Thanks to you and Matty for the valuable tips! I'm guilty of skipping -leg- left-hand day and need to work on my weak lefty turning, among other things.
Another tip is kind of related with tip 2: keep your fingers curved, not stiff. Having your fingers stiff will cause excessive movement, you will add more force for nothing
Yoo! btw i just wanted to give u a video idea about mistakes that beginners always do: such as hesitation, not learning full oll not doing the cross right etc..
People teaching about about tps Jperm: just turn as fast as possible to get better potential turn speed Cubehead and Matty: *this video* Meanwhile on the Tingman channel; Tingboy: BE FAST Keep up the great work
I found the best thing that helped my TPS was just scrambling fast! At first, not knowing any Algs made it feel… random and clunky. But I made something like a Kata in martial arts, a set of moves I repeated which helped me get faster , warm up my hands before solving, AND made my finger tricks get into my muscle memory. Strike 1st. Strike Hard! 😎
Hello cubehead this video is awesome! But I would really like to learn a 4x4 can you please make a video of the beginner method you already taught me how to solve a 3x3 and beginner cfop so please and thank you
This video is very interesting and learning full I do think that the majority of the speedcubing community will learn something from this, I surely did. (OBS! 9:16 idk if you know this but it does pop up a video when you are pointing)
I just got a Yoo cube v2! It was intended for a gift, but I think it's not the right setup for a beginner, lol. I'm going to keep it for myself :)! Not in a greedy way, but it totally benefits me, lol.
You should probably use the same practice techniques used by concert pianists. Basically start slowly, but smoothly, and gradually build up speed. It's important to stay relaxed.. Speed generally develops over time.
I also think lots of people hear the advice of "slow turning in practice" that we hear all the time, but don't realize that the whole point of it is indeed to eventually pick up the pace and just "send it" as that guy said in the video.
I need videos for transitions between beginner to two look to single look. I found some info when leaving beginners in some of your videos and other’s but I had to watch RUclips for hours every day. Things like case 42 the Bow tie should be first one look alg and then transitioning from most common OLL’s. I still feel crap on f2l. It’s been 3 months and I am obsessive with practice( but I am old). I had to stop timing myself for a month to get f2l faster than beginner method. No one talks about this. Ps why does your hairs always change
I got pretty good tps when I switched with faster cubes. Back then I used rs3m without any lubes and cleaning which makes my cube even slower and harder to turn but i got used to it and then I bought a new cube which is tv3, I'm not gonna lie but the slower cube helps me to build my tps just like how you put weights on your feet and try to run, when you got use to it then remove it.. boom much faster running.
@@CubeHead How do you recognise CLL cases? I watched your RTWR video where you were alg relearning and tried to learn off the pdf, please can you help?
Tipp 1: just turn faster WRM V10: **core breaks** I was hoping that the defect was only on a few cubes and that the other ones would be fine. i was probably wrong
i started cubing 3 years ago and in 7 months got to a 10 second avg. Later i got more in to big cubes and nearly reached sub 3 in 7x7 and sub 2 in 6x6, before i quit for studies, and lost hope of improvement. This video motivates me to get back into speedcubing. Thanks cubehead!
Taking notes be like your gonna do then *Turn the cube so fast that you can't understand what he is saying* then yo do * turn the cube so fast* then you finished 😂😂😂
Hey Cubehead, I bought your cube back in May, and I got good times on it, I even broke my PB yesterday. (20 sec) But it's not as fast as I thought it would be. Can you make a Yoo lube set for the Yoo cube II pls.
I do really think too many people just settle for slow turning and "accept" the fact that "oh I just don't have high TPS" and that's that. Sometimes not even being sub 10-12, they'll even justify doing weird things like learning ZBLL and doing EO to ZB when they could literally just drill their OLLs/PLLs and have better results. That's crazy to me honestly. Anyone can learn to have at least very good TPS imo, its definitely not something you have or don't have. Fingertricks and TPS should be valued in practice time invested and it does pay off! Things like sub 1 OLL and sub 1.3 PLL honestly I think are within almost everyone's reach if they put in the work. And that, realistically can easily carry you through at least sub 8. Maybe its because many teachers have been hammering the slower turning in practice. Which yes is a very good tip to improve lookahead, but the point is that at one point you do pick up the pace and "send it" as that guy said. Also for LL there is literally no reason not to turn at close to your max speed. Another big thing I've seen a lot in the 10+ years I've been cubing is people saying things like "they have a rough turning style" when in fact, they just have objectively bad turning (no disrespect but it's true yo 😅) and instead of working to improve on that they kinda use it as an excuse. Similarly, sticking with poorly set up cubes because thats what they're used to. Like honestly that was 100% me for a long time until I decided to get a fast cube and not "tune it to my liking" and instead adapt MY turning to the faster cube and just stuck with it for a while. If I can do it after 5+ years of bad turning anyone can!
