I complained to my doctor for 6 years and finally the pain changed and I went to hospital emergency and they found a football size ovarian tumor. The removed it , had a debunking and it never spread. I had no chemo or radiation. I was very blessed. It’s been 11 years

😊That's very strange that you had no chemotherapy after your DEBULKING (not debunking) surgery. There's only one rare type of ovarian cancer that does not require chemotherapy. I think it's possible that you had a non-cancerous (benign) ovarian tumor. Those can also grow quite large.

Why are doctor's so hesitant to order tests?! We shouldn't have to request it. Or be our own advocate. So sad

I think cause some of the symptoms are very similar to menopause , probably if she was younger they would have gotten more suspicious that something wrong was going on but as she was the age of menopause they must have assumed she was simply experiencing symptoms of menopause . But you are right , better to be safe than sorry .

Let me tell you this... I was diagnosed with ibs when I was 12 years old ibs is a false diagnosis. I always know their was something more than just “Ibs” irritable bowel syndrome doesn’t even make sense! Like yes my bowel is irritable but why??? I am now experiencing new and more serious symptoms. Symptoms that don’t even fit with ibs, I am now concerned that I may have ovarian cancer. But I’m not a doctor so I don’t know for sure. I plan on going to a doctor as soon as it is safe and we are out of quarantine. This video was very helpful thank you 👍💓💓

Sooo... I'm listening to these stories about how we as a patient. Are going to our doctors telling them something is wrong. Wanting to do the " catch it early '" but these doctors are not listening or doing there part. Instead there assuming and dismissing. So I have to ask What can Doctors out there do to be more aware. And that's putting it mildly.

I'm 4B HGSC and really need to know if this person is still alive? I need more hope. I went in for a routine Hysterectomy and because the Doctor didn't check me for OC before and never told the Pathologist I was BRACA1 they never look for cancer and now I'm fighting for my life to get past the 5-year death sentence. I'm in remission as of 4/8/2020 but need hope. Please can someone answer me on this? Is she still alive and are there others with HGSC alive past the 5yrs.? TIA

I think that if you had live past 50s then something is going to get you , maybe if we just accept calmly and think of illnesses as a process need it for continuation of the universe . We will not be feeling in the abyss.
