Thank you for posting this. Our range hood fell while I was cooking food for Thanksgiving last year and the fan didn't work anyways, so I got a new hood this year. Following this video helped me figure out how to change it out. Both of mine were ductless so I didn't have to mess with that part, but messing with the wiring was what had me worried. Got it changed out with no problems!
Thank you for creating😅 this video. Before watching it I feared this talk on about of now understanding the process. U changed that fear into confidence today. Thank u Champion 🎉❤
Thank you for posting this. I'm hoping to replace our range hood soon and this helped me understand how it's done. Still am a little nervous about the wiring. Our current range hood is ancient and came with the house we bought. The model number has been painted over, so we don't have mfg reference.
My range hood vents out the front. I want to get one that vents out a duct up in the attic like yours. You think I could just drill a hole in the ceiling if I get one that vents to the attic?
Duck Brand® duct tape takes its name from the original name of duct tape. So duck tape is the same stuff. duct tape refers to a broad range of tapes, while Duck Tape® refers to a specific brand of duct tape.
@@guitar.knackshack2210 welp, I guess you're right, I was always led to believe duct tape was named for its use on ducts. But apparently not. Metallic tape is just another form of duct tape. Either way though, they should be using metallic tape in this situation
@@masterseanwit3594 It was named for its use on ducts. “Duck” tape is a brand of now obsolete duct tape, it was used for ducts in the past and that was its original purpose but is not anymore, still good tape but it is not considered suitable for ducts. Once foil tape was discovered and made affordable it became the superior product for ducts and with more stringent building codes, became a necessity for duct work.
Excellent and informative. Clear, smooth delivery. No stupid pauses to say "Ah," "Er," "Well . . ." Highly recommend.
Thank you for this straightforward and concise DIY video. See? It doesn't take 20 minutes to tell a 5 minute story!

I thought that the FlexDuct shown in the video Doesn't meat code?
I also thought that using Duct Tape was a Huge NoNo on Range Exhause?
How would I remove the old and the cabinets above it and replace it with a chimney? Is it possible?
Twist the wires first with pliers then put on the nut. Just putting the wires together and twisting a nut on them makes for a bad connection!
That's not duct tape... you're using DUCK tape. Duct tape is a metallic tape
