I'm a general contractor which I have installed many hoods for our clients. This video is the best out of all video I have watched because it's the same of my installation technique which I have learned its' the best technique. in the video it was mentioned about car jack. Yes, you can use car jack but you needed to add extra wood block to increase the height. I have installed XtremeAir range hoods (omg, it was so heavy so having a cabinet jack or car jack will be a big help. good luck
I watch a lot of how to videos on RUclips because you can never know too much so I’m going to comment on yours your video was perfect probably one of the best videos I’ve seen on how to install something in quite a while I commend you thumbs up keep up the good work
This was exactly what I needed. All this time I was preparing to replace the fume hood, and figured I'd need to get 1-2 people to hold it in place while I attached it. Using the jack was the absolute best ideas I've gotten from a youtube video. Considering the differences between my old one and the new one, I had to use the jack multiple times as I prepared the cabinet and tested my changes. Thanks!!
This video has made me feel a lot better about installing my range hood! I was kind of worried about the price of installation if I hired a contractor or that it would be too hard if I tried to do it myself, but it actually looks a lot simpler than I thought it would be. It's nice to see that the things in kitchen are protected when installing the range hood. Thanks for the clear instructions!
@believe me its like saying its only for looks like a nonfunctional hood scoop on a car. why the hell would you bother, if i install a hood over the oven i wanna make sure its functional to extract heat and smoke out of my kitchen
Excellent instructions, I'm going to attempt to do this (I'm replacing so most of the work already done). I have a question, are the 4 screws enough to hold the range hood? It seems like it's dependent on the cabinet to hold it up.
I have a rectangular duct work inside the cabinet on the kitchen wall. But I see most of the Range Hoods come with Circular Shape. Can a Circular Ducted Hood be connected to a rectangular ductwork. ?
How to win an NFL game, by XtremeAirUsa: First, you get in your car to drive to the game. You get your keys, put them in the ignition, and drive down the road to the stadium. Then you're going to want to get your uniform on, helmet goes on your head. Make sure you're wearing shoes as your feet can be slippery on the grass ... *5 minutes later* ... And then the referee blows the whistle to start the game. So then you just score more points than the other team and there you go, you've just won an NFL game.
Had the duct already been hanging down, you would put that through the hole, and attach to the hood with alum tape...then jack the range hood up into place, and screw it in with mounting brackets. This was a very clear video, but lacks a tonne of pertinent information.
that unit is specifically designed to collect the grease in the cabinet for better environmental purposes and recycling. (kidding).... yeah. It isn't a good video at all.
Sucks for the people like myself to have an old home. We dont have a power outlet inside the cabinet ready for plug n play and hot wiring is a not go. Duct work is pretty much visual plus we all know a few hvac guys lol
Point out - 1- How do you fill the gap on all three sides? Some range hood are not exact fit. like 1/8" gaps and exposed cabinet sides to avoid oil / vavor stains.
Is this the PX10 model? The User's manual/Installation guide says you have to secure it to the wall/stud, through the back of the hood. Can we skip that step?
I have to remove a microwave in order to install something like this in. What is the max distance that the range hood should be above the stove in order for it to have the highest efficiency?
20"-26" measured to bottom of hood. Too close and removing pot lids from large pots might be tight. Any higher than 26" and the hot air/steam can escape.
I bought a UL14-U30 under cabinet hood and the instructions basically just say to cut a hole in the bottom of the cabinet, it doesn't say how far off the back or sides or any details at all, I'll figure it out but a template would have been nice. The company should have a more detailed step-by-step video for each model IMO.
once you do everything i didnt show than you can clean the hood. yea okay? you missing the entire duct work installation, you missed where to cut the hole on the cabinet, etc etc
I think you did a really good job. Only that can i do the holes before i putting into the wall so i save more time and is safety for ME? i want to see step by step with cables and bla bla ok, Gracias.
I'm going to "go ahead and" get some basic tools to "go ahead and" install a Broan ducted hood today. If I have any questions, I'll "go ahead and" ask Ricardo. I hope he'll "go ahead and" answer them for me. Others should feel free to "go ahead and" ask him questions about range hood installation too -- I'm sure he'll "go ahead and" answer them for you.
Just installed a cos-qs75. The Range is too low, I recommend 32-36 inches high from range to bottom of fan. Placed 3/4" plywood in back through studs as I dont trust drywall screws to hold 60 lbs. Ducted through back out of Hardieplank siding(pain in arse). Recommend reducing the diameter via 8 to 6" reducer to avoid drilling large holes. Aluminum tape is crucial for good seals and bond.
This seems a very bad official instruction. Was is the purpose of the big round hole in the carbinet? Don't even bother show a view of the carbinet cut pattern? Whether or How does the cooking smoke get to vent to outside? What is the measurements? How high should it be above the stove?
I was expecting to see how all the smell and odor from cooking goes now I know I can’t by any circumstance open the doors of the middle cabinets or my whole house will smell like fry chicken

