    Note: If when you click between the timing marks does not open the box to enter the lyrics(17:24), try the following. In the File menu, select Preferences, Effect Grid Tab and make sure the option "Double Click Mode" is set to "Edit Text", click OK to Save.

    BUILDERS OF THIS PROJECT PLEASE READ. I just got my singing bulbs in the mail pre-painted (called Boscoyo Hi-Res Bulbs). The wiring pattern in Xlights - called reverse view... is BACKWARDS for those 46" bulbs!! If you decide to paint them yourself, meaning you bought the all-white coro bulbs; look at the wiring pattern in Xlights and be sure it overlays the holes correctly and then paint the OTHER side. Once you paint the coro, you have chosen a front, and therefore a back side! You can pick the proper one from the beginning and save some frustration there. I had to right click on the wiring pattern and flip it to FRONT VIEW so it would align with the punched hole pattern on my unpainted side. The 30" wiring views were correct for those in Hi-Res. Much thanks to Trevi Lights for figuring out the nodes used for all the expressions and facial parts. What a pain that would have been!

    Thank you for another great video. I noticed that you added the wiring information to the hanging light bulb, but didn’t show how you went about to do so. Could you show how you took the light bulb and added the wiring information and then added the custom model into xLights? This would be very helpful for someone like myself and hopefully for many other.

    • @trevilights
      @trevilights  3 года назад

      Hi Sayitwithlights. The wiring view comes preloaded(at least it should) when you choose the element. Must be the people from boscoyo studios who created. The only thing I did was capture(enter) the pixels numbers that forms each part of the element shown in minute 5:50 and only because it was missing from the hanging version of the lightbulb. Usually it also comes preloaded. Thanks for watching.

      Hey Don. Thanks for watching. Glad to help. Iusually inject power every 300 pixels. In this case having 3 singing light bulbs I am only injecting at the end of the third light bulb. The controller is providing power at the beginning of the first light bulb.

    • @trevilights

      Hi Mike, Since I have the tree elements connected in series, I injected at pixel #1(coming from a controller port) and at pixel #510.
      I split the positive and negative just before going into pixel #1 and jumped to pixel #510

    edit: just saw your description. Why have I seen pixel lights run in the hundreds of dollars? I saw 40 feet lights for about $150

    • @trevilights
      @trevilights  2 года назад

      I buy the lights for Amazon. I like that I can return them if there anything wrong with them. They aren't cheap. 500 pixel cost close to $160. Plus you will also need an extra power supply. You will also need to replace the connector to some weather proof ones.
      Some order from China using Aliexpress.com but I do not see any big difference. Also make sure you order then in the same voltage, either 12v or 5v.

    Hi, I have watched a lot of your videos and find them extremely helpful so a big thank-you to you for creating such a great list of videos on the broad range of topics including controllers and Xlights and setups that are helping me gain the needed confidence to set up a show this year. I have a question as I try to replicate what you are doing in your video and I navigate my own Xlights layout. For some reason when I go into the edit faces tab (4:39 in your video) I do not have the black background with the bulb showing on the right side of the window. Therefore I am unable to achieve what you do in your video as you click on the individual lines of the bulbs that make up the various components of the mouth/outline of the bulb and they light up and change on your bulb image every time. Do you know why I cannot get my bulb to show up so I can select the different groups of bulbs that make up the various shapes of the mouth? Thanks.

Have you tried another models just to see what you get? Are you using a recent version of xlights? Hey Sid, The models in xlights are sometimes missing data. Like in minute 5:00 if this video. You will might need to make adjustments. Now, I know that on some elements like the singing Christmas tree has two versions. The newer version has more light in the mouth giving it more definition when singing. So make sure you pick the correct. Also make sure you choose the correct size as some elements come in different sizes and different pixel count.
