One of the things i'd enjoyed the most about your content, is how you had experimented with your arstyle without any fear to do something completely different from the previous works.
Your first drawings used to go by the "kawaii/cutesy" way, then you moved on into something more stylized and personal with chaotic colors, lines and shapes, which finally evolved into a mix of all the things you've been drawing.
I'm very glad that i'd being here to see all your artistic journey. You're one of the most authentic artists i'd ever seen and i'm in love with the way your art just reflects the way you are. I'm sure i'll still be here to see how you keep growing and show the evolution of yourself as an illustrator and your artistic voice!

I feel totally lost when it comes to my digital art. I can replicate other people's style with relative ease and have tried so many and none feel even remotely within the "neighborhood" of my style. Yet when it comes to my photography I 1000% have my style and palette DOWN.

it truly is tough to find your initial artistic voice, i don’t think i’ve felt at home in my art until this year. i wish u luck and im so glad you have photography!!!

I definitely would try that photo import tool procreate has if you have the app like she mentioned! Like drag and drop a photo you’ve taken that you like the color palette into the color palette so then it’ll take those colors you like so you can use them in the app 😊 I love doing that to transfer my watercolor pieces to procreate since I struggle to recreate the specific tradition colors I have

soooo true when it comes to drawing a lot. I remember winter 2020, i forced myself to draw every day for a week (finished, digital pieces) and my skill level increased TENFOLD! now, I'm switching between digital and traditional and the key truly is to just do a bit a day. Even if it's 10 minutes, you'll look back on your work and see growth!

I can really attest to the "find something you like and draw it a lot" and it was also flowers for me. through middle and high school if I would space out during class, I would just draw random flowers (with and without reference) in the margins of my notes and I eventually noticed patterns in the way petals looked from different perspective or just how the anatomy varied across certain kinds of flowers, just as an example. That was way before I decided to take art seriously. Then when I actually did, I had this whole memory bank of just drawing flowers so I like to incorporate them now whenever I can

I 100% agree on the fan art, I love drawing landscape and never honestly find real inspiration in normal landscapes (unless they have big exploding colors) but there’s something about a written fantastical world that when you imagine and put that fantasy on a real landscape that served for inspiration to the author you make a visual of the story and places you read in a book and this is my number one inspiration

You are one of my favorite people on the internet! Such good advice :) I struggled for years to figure out my style and I've just started to feel confident in my artistic style. Practice and experimenting are key! Also finding what inspires you the most helps a ton. Thank you for being you!

I agree that working traditionally feels a lot more fluid in what I like and dislike while creating, because digital drawing all feels the same using a tablet and a stylus. I think trying less expensive brands or buying "value sets" of paints or pencils also before committing to buying more expensive materials is a great way to play around without investing too much if you don't end up liking it.

Another great way I’ve found to make colors work for me is to digitally mix them myself! If I know I want to use a specific color in my piece, I’ll mix that color with two other colors I think will compliment it. From there you can make tints/shades from the original colors and mixes, or use them as is. ☺️ I’m def going to have fun with the different color palette options you showed!

i personally started off working in the digital space & have been in the process of practicing more traditional forms of art! this was so helpful & inspires me to keep practicing & constantly drawing things i love!

Traditional art is my favorite, and I think you nailed why the switch to digital can be overwhelming. I'm fond of sketching digitally, but adding color is so different. All my knowledge of color theory is based off of pigment. Not light.

This was honestly super helpful and something I needed to hear this week because I’ve been bouncing between mediums in hopes to open an art store but it’s hard to focus my style in each one lately because I use them all so differently, like my watercolors vs my polymer clay have such a medium gap between them but I want it to be to where someone looks at it and be like “oh I know who made that “ ya know? I’m definitely into just full experimenting but the process feels fruitless right now while I’m all over the place 😅😅 I’ll be using these tips for sure!!

I have a quick question, so I have recently started to do digital art because I want to make my stuff into prints and stickers! but I have the hardest time with RGB and the CMYK thing. And I get super frustrated when my digital color pallet ( my colors get super dull with CMYK) doesn’t match up with my traditional color pallet. So do you color in RGB and then make it CMYK when you are about to manufacture your design? Im just super lost and would love to hear back! 😊Hope this makes sense!😅

Love the suggestion to replicate the work of other artists. Yes, we should definitely be respectful and not take credit for work or ideas that aren't ours, but I think we often forget that replicating the art of others is literally how most of the old-school pros (Van Gogh, Monet, etc.) learned too. It's how we find styles we enjoy or learn how to do new techniques!

Do you recommend using Pinterest for reference photos ? I usually draw wel when I look at a photo , but can’t draw from my brain without reference. I am interested on bringing my own characters to life what should I do?

I like to go back to my old sketchbooks and analyze and pin point the styles and techniques I used and write them down as exactly as possible, with the knowledge and experience I have now, several years later. I also do re-draws of my old pieces or really go wild with mixed media and most importantly : have fun while doing it! :D

Hello, I’ve been an artist for a long time.. I don’t know if I should go to college and get benefits from that if it is beneficial.. I’m just really unsure of how to go about making a life style out of my art. I have skills for it I just don’t know the market. If you could give tips for college, no college, benefits in art/ digital art, ext. thank you 🤍