Thank you for your useful comment.
hi i would like to know what do i do with the wear and top holes if i want mine to recirculate.
You didn't include how to install the duct work. That's more important than screwing the hood to the cabinet.
I watch a lot of how to videos on RUclips because you can never know too much so I’m going to comment on yours your video was perfect probably one of the best videos I’ve seen on how to install something in quite a while I commend you thumbs up keep up the good work

How about showing the duct work...? I want my 5:31 back.
it would be just put a pipe in that cabinet for that 3 sec.
You will never get it back its very sad.
Me too.
He does leave his customer support number at the end. :-D
It's a ductless hood/range.
I was most curious about the ducting
Same. 🤦♂️
instaBlaster...
yeah this is a pointless video
Thats was ductless type
@@dannydaguia2028 no it wasn't? he mated it to a duct.
Thank you for the video. Could you please tell me the brand name of the cabinet jack that you are using?
Ummm...... and the ducting and wiring?
@believe me its like saying its only for looks like a nonfunctional hood scoop on a car. why the hell would you bother, if i install a hood over the oven i wanna make sure its functional to extract heat and smoke out of my kitchen
@@joeydelmarsjr.646 ductless rangehood, its suct the fumes and odors on the removable filter inside.
it is a ductless range hood where you take out the filter to clean it or replace
Necro post, but; you don't need it!
The main things I'm concerned with are how to do the wiring and the vents to get the air outside.... more real detail, please?
Thanks for the jack idea, that's brilliant
Its just two wires very simple.just make sure u cut the main breaker before wireing
Excellent instructions, I'm going to attempt to do this (I'm replacing so most of the work already done). I have a question, are the 4 screws enough to hold the range hood? It seems like it's dependent on the cabinet to hold it up.
not enough
@@libofan8275 so what do you do?

Dude, where do the food odors go? Do they stay in the cabinets?
The food odors go outside of your house through the duct, the duct is connected to a small vent on the wall.
Thank you! very few good videos on this topic. This one is one of them!
what about the Vent pipe?
sorry. this video is not include the vent pipe.
Had the duct already been hanging down, you would put that through the hole, and attach to the hood with alum tape...then jack the range hood up into place, and screw it in with mounting brackets. This was a very clear video, but lacks a tonne of pertinent information.
Mounting brackets? Why don't you just use wood screws for mounting ?
What if the duct and the hole in range hood don't line up?😭😭😭😭😭
Do they make range hoods that don't require ducting?
This is a ductless?
Do you have a video for under cabinet ducted range hood installation?
Thanks
just a question, why u need to make 2 big hole at the bottom of the cabinet?
I didn't see a duct in the cabinet. Is there something that I missed??
that unit is specifically designed to collect the grease in the cabinet for better environmental purposes and recycling. (kidding).... yeah. It isn't a good video at all.
I came here to see the same & it was missing
It must be a ductless hood.
I have the same exhaust and after a year it comes on it own. I have to keep unplugging it to stop.
What is the height between the range hood and the gas cook
Sucks for the people like myself to have an old home. We dont have a power outlet inside the cabinet ready for plug n play and hot wiring is a not go. Duct work is pretty much visual plus we all know a few hvac guys lol

