service.
Samsung should really considering doing midrange stylus phones
Thank you for this review! I’m looking to switch from my iPhone. I’m looking forward to potentially buying this soon! How’s the cell service for you??
It was great. Never really had any issues
I'm still using a 2021, I just bought this for $240. I'm tired of my worn out charging port. Picked up the A35 for the ole lady...
I just bought this phone today. I got it for $217 with case, screen protector and turbo charge. Im very happy so far. I'm having a problem getting my Bluetooth to it.
It's a great buy! Hopefully you can figure out the Bluetooth things
Where did you get that deal
Where did you get the deal
Bought mine for $40 out the door boost mobile aint look back since shit is a beast even for gaming solid overall phone
Motorola should launch stylus series with edge series as flagship phone
Hello, is the 2024 Moto G Stylus better device than the 2024 Moto Edge? Thanks for the review! 👍🙏🙂
For some people. It's basically a very very small step down, but it has a flat screen and a stylus, in a way that makes them even
I got this phone a couple days ago and I'm really surprised on how this phone came out you for sure get ALOT more phone for its priced got a 258 gb out of the box and added another 258 gb i call this phone a win
I'm with you. It's pretty great
This is an AMAZING mid range everyday phone for anyone, and an even more amazing secondary phone for anyone else.
Why moto doesn't launch it in India?
With only one software update is it worth getting?
It'll get more. My 2022 still gets updates.
Android versions don’t matter that much anymore
So this or edge or a54? I'm looking to switch to total by Verizon.
I have moto edge plus for over a year microphone stops working would this be a good option
Never had that issue
i have a moto g stylus (2021) i was thinking of buying this phone, should I? or should I wait for the upcoming 2025 model
My older moto doesnt save chromes pages when i minimize chrome. Is this phone like that?
Screencast require purchase of chromecast dongle, unlike samsung that you can share screen to tv without the dongle.
Why is it priced like that (400)? The older one can be had for a little over $100 used.
I got the edge on 12/23 on Metro and metro sucks so two weeks like I ordered the G Stylus 2024 from cricket and I am very excited. I hate the curved screen on the edge
Thinking about replacing my replacement phone the Galaxy A54 5G with either the Galaxy A16 5G when it comes to the US or the Motorola G Power 5G 2024 or the Motorola G 5G 2024 or the Motorola G Stylus 5G 2024 or Motorola G Play 2024, which should i get
Bro, the a16 is freaking junk junk junk 😂
@katinasoutherland7693 if that's the case should I either get the Motorola G Power 5G 2024 or Motorola G Stylus 5G 2024 or Motorola G 5G 2024 or Motorola G Play 2024.
What you are think about doing is getting the same phone again... Don't do it, lol
@@PhillipLemmon I'm to be honest thinking about getting a Motorola phone, as i have had a bunch of Samsung phones, and have only owned one motorola and it was the motorola g7 supra/power.
@@preston8872 Moto g Stylus 2024 is the best option
This is a great little phone. Has so many feAtures. Battery life is great. It's really a packed feature phone. Fast with bright screen. Sounds quality is good although you do have to change sound settings to more bass. Price can't beat
Definitely is a great phone!
I had the Samsung A35 5g I actually like the stylus 2024 ❤
boost is offering me an upgrade, and this phone is 39.99! I'm definitely gonna snatch it up.
A great deal for that price
Its either this one or the razr 2024, Idk which one to get
Razr 2024 is a little better, BUT it's also more expensive, depends on your budget. And if you want a stylus or a flip phone.
@AndroidDigest razr is 99, stylus is 40. I want the razr, but worried about the screen
The Motorola G stylus and Motorola G power the stylus has an OLED screen so power should have been OLED the screen too considering Motorola G power and Motorola G stylus are their top line of mid-range phone
Underrated brand and channel
Thanks so much. If you check my last couple of videos I'm stepping up my quality now! Expect the same brand and content just better!
Friend had a previous Gen model and the mic was inconsistent and often cut out, the battery was awful and charged poorly, alongside a few other really basic standard things fell apart in time. I can't excuse this like at all still, previous model was that bad.
*previous gen model*
so they had an older version and the newest model gets the flac for it? this phone has basically been flawless for me
@@HyonkTeaHis complaints also apply to other brands as no one is perfect. I love my Poco X6 Pro but there's no denying some users have issues with their units.
But painting all of them as bad just because of a few isolated cases is a bit over the top.
I have this phone and i have a blutooth speacker and it sounds awesome
Best Buy and Target have it for $250
Love moto g they are so affordable ❤
Best "workhorse" Phone of Any android phones out there.
Except it's not an "Android phone" it's a Motorola phone.
Which runs android 🤣
I'm hoping this drops under 200 for black Friday

Someone please respond to my question ❓ iphone 11 or Motorola Stylus 2024?????? Really 🥺 can someone help please with this question
iPhone 11 has no 5G. That's a deal breaker for me. Tougher question if you go up to the 12. But that just depends on operating system preference to me
IS THIS PHONE WORTH BUYING
Yes, but the review says it all
Ok you keep talking about the a35 like it's a great phone..... It's the same damn phone and the A54!
At first I didn't want this phone Cuz it's stock android.... Wanted to go back to the Samsung ecosystem.... But now I'm realizing I won't be able to... So this is really my only f'kn option.....
This phone is way better than the 21'moto power in rocking now, lol
Cricket Wireless has it for $99
Great deal!
Got mine for free, plus the $60 plan.
It only gave me two phone options and of course I've always loved the stylus phone so that's what made the decision between those two
HAD THE PHONE 3 DAYS, SO FAR I HATE IT.
any particular reasons?
@@uptownsamcv got my issues resolved. on the way to adjusting to it. I had a Samsung and the motorola is different.
Bearded man is the best
At 400 bucks a hard no because of only 1 os update...
I agree. But it's $250 right now unlocked at Amazon
Amazon often has it for $249 - that's when I got mine
@@notjamesb250 is a good price
It should get more. My 2022 G Stylus gets numerous updates per year.
Moto is being realistic instead of offering 7 years OS updates knowing their phone won't hold up that long.
The A15 and the A55 and the A35 are better than this moto stylus 2024
MotoG is the best
I wouldn't say it's better than Samsung when it turns of software support Motorola is lacking at that department
Won't be seeing this getting android 16😂
Their software track record isn't great
Have one, don't like it. It's actually slow, and if you receive pics from someone that has an iPhone or Samsung the pics come out grainy blurry and deformed. Not a good phone in my opinion regardless how cheap you get it
First
the Stylus is a gimmick - haven't seen a stylus on ANYTHING in 10-15yrs., Completely unnecessary. Good screen/resolution/motion stability. Relatively fast, inexpensive (Cricket), and 5G bonus! Among other nice touches. BEST part is that it is NOT Samsung or Apple!!! Long live MOTO!!!
I gotta disagree, I use the stylus every day, it's far from a gimmick. I think you'd be very surprised.
Yeah not everyone will use the stylus. But glad you're enjoying the phone
All Motorola phones are horrible especially ANY Moto
You're wrong. They've been my and my son's phone for almost 4 years now and they've been solid.
