Thank you for the detailed explanation in each video. Very helpful, much appreciated. Do you have any video for the opening of the in-ground/semi-inground pool?.
Hallmark, 1:42 I would like to know I use to mutch chemical in swimming pool, so I need for my hole pool. 4x4 round where CA I get vylnel I am from south afrika
You said in your video you may have a matching piece of a liner. I’m sending a picture of mine which I will need a large piece to try and patch It. I developed a small hole last fall that is now a larger tear. It’s up towards the top right below where it locks in. The liner is not very old but I hope that it will last for another summer. I didn’t want to stretch it in cold weather. I need a couple large pieces just to keep because I don’t have any leftover from when they installed it. Please let me know
When underwater patching apply glue and fold in 1/2 sticky wrong side to sticky wrong side and we then open it when we get to hole use goggles so you know exactly where the hole is press from center out making sure the ripped torn or puncture is covered by a patch cut at least twice the size of the hole. So for pinhole you would cut a 1" round patch.
Thanks for valuable info. I've used your video to patch a tear at the seam where the wall and floor intersect. I'm concerned that the ridge of the seam may not allow for a smooth flush adhesion. The patch has been in place for about 3 weeks and seems to be holding. I have been contemplating a second larger patch over the initial one just to be safe. Good or bad idea?
Patching over a seam can be tricky and sometimes the patch doesn’t seal good. If the patch is holding I would leave it, if you want to put a larger patch over it you can.
I have two corners of the vinyl liner cracking above the water line and was told HH-66 adhesive was the best I could us. I had lots of extra liner material so I cut two patches, rounded corners, cleaned both surfaces etc. But both patches have failed within less than 6 months. A pool company then recommended Boxer #700 Fast-Drying Vinyl Adhesive, which I would like to try. However I don't know how to clean off the residue from the HH-66 that is now on the pool liner. Do you have any recommendations on cleaning this off? Because the liner is cracking/splitting in the corner, I can't rub too aggressively.
@@HallmarkPoolSupplies thank you so much. That got all the adhesive off. This time I want to make sure the patch sticks. Is there a better time of day to glue the patch (expansion or contraction from heat or cool) and I would assume the patch being about 16” long should be acclimated in the same heat or cool of the day as the liner. Any tips to increase my odds of success?
Normally you would not repair or patch a liner on the seam you would replace the liner. You can try to patch the liner on the seam and it may hold, if not then you will have to replace the liner anyway.
@@HallmarkPoolSupplies Thanks for the fast response! Its a slow leak not a tare so Im hoping that the liner seam just came detached and that the glue will reattach it. Im going glue the seam and then blow a small amount of pressurized air at the glue spot to force glue into the seam then add more glue to both sides of the seam inside and outside the pool liner, then add the patch and see if that solves the problem.
I patched my pool liner and got some adhesive glue on the liner, around the patched and it caused it to smear/discolor/smudge, is that normal/ok? I tried adding extra adhesive because the patch was flapping over slightly.
Yes, we sell vinyl liners, patches and patch kits. However for an intex pool it depends on the material, some intex pools are vinyl side others are like a canvas material. We don’t do liners for intex but we have patch material.
How do you go about patching a step in a vinyl pool that is textured? I have tried flexseal pool repair adhesive as well as the underwater silicone adhesive with a clear vinyl patch and nothing will stay more than a day. There is a wrinkle on the step and right at the peak of the wrinkle is a slit. I’ve tried to flatten that out as much as possible and filled inside with adhesive as well as the patch on the outside but I can’t get anything to stay even though it says it’s made for underwater or vinyl liners. Please help
If you have vinyl over the steps in your pool you can normally patch and repair, if you can send me a picture I will be glad to take a look and discuss this with you in further detail.
I’m looking for a vinyl sample to match my pool liner. What’s the best way to get hold of you to see if you have a match, per your comment in the video?
If under water you will have to gently peel the glue off. If above water you can use rubbing alcohol. If the glue sets longer it will be harder to get off.
Paid a local company 470.00 to find and patch 5 tears. They used almost black vinyl patches on our light blue solid liner. I am pissed. Is this standard operating procedure? I can't believe they did that.
I have intex pool and i accidentally smoked my pool the first year i had it. Then that next summer i spent close to $600 in chemicals because my pool store kept telling me i needed to buy this and that. This year i emptied it due to sudden bloom of algae and even shocking brushing and filtering did nothing so i emptied it and see holes also a ton of sand from under pool liner..the pool liner is paper thin and to purchase a new liner costs $50 less than purchasing entirely new pool. So above ground pools or the vinyl liners why bother? They cost a ton of money everything makes them so high maintenance and heatinb them costs as much for the heater as a built in and why bother...im so upset. There is now absolutely nothing left to keep us cooled in summer kids occupied and cooled down teens from going out to the beach wherenow all the homeless live...camping has gone up and gasoline to get there would wipe us out. How can we both be working 2 jobs and still not afford basic things like an above ground pool liner or new ladder or new pump or chlorine we pay 80 bucks for 5lbs of chlorine granules and $8 per gallon on chlorine a new ladder $150 a new 1.5 hp pump $180. A new liner $450 and a heater $1500. Really? There are intex pool heaters in the united kingdom for like $50 ...but california doesnt well the entire usa wont sell them.
Great useful video!
Vinyl liner material should be available in repair kits.

Hallmark, I emailed the email you provided back on Oct 10 and still no response. Can you look into it?
I always tell my clients, keep the cutout for the steps, skimmer, love seat- these "scraps" can be used if they develop a hole/year- fyi
I have a photo of my liner. Where and to whom do I send it to get a piece of replacement vinyl for a small tear?

Can you patch while its wet
Yes, glue your patch and then you can go underwater and apply. Make sure the surface is clean and free of debris.
I tried to patch and it would not stick. But some of the glue did stick to my liner. How can I remove that glue, before I make a second patch attempt?
If under water you will have to gently peel the glue off. If above water you can use rubbing alcohol. If the glue sets longer it will be harder to get off.
Can you mention what is that can look you have you didn’t say nothing about it it looks like the same liquid they use for plumbing
That is a quarter pint of vinyl glue.
@@HallmarkPoolSupplies is the same glue for plumbing or this is special glue for liner
@@secomeco724 It is different.

I prefer to match the patch for overall aesthetics. Every company is different.
How do I remove an old patch that’s been there a while and is leaking
Depending on the size of the existing patch, it’s best to patch over with a larger patch.
I tried the website, tried emailing. Neither functioned properly. Couldn't make contact. Are you still around?