You made that look easy 👍🏾
What about the electrical I where did you plug it
hello, we have got a new cooker hood but it doesn't worth and we don't have a cabinet above it.does a cabinet affect on how the hood works?
I'm curious where is he plug in it too?
Is this the PX10 model? The User's manual/Installation guide says you have to secure it to the wall/stud, through the back of the hood. Can we skip that step?
THIS WAS FOR A DUCTLESS INSTALL BOYS , READ THE TITLE BEFORE YOU WATCH
How do you do this with a recirculation kit?
I have to remove a microwave in order to install something like this in. What is the max distance that the range hood should be above the stove in order for it to have the highest efficiency?
20"-26" measured to bottom of hood. Too close and removing pot lids from large pots might be tight. Any higher than 26" and the hot air/steam can escape.
Jack good. Where can buy
Thank-you so much for this video. I have been struggling to find a way to install my range hood alone. Problem solved.
Bad video, you didn't show all the steps!!!
thank you for your comments. Please let us know which step was missing? thank you.
XtremeAirUsa a lot. how to drill the holes. electrical wiring. to name a couple
XtremeAirUsa also, where will this be exhausting to? Inside the cabinet? Outside thru duct?
shut up
Hmm, yeah, what happened to how to adapt the 8 inch vent to the duct above the cabinet?
How heigh it’s the cabinet jack??
How much distance you should leave between the cook and the vent?
it's a great video. i like the way of using cabinet jack
Where do you find the hood jacks?

how about a video to protect countertop from power tools
jack size and name of jack please?
Great video!
I’m from Australia, and I can’t find any of those style of Cabinet jacks, where can I purchase them from?
what about if u want to have out side one so its flow the air out man
Good job men!i learned something from you.thanks
where did you get those cabinet jacks?
no need exhaust?
Useless not complete and the.most important did not show in this video the ducting and tube connection.
this is a ductless range hood using filter.
Where the air going? Outside or inside?
The power screw was ideal but it looked like you didn’t have a magnetic tip. What good is that than?
Because venting into your cabinet is so much easier.
My cabinet is full of grease...was there, I dunno, maybe some ducting that I should go ahead and do?
Hi
Please where can i buy those cabinet jacks?
+ivan kasozi Almost every online marketplace such as Amazon and Ebay but also your local hardware dealer.
I thought range hood has a tube that goes out to the roof to expel gas like a chimney
That's a wall mounted range hood
IDK.... see you didn't talk about 6" 8" or rectangular or 30" range or 36", etc.... or showed how to make the holes ..... some stuff is missing
Where’s the rest of the video which you connected the duct?
once you do everything i didnt show than you can clean the hood. yea okay? you missing the entire duct work installation, you missed where to cut the hole on the cabinet, etc etc
What about the vent?
no need exhaust duct?
Very good, thanks you so very much.

where the air that sucked up go?
This video is about all about the support system he used to install the range hood....
Looks very easy to install upon your installation instruction however, I find this to be not an accurate. You do not show putting wall screws.
This video should be labeled how to use a furniture jack. That's all you get out of this.
It would be way more easier if you remove the range, and you won't need to build additional support structure :-)
Why tf does no one show the duct work, ffs.
Thank you very much for the teaching!
A longer tip is always better. Ask the Mrs
you did not show us the ducting .
weres the wiring?
Huh? you left out the most important parts - electrical connection and duct work??
'the longer the tip, the better.'
that's what she said.
Let’s shoot a how to video leave out all the important bits!

very good professional
how to make the holes
the reason i watch this video is to find out how to solve the ducting.
Hey guys I'm looking for someone who can do that for me because I just bought a new house
thank you
Wow very nice

where are your safety glasses when using that drill over your face ?
A nice installation video!
uhh you forgot to fill in that big gaping hole .... i mean install the vent tube???? wtf...
Can I install one without the cabinet above it?
Oh so it goes on without any wiring hmm
What's the recommended setting for the power screw driver?
White Pineapples he should have used butterfly and bolt at the cabinet and screws at the wall with pilot hole.
So helpful, thank you!
No ductwork see. Look like he just vented into the wall or cabinet like most contractors do to cut corners.
come on man .. this is an ad , remind me never to call YOUR company
I was expecting to see how all the smell and odor from cooking goes now I know I can’t by any circumstance open the doors of the middle cabinets or my whole house will smell like fry chicken
wow I watched this whole video to get to the electrical part I need only to have him skip that part. who does that?..LOL
If not for the presenter and the cute quotient, I would consider those 5.3 mins as a loss.
