There are several parts missing from this install video: Some of the missing parts are: 1. Vent duct connection 2. Tightening of the screws once the range is hung 3. Make sure the lever is set correctly for vented vs ventless
I think I may be missing something with this installation. Why cut such a large hole in the bottom of the cabinet? The exhaust from the range hood would go directly into the cabinet. Why does the range hood not connect to ducting leading to the outside? If it was a ductless range hood, there are no vents on the fan to exhaust through charcoal filters back into the kitchen. Again, unless I'm missing something, I think this is a terrible installation video. Please set me straight.
I purchased an under cabinet range hood that has 2 venting options, straight up or straight out the back. I could save all the work of cutting a hole in the cabinet above the stove, plus not needing to take up valuable cabinet space, if I just use the vent hole that goes straight out the back of the vent hood. Why do all the videos seem to show them running the vent pipe up through the cabinet above the stove instead?

Above my cook top is a recessed light in the cabinet that is operated by a switch. Once the light is removed can that existing power be used to hotwire the unit?
Hello I saw the ad in home depot and This is also a ventless Under cabinet range hood, Can you make a video of how to convert to ventless? I can't make a hole in the cabinet since I don't own the house but I like the design, The broan, air king and nutone ventless are horrible. I really appreciate it! Thank you!
Dear Customer, Thank you for your comment. Whether the unit can be ventless/ductless will depend on the model. In order to make a unit ventless/ductless you will need to add carbon filters, however not every model has this option. We can provide further instructions if you contact us directly so we can specify based on the model number. Thank you in advance, have a great day! A couple of significant mistakes, omissions, and missing details in this video, which, paradoxically, you will only catch if you don't need the video in the first place.
