Been doing Gam Developement off and on for several years now and have only finished a prototype of a old arcade space shooter and started many projects but never got them playable...also all my projects are 3D, expect for the one prototype i finsihed
Great journey, respect! I also started from nothing btw, learned everything through youtube tutorials, so keep going, it's possible :D
@@davegamedevelopment Thanks man. I'll be perfectly honest I didnt expect a reply much less a for you to actually read that lol. I bought a city building pack off the unity store and im going to try to make a level to actually transverse in with an edited version of your movement.

It takes a lot of time to make one, especially when making tutorials :D
My first game was an FPS sit in a desert environment where there was two houses acting as borders so you don’t escape the map and they were very tightly packed and there was just targets that went down when you shoot them behind boxes and barriers and crates and it really sucked

Sakul_the_one yeah 2d games are cool to start with :D It‘s just easier to understand simple coding logic with only 2 axis, but afterward you can move on to 3D if you want :D
All Games I started was 3D....

How does FPS Shooter make any sense? I mean, yes, FPS stands for "Frames Per Second" but as a Game Ganre FPS stands for "First Person Shooter" and if you say "FPS Shooter" as a game ganre, it will be "First Person Shooter Shooter" which doesn't make any sense at all.

Hey, nice to see your evolution and the fun you had along the way. I am a perfect pre-pre-beginner. I have experience in graphic design and a little bit in 3d, no experience in coding. If possible, what tutorials do you recommend for someone at an absolute 0 to start in Unity? I would like to be able to do game dev as well as animations.

i just started as well, no coding or any experience with unity. i followed this tutorial and now expanding off of it. for all coding i basically just use chat gpt to help me. sometimes works great, othertimes not so much and i need to do research

I've been in gamedev for over half a year and I still haven't made anything that I can call a game.
I just learn tiny stuff and move to the next project and when I try to make something a bit larger, nothing works and I get so frustrated so I go back to something simpler
